I've got this guy =D

these guys (I have the red one) are a BIIITCH to get to stand-up on their own, without a stand.

...the figure doesn't come with a stand (>__<)

65 is a horrible price. Protip: don't shop at us based stores for japanese merch especially when the yen is so weak to the dollar, shop at a Japanese store that sells internationally and you won't be paying inflated prices.

Let's just say i paid almost as much for this as the fucking game itself...

I'm pathetic ( ._.)

Hmmm...i wonder how it would look on my white 3DS XL - looks kinda cool.

To those of you with more experience, which is better? I've only played Tri's single player and I loved it, and luckily a good friend of mine is interested in getting into the series. We both only have 3DS's at the moment.

So 2 player local co-op, or 4 person online? Is it worth it to get a WiiU for this?

Right at the PS4pocalypse. So why hasn't anyone made a gif of a hunter slaying the evil Kaz demon that has infested gaf? Nintendo fans never get the good gifs :(

you mean Kazjho?

many will tell you the Wii U version since you can play online with it. and if your friend has a 3DS, then you can play together with crossplay. or switched if your friend has gets the Wii U version. the only benefit of both playing on the 3DS is that you don't have to buy a Wii U right now...
or ever

Both works fine but 4 player is pretty fun, find Mobster Hunter really gets going when you got a 4 group Hunters doing their own things.
(Edit: lol ducking autocorrect)
Like you've haven't experienced Monster Hunter fully until you've got that one guy that's mining for materials whilst everyone is fighting a monster. Lots of grieving moments, like playing that Deviljho game XD

Fund it.

The 4 player sounds really tempting but I think we'll wait and stick with the 3DS for now. $360 just to play with a few more people is a bit excessive, and the WiiU's current library is, well...yeah. But in any case, if we ever do upgrade thank god for the save transfer.

So is the circle pad necessary for this or does the camera lock work fine?

I do believe it isn't a camera lock but a face/focus on the OMG HUGE MONSTER running towards you camera.

I'm going to be honest, I'm a fanatic so you may want to disregard my humble opinion :) (bought extra Wiis to hook up to our other tvs just to get more family members hunting Tri together.) If there was a system seller for Wiiu, this would be it. The amount of hours involved in preparation, gathering, armor crafting and hunting will be countless. The sheer volume of new content in this version is crazy, ever since this game was announced I couldn't think of anything else and it easily overshadows the hype I have for Wind Waker HD(Zelda fan too). I'm just all flustered thinking about it lol!!! Hunting online, building that comradery with fellow GAFfers and others through memorable hunts is what really makes this game solid gold and highly addictive. So many unexpected things can happen, it's almost never the same hunt twice! (Ok slight exaggeration, but I'm enthusiastic) So yes, definitely, in an age where one game sells a system is rare...MH provides a compelling argument to own a Wiiu. But this is just the opinion of a Monster Hunter madman.

I don't think the touch screen camera lock stuff works very well. It started frustrating me as soon as I got to Qurupeco and I went and got the circle pad pro.

So I want to buy the wiiu version of the game and I have NTSC console and I live in EU. What is the cheapest option for me ? BTW I have 45 dollars in wiiu eshop right now so ... any suggestions ?

Do you want to play it day one? Get the download version, if you're willing to wait import from sites like Videogameplus.ca (Importing normally takes around 2-4 weeks though) https://www.videogamesplus.ca/product_info.php?products_id=20395
Not including delivery though, probs GAF have other import site but videogameplus has been consistently reliable for me.

Does anyone know if you can drop kick a monster in TriU? I'd be all in if so.

Aww yeah!

Rajang's shout always disturbed me. My first run in with Rajang was before I knew what sound it made. I had headphones on (loud) and heard it before seeing Rajang (it was in the lava) and the sound scared the crap out of me.

I have yet to play a game in this franchise but me, my GF, and a couple friends from work are all jumping in on this. We'll all be getting the 3DS version (love my new XL) and I'll consider the Wii U version if I find myself really into it.

I like PSO so why not?

Tri's demo was like that to. :(

That's sort of how it has to be though. Newcomers are going to write off the game if it's just the early stages and no one is going to play a ten hour demo to get to the part where the game really takes off. It's easier just to give a couple of scenarios that take place after the super long initial setup and mushroom picking.

Yeah, putting that in a demo would likely turn more people off than anything. The opening phases of MH games are notoriously slow.

In the stream yesterday, something was said about the demo having Duramboros and Plesioth, wonder if that's true.

If they were smart, the demo would let you collect the coliseum quest coins since those quests have preset equipment anyway.
