The lead up was great. Then gameplay hit and its generic. Old school shooters with close quarters combat made the guns feel powerful, meaningful. This is like the mid distance 3 round burst in COD. Sure its effective but so boring.
 
Could someone gif the part where the character climbs the edge after taking out the sniper. There is lots of fire there and a red lense flare. I want a gif of that flare right before he jumps down to knife.
 
Guerrilla need to ditch those AWFUL hitmarkers. Such a small thing but completely ruins the impact of the shots. Terrible trend in shooters. Everyone should play shooters with no cross hair anyway.

The game was probably played on easy with infinite health for demo purposes.

That said, I thought it was a terrible demonstration, the guy playing was awful and the gameplay looked like old hat.

Don't tell me you honestly believe that the game on normal is going to have guys die that fast? This is a live demo where they don't want the dude sitting in cover taking his time slugging it out with bad guys.

I think Max Payne 3 had it the best where you had a normal crosshair (or dot) and when you killed the enemy the crosshair and the screen would briefly flash. It feels extremely satisfying and you don't have to deal with hitmarkers distracting you from the action.

Click the arrow icon and it should download. But it's only the trailer, not the gameplay vid (there is also a ~900MB trailer for Infamous). VLC had some problems with those files for me, Quicktime player did work.

This gameplay video has imo acceptable quality at 1080p.

Pretty much agree, the game looks beautiful, but the gameplay didn't look typically KZ. I think I need to see more. I wonder what they have planned for MP.
 
Aside from the graphics a few things stood out to me.

-It looks like you can climb ledges by yourself now? No partner or squad this time?
-Whats the blue effect a the bottom of the screen that comes on Slow-mo mode?
 
Goddamn, what I really liked about this event is Guerrilla's and Evolution's redemption for their own infamous 2005 renders. Yesterday, everything they showed was real and working, and looked not even a bit less spectacular.


PS3's KZ2 and 3 almost nailed that target render. PS4's Shadow Fall shatters it.

Also, I like new font for the title. Very classy.
 
Are the videos really from gameplay? Coz what's with the slomo moments? KZ4 has maxpayne bullet time now?

Multiplayer better have vehicles, tanks, jets and shit. I feel the KZ franchise should target the BF3 crowd, not COD, unless they go 60fps.
 
The demo looked truly amazing in 1080p.

Can't believe some folks making threads that PS4 is not a significant step up from the best of the best on PS3 and current gen...even some journalists saying this BS, come on now, who are you kidding ... this is close to Crysis level shit and this is just the beginning
 
To me, the only thing that this game is missing has to be motion blur and slightly better animations. Other than that...
Motion blur was there, just a lot more subtle. I'm fine with that. Subtle, high sampled motion blur can be a lot more effective and maintain image quality. Animation will definitely improve.


Great info. Really glad to hear costs aren't going up much.
 
Have to say that I was a little disappointed by the gameplay itself. It all seemed pretty similar to the stuff we already have.

Hope that the actual game opens up a little more.

Graphics are beyond amazing though.
 
Wow. That 1080p video was glorious. Many parts looked much better than C3.

Now I understand why You didnt like Crysis 3 and complain about it in every thread, You just dont understand tech behind it. There is no really one part that looks better than Crysis 3, except for art. Seriously, i cant think of even one thing in this footage that is technically superior to what CE 3.5 is doing.

Exactly what I have been trying to say. People who can't seem to see the jump need to take a hard look at this comparison. They are missing all of the little details that are right in your face, if you know what to look for.
