Fantastic! Just need 360-like sticks now.
No and ffs can people stop bringing this up.

I liked that it was larger like the 360 controller.
You can say the same for a 360 controller though. Just imagine pressing the bumpers to aim/fire instead of the triggers. The bumpers only require a short press to fully activate; it's all or nothing. The triggers require you to fully depress the button all the way down until it aim/fires. Same thing with the PS3 controller... except the PS3 triggers are mushier.
Battlefield 3 SKS feels great with rapid tapping.I can fire guns WAY faster with R1 than I can with the 360 trigger. In Black Ops 2, the FAL, which is semi automatic, I can fire that thing quick with R1. With the 360 trigger, it feels like I have to press "more" to shoot it at the same speed.

Oh ok.I liked that it was larger like the 360 controller.
Would you rather have aesthetics or comfort? Not saying you can't have both but if you could only pick one.
360 is a little too heavy for my taste
I thought the face buttons were only pressure sensitive on PS2 (causing me major headaches in MGS2-3), are you sure PS3's were too?
That controller looks kinda ugly IMO.
That controller looks kinda ugly IMO.
Most definitely. I wouldn't be able to play GT otherwise, having pressure sensitive buttons for acceleration and brakes help immensely. Hopefully they keep them for the PS4.
God damn it.
Hopefully the retail controllers don't have those god awful concave sticks. Gross.
This has probably been discussed before, but what's with the light bar on top of the controller?
Is it motion control related?
Would be a bit bizarre having motion control on a dual shock...the form factor doesn't really work at all.
Its the move wand built into the controller. If that is the default controller, than the PS4 will probably come with the camera packed in.
where is the other shot from polygon?
But the move controller really needs to be something you hold in one hand, not two.
Imagine trying to play Sports Champions with an entire dual shock. Awkward and bulky. Needs to be split.
I don't know anything about sports champions, but it could work for a lightgun game for instance.
One thing that I'm interested to know. Do the journalists working at the bigger outlets like IGN have to pretend that they haven't seen multiple versions of the devkit already? There's sort of a veiled dance some of them are doing, obviously knowing more than they can let on, but not really committing to the illusion either.
So like the original PS3 design, I was a bit shocked at first but it's growing on me pretty quickly.
This isn't even the final form though, so it can really only get better from here.

I was really hoping for a split controller, oh well. For a prototype this looks fine. Sticks look like a nice concave/convex compromise and the d-pad looks great.
Needs to be thinner. Let's hope the final build is.
That controller looks kinda ugly IMO.
removed the noise.

I don't think I would classify any controller as being appealing aesthetically.
It's..... an interesting design. I'm wondering at the inclusion of the touchscreen though. Is it going to serve a practical purpose, or was it just something shoe-horned into the design to copy Nintendo and their niche-tastic controllers.
After that larger image was posted am I the only one who thinks the ports above the Ps4 devkit look like Gamecube controller ports? Apologies if this has been mentioned, haven't been able to follow every page of this thread.

do we know where the image is from? do we know any PS3 developers that worked on wii games that could work on PS4?

That is a GC devkit on top of the PS4 one.
