Anyone else find it extremely hard to actually see what he's shooting at in the youtube video. I really wish developers would learn to refine their gaming experiences, the graphics are nice, but when they're interfering with gameplay, I can't help but hate them.

1080p is glorious!

Love this gif, that guy's animations is so akward in a funny way.

I can very simply share with you that when we did Killzone 2 and 3, we probably maxed out with a team size of 125. We have 150 now, so it's marginally bigger. This is about a two-and-a-half year development cycle, which is roughly similar. It includes a hardware transition, so that explains potentially the six months of extra time.

It's actually quite comparable. But if you look at the scale of what we're doing and the detail in not just the assets but the more believable detailed animation and things like that, the effects, I think a lot of the effort has gone into tools. Making sure we can develop smart.

We've also learned a thing or two in previous installments on the PlayStation 3. So it's not, in terms of the cost, it's not as scary as maybe some people have led you to believe.

There's more art outsourcing, but that's not necessarily very expensive. We're outsourcing between double and triple [from previous games]. There's a lot of art.

That 1080p footage is just... unbelievable.

Can't wait to see this when it's fully polished.

Just noticed the player is on the Helghast side of the wall at the end, I really like this idea actually.

Umm, wow...

WTF at those buildings and such down at the bottom, they look... quite bad, understandably, but I would've expected more from PS4 from what I thought before, that looks pretty jarring.

Haha, never seen a city from above? I swear that looks like a futuristic version of Sao Paolo with all the buildings clustered together...

The video is pretty impressive, but the performance is a little dicey. I know, this is alpha, maybe pre-alpha, and it wasn't wholly built on PS4's current spec, and it's a launch game, etc. But games can be as beautiful as they like, but we can't have another generation of games bobbing around randomly in the mid twenties of framerate.

I have to post here and follow this thread. It reminds me too much of the legendary Killzone 2 thread that led me to GAF.

This is going to be good.

They look great for me. The more subdued colors I think are an effect of altitude or fog. In terms of detail at that draw distance they seem great.

Do they have a full 8GB of GDDR5 RAM to play with? I thought the point of having 8GB was to enable all the background features, such as game save states. Sure it's unified, but some of it will be off limits.

After seeing Killzone 3, I know that this isn't the full potential of the PS4. I know it is early in the console generation, but when you see them get every ounce of performance out of the PS3, you know that the PS4 has so much it can do.

Killzone: Shadow Fall, to me, looks like a PS3 game without restraint. If they were making a PS3 game, and had no limits. That is to be expected, and the game does look great, but what I am more excited for is what's to come.

Pretty much.

It looks like a PS3 game with some fancy effects.

Yep, I'll take resolution over framerate.

And I would rather have it the other way around. I'm not quite sure if it's the 30fps showing or the animations but the game definetly lacks fluidness IMO. Other than that the game looks good but I'm not blown away.

still find it funny how he threw the knife and missed...
wondering if the personalization would allow individual gamer pics to be the picture of that officer instead

That 1080p footage was mind blowing. That said, the game looks like it is still in VERY early stage of development. They used the EXACT same soldier model throughout the entire pre-combat section of the demo, and there were about 2 or 3 civilian models.
