I played the first part of Vanquish and I need a rest.
Also how do I do cool shit in the game aka this
Weapons have different melee attacks (though some weapons share the same move).
In this, he's got the heavy machine gun equipped it looks like. So, he back-pedals and tosses a grenade, then does the HMG's melee attack (which is I believe a front kick that results in a back flip), though he doesn't do it against any enemy, just "whiffs," then while in the air aims, which causes slow motion, changes to the shotgun for some reason (show off), and shoots the grenade.
Good god... this game. I still have to go back and complete that last brutal challenge some time.
Duffyside if youre reading this, hats off to you man, I dont know how you cleared that one without wanting to snap your joypad in half or punch your fist through the screen.
Some day, Im gonna totally isolate myself and waste a week building/scheming a strategy for that one.
Haha, thanks. I did want to snap my controller in half though, because one of the game's few flaws is that you can't practice specific waves. In both Challenge 4 and 6, I could get to certain waves pretty much every time, but then would get creamed as I had no idea even what I was facing or where they were coming from, and then I'd have to go back and do the 10 - 15 minutes that I knew I could do again and again.
For Challenge 6 this was especially brutal, as I could at first get to Wave 3 with 80% success, only to get creamed. Then finally after hours I could get past that with about 60% success, and then get murdered. Then, finally, I could get up to and past Wave 4 with about 30% efficiency, only to get annihilated. Blech.
Would've been so nice if the game said "hey, you got to this Wave, so we'll let you practice it freely so you can learn it, but you still need to beat them all in succession to get the trophy."
Anyway, good luck to you. I got so frustrated redoing the Waves again and again that I ended up adopting a youtube strategy that had me laying my crosshairs on specific parts of geometry between waves with a mental countdown so that I would know exactly where to throw my grenades as the enemies teleported in. Heh, I could only follow the strategy up until the warp-in of Wave 3 though, as it just gets way too hectic to have any "plan" after that.
