Destructoid: PS4 controller prototype & devkit photo, [Up: New Photo/Info In OP]

Exactly. I couldn't have asked for anything more in a controller. This has everything. Let's hope the battery life ain't shit.

It's a good successor to Dualshock 3.

touch screen instead of touch pad

but that would probably be too damn expensive and probably very difficult to implement assuming it has move built-in

The little speaker grille, you ask? Pepper spray.

lol

the d-pan on the latest version looks really good.

I like it a lot.

The LED bar is the white thingy you see at the top of the controller?
So I guess all PS4s will have some move functionality. And I bet the camera will come with the console?

+ Longer grips
+ Vita D-Pad
+ More ergonomic shape
+ Wider overall than the DS3
+ Improved sticks

Hot damn Sony, it looks perfect. Now lemme see dem triggers.

I suppose the headset jack will more easily allow them to bundle a headset?

Just as long as they don't take away bluetooth and usb options, I guess this can't be a bad thing to add to the controller.

Thought it looked alright from the first picture, but that second picture looks great! I want that controller in my hands right now.

It needs a USB slot on there so I can use my turtlebeach headsets :/

I feel like alot of people are missing the fact that its touchpad and not a touchscreen.

its more driven by the fact that something like that is present in the Wii U

and despite the lack of innovative 3rd party support in this first few months I really believe that it will capture the imagination of a few developers and we will see something meaningful for hardcore gamers using the touchscreen

obviously a touchpad is much more limited

I'm worried about the possible lack of triggers. Please no more mushy gas pedals. The Move has good triggers so they at least should use something similar. Otherwise the controller looks good.

The Move triggers are frigging great, and gives me a lot of hope that this will have that style as well.

I'm really curious what they plan to do with the move functionality since the controller doesnt split

My guesses...

The "after touch" style aiming in the Vita Uncharted worked strangely well, so there's that.

The Portal 2 DLC let's you do some extra tricks with Move not possible with the regular controller... I.e. pick up object, extend arms forward to move object forward without moving or changing aim, pull back to retract... You get an extra axis to play with basically.

Also improves accuracy on all the typical sixaxis-style moves, like a quick flick of the controller in the air to reload.

That said I'm pretty sure it will just be a nice option, and the light wont even be on when it's not being actively used. The Move wand doesn't even use the camera to navigate the xmb.

The leaks say the triggers have been changed "for the better". No pics yet though.

Oh man, I really hope they keep the spongy triggers, precisely because you just described them as gas pedals. They felt perfect as accelerator/brake in GT5.
