Monster Hunter series producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, shared the information with Gamereactor in a recent interview. This means that American players will not be able to play online with European players, and neither one will be able to play with Japanese players either. Capcom have since confirmed the news on their forums.

Pretty much. It's true that a ton of Chinese/Korean hackers would hurt Japanese online game experiences in the early days, but it sucks that Japan's Internet has become so closed as a result. Fucking everything is IP locked.

I guess I am not looking at the big picture and how people would just like to hunt monsters and people would like to do that with others and don't need communication. Otherwise, communication is key.
