I think you're reading too much into them.
It's not like they're an attempt at clever jokes or anything, more like enjoying the general "frenzy" regarding the start of next gen.
Just an excuse to have fun.
As a contributor in that thread, i can definitely say that, out of context, they really are not that funny, so posted in this thread they do lose most of their sense.
Still, i don't think most people would claim otherwise.
Same goes for any perceived attachment to CEOs and head figures of these companies, that are "characterized", just for the sake of the thread's goofyness, i would hope no one really has any kind of expectation towards this people outside of that, but that's just my personal take.

You know that's probably why they annoy me, it's the absence of any context. They feel like they're all setup and no joke when you view them elsewhere. It's like a bad hidden camera show where they create some totally unrealistic and contrived situation then go "haha look at these fuckwits" and you only laugh because you're glad it's not you being given a grasshopper enema.
