Episode 40

OMG That was AWESOME! Great melee combat, no spamming of recycled special move footage, brisk pace, and a solid ending. Best Gold Saint fight so far, along with the conclusion of Paradox. Looks like shit is getting real. There's no way Eden is going to turn away again after this. Kouga and Yuna just have the clear the way ahead, and when Eden gets to Mars, shit is going to go down. Soooo good.

Ep. 40. Well at least they were true to Kurumada's sexism. Sonia (daughter) gets fucked in the ass the whole series while Eden (son) is the one true heir to rule the world and all the shit.
RIP Sonia I liked you :(

What happened to that CG movie that was announced, any news? I stopped watching this show by the 6th episode I think. :P

The cg movie is aimed at July

41-
HOLY FUCK at that Pisces teaser !
He has .... SHORT hair =O
Also, should be noted that his name is "love" in portuguese xD

Lots of interesting reveals on this episode !

So i started watching this got through 20 episodes over the weekend.Highlight was Eden smacking the shit out of Koga it was easily the best fight and episode of the series so far. Really wish there was more variation in the way fights play out besides special move >>>>>><<<<<<< special move.

Ryuho and Yuna are probably the most interesting of the young saints. The others are pretty boring and immediatley outshined whenever a gold saint appears.

I know its a common theme in shonen but it'd be nice if the way the saints keep getting stronger so fast was at least fleshed out a little. Koga getting unbelieveably stomped then within an episode unlocking his true cosmos and raring to fight Eden is a bit ridiculous.

So um... when is Eden going to join the team legit? I'm tried of this lone wolf badass schtick already.

Also seventh sense cosmo is broken to me and feels more like a deus ex machina created for the Bronze saints. How else is a bronze saint supposed to beat a gold saint...

So 40 episodes now and they are still regarded as Bronze Saints? no updates to the cloths or anything? was hoping for some silver and gold episodes by that time.

Well ... theoricaly the original saints (like Shun and Hyoga) are STILL bronze saints.... even if they wear gold and other stuff from time to time

Wich reminds me ... so sad that
Ikky is nowhere to be found for a cameo =(

The inconsistency just gets annoying to me. Why is it that the bronzes that do achieve 7th sense still get smacked around like nothing when entering the very next temple? At least adjust the plot to take it into account.

Eh your right i always forget that Sagittarius isn't actually Seiya's. I suppose it's shown that having a silver cloth doesn't really amount to much during the series, some having one simply for status.

Yeah ... this series actualy explained this good with Scorpion and Aquarius not been saints for so long and how that affected their power and relationship with their armors

Every time I read this thread's title I'm tempted to come back. I stopped at like episode 23? How much more dumbness do I have to endure before the awesomeness returns?

He won't. There are only 10 episode or less left. They're all going to get to Mars on their own terms and the story will end.

I'm sure he will fight one of the Kings. Their color-coding is too convenient.

Seventh Sense is the typical shounen-style switch power-up; unless they are all shiny and stuff they don't have the Seventh Sense activated and are fighting with their normal strength.

So 40 episodes now and they are still regarded as Bronze Saints? no updates to the cloths or anything? was hoping for some silver and gold episodes by that time.

Even after defeating a few Gods, everyone in the original cast is still a Bronze Saint in the official sequel written by Kurumada.
And they still get beaten around by Gold Saints.

Also,
What happened to the God Cloths the original bronzes had?? They up and just poof out of existence all of a sudden?

Episode 41

Wow, not only was that fucking ugly, but it was a bullshit episode too. Pretty much what I should have expected from Haruto, the worst character in the show. Awful nonsense. The episode had terrible production values too. Everyone looked super stupid - even Eden and Mars in some scenes. Amor looks dumb as fuck too. What's with the terrible design? This show is so inconsistent, giving us one of the worst episodes of the Gold Saint arc right after one of the best episodes. Lololol. :(

Really thrilling episode there especially the big moments and last few minutes.
Haruto proved his worth and in such an epic manner, that scream even. Way excited to return to Kouga!

42

More backstory? Dont know how I feel about it. Anyway, I like Koga alot so I ended up liking the big moment a whole. Kind of think they dropped the ball with this fight though. Fudo was easily the most exciting of the bunch followed by the one that was obsessed with cracking bones.

42

Ok, now I expect Feature Lenght levels of animation on the final battle because that episode was SO CHEAPLY MADE they MUST be saving for something =P

Also .. you can't have a dark cosmo and be .... a good guy ?

I guess that is why they are saving the
Ikky
cameo for the last minute

Episode 42

That was pretty bad. And not just in a "har har Haruto sucks, this ep is bad" way, since this was a major episode with Koga facing a villain which has been set up since almost the start of the series. It was also written by Reiko Yoshida, so I expected something relatively logical or meaningful in the interactions. But no. It was nonsense.

Not only does Ionia's back story make no snese, it's also FUCKING STUPID.
So the guy is implied to be a pedophile who fell in love with a baby. A terrible trainer whose bad training made an entire school rebel against him (lol!). A mass murderer who proceeded to kill all his students who rebelled. An some hermit who wrote a ton of books no one ever got to read.
??????????!!!!!!!! It's fucking dumb. So's his reason for joining Mars. But that's not all. His power is stupid too. And the way Koga wins? Total bullshit. More bullshit than last week! Zero satisfaction.

The animation was bad. The art was pretty bad. Ionia's "youth" form was retarded looking. The attacks were all stupid. The only good art in the entire episode was Koga in his dream state
just after his circlet broke.
Everything was fucking awful.

One of the most disappointing episodes in the entire series. Hope it gets better after this. :(

You can't really get more bullshit than winning against
a guy that controls time just because.

Sure you can. It's more bullshit when they do the SAME THING for a guy who was hyped up as the main sub-villain for the main character since ep6 or something. What a let down. :(

43

So weird to se how ... straight is the pisces saint =|
I'm totaly having straighphobia with him =P

So ... very interesting episode... a bit of fanservice and a VERY interesting finale.

I'm from the group that thinks that
will actualy have control over his dark cosmos
but it is interesting to think about the implications if i am wrong .... maybe the ending will be
an actual Eden vs Kouga fight but with sides switched from the first time
???

I can see this being awesome =D

Jesus 42 was bad, like worse than filler episode bad. Because at least you can ignore filler, but not here. Did they just run out of time or something?

So this is good then?

How pissed will I be thinking that "hey, that kid is not as good as Seiya as a Pegasus Saint"?

Because, from the gifs I've been watching, it's going to piss me off a lot.

And that's saying A LOT, because I fucking hate Seiya.

Well...
I know it's been said before, but damn is Kōga a whiny punk-ass bitch. Midorikawa's voice isn't helping either.

Watching episode 37 right now (Virgo).
Music is good.

The soundtrack is pretty good.
Indeed. It's the thing I enjoy the most about the show.

Edit:
Episode 38: It was good, nice special effects. Music is great and fitting.

That sure was an underwhelming end for the cool battle between
Fudo and Eden
:\ (episode 39).

Episode 40: Finally! I have been waiting for this. Let's see how this ends! :D

Edit:
Dammit! I enjoyed this episode. A lot. It was good. I seriously like Soma+Sonia.
How Soma and Eden developed the 7th sense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Yuna catalyst

The fights from Virgo to Scorpion have been fun (bad animation and drawing quality aside).

I think it had a good start...but once it got into the late 30's and 40's its started to feel like its lost that which made it shine alot. Sometimes I feel Im only watching it just to see Koga or Soma on screen, or I guess Eden too.

OP1 > OP2.

The series also keeps a good amount of time hating this pegasus saint too if it helps

I think it was a pretty alright episode, Yuna moments really ruined it. I wonder why does she continually have to get in the way and ruin the show. Why was she near Piskis and not with Haruto, Souma, and Ryuho? Piskis is really good (except for in a few camera angles) but I like his personality, not as good as Virgo Fudo, and Schiller, but still memorable.

Kouga should embrace the dark a bit more, that was a really epic scene when he broke free and stopped that spire. If he can go light or dark whenever, I think he may finally prove that he is a bit more powerful than even Eden. The lady with Mars seems to have dubious motives of sort, I was almost thinking they are setting her up to be the final boss and not Mars, though I dont know how many episodes are even left.

Episode 43

More shit. 3 lame eps in a row now. Amor is really ugly. The 4 kings are also awful designs. Everything in this show is getting uglier and uglier. Fights are lame. Characters are ugly. Art is bad. Animation is meh. Writing is kinda crap. Is this the price we have to pay for ep40? I wonder how many more bad episodes before that debt is paid. :(

Episode 40 is where I stopped. Not looking forward to the rest then... shame, cause I enjoyed 40 like... A LOT!

@44

Decent art (lots of obvious Umakoshi corrections) and some nice effects animation but this episode mostly just rendered the previous episode completely pointless.
After 10 episodes of making the audience wait for it, Kouga has been taken over by the Darkness... and then Yuna just asspulls a new power and deals with it before the commercial break.

Episode 44

I guess this was a little better than the last 3 episodes, but it was still pretty goddamn lolz. Dumb skill spam, stupid POWER OF BELIEVE nonsense, some pretty dodgy art and animation, all the enemies are still fucking ugly, etc. The saving grace in this episode is that some of the character close ups looked pretty good, and there were some decent effects. The biggest plus though, is that it looks like the long drawn out Gold Saint arc is finally coming to a close. The next episode should finally be the long awaited showdown between Koga and Mars. Hopefully it makes up for a whole month of bad episodes. I want to believe that we will get something as good as ep40 again. Come on Toei. Don't make me cry!

Kouga was really good there, love his darkness enhancement for quite some time, those developments though, was kind of disappointed how it turned out.
Imagine if he could go in and out of it at will, instead of having it sealed by Yuna...
Actually I dont even understand why one would even do that for their story. Other series at least let characters embrace it, control it, and get better with it. Souma gave the best action moment, loved Lionet Explosion so much, it felt so good.

Edens arrival was surprising

We can't give up
Believe in Koga
Koga won't give up

Repeat x 1000.

More entertaining than the last episode but still horrible. Bad animation, uninteresting fights, lots of moves still look horrible and have stupid names, characters look generic as usual (maybe because of the bad art). I expected at least that the
Dark Koga moments would be amazing with some cool moves or some nice fights between him and the four kings/Amor
but even that was bad.

Looking at the image above for two seconds felt more satisfying than the whole episode for me.

To summarize the series so far I think all of it has been quite bad and the few episodes with amazing animation and art does not make up for the rest of the trash. Everything in this series feels so bad when it could have been good. It just feels so dead, there's barely any excitement there and it sure doesn't help that I recently re-watched the Gold Saint Arc of Saint Seiya. Yet I keep coming back for the next episode each week :(

I actually felt that a short moment of episode 43 summarized my feeling about this show pretty well:

SS2.png

The highlights in this image almost shows all the characters I care (somewhat) about. What a shitty soulless show.

I'm really hoping that ep45 will have some fun action at least. It has the same animation director as ep33 and ep40! That gives me some hope! The preview looks decent too! :(
