You have no idea at all on how a business is run right? The impact that even an additional 50 cents can have? Not every start up business can afford to pay $15 to every employee..... Its just logic, basic stuff.

I wasn't aware President Obama was proposing an increase of the minimum wage to $15

HACKERS IN OUR AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEMS? It's more likely than you think.

CyberDefense Executive Order 2013. Buy now for $4.99

To be fair to us, we did just elect the guy who made rejecting trickle down economics one of the center points of his campaign.

Too bad republicans still live in a deluded fantasy land bubble of lower taxes for the rich and higher taxes for the middle class somehow means jobs and prosperity for everyone

That free trade agreement must pass, just to help prevent what China did to Boeing. That was fucking shameful

A better economy increases revenue and lowers deficits. Government spending doesn't always create deficits and cutting spending doesn't always lower them ( see Europe).

Education, rebuilding neighborhoods by hiring government employess, it is all spending money to increase the quality of life through programs that could never be profitable. It just means more deficit.

9$ minimum wage still isn't enough, it must be at least 10-11 and more if you live in a large city, but even 9 probably won't pass.

9 an hour would destroy many small businesses

Australia is 15$ per hour, are they on the verge of collapse?

The 'ruin small business' myth with wages is one of the best anti-labor con jobs the right has made up since the 80s.

Why instead?

How about in addition to?

Higher prices, higher tax revenues.

More revenues more social services. Ideally

Indirect drone talk? Holy shit.

Not saying it's a bad idea. Like anything else designed to help the poor, it give shitty business owners another excuse to fuck them over. Screw the "entitlement generation," I've never witnessed a group more bitchy than modern Conservatives.

If the government is screwing them over so badly, shouldn't their mantra of "self-reliance" guide them to adapt to new conditions in the face of difficulty without self-destructing?

You also voted in a house that won't let that get through.

That was mainly because of gerrymandering, not because Americans wanted a Republican Congress. Though I do think America still has that silly idea in their head that a divided government automatically equals a better government.

Too bad? If your business model doesn't work without paying employees a living wage, you shouldn't be in business. Sounds logical to me.

And just like that you shutdown a number of start ups, be it restaurant or stores. Potential better paying jobs in the future. How to manage this? I'll just fire an employee and make up for the increased cost. That's how many small/medium businesses will see this.

The person said "not every employer can afford to pay $15 to every employee," so I recommend reading a little bit more next time

And that was just an exagerrated example. You took it too literal. But actually yeah, you could round up to $11 per employee at 9 an hour... insurance and other things do pile up.
