Got a question fellow gaffers, I downloaded the 1 hour trial of ME3 a while back and played my hour, also kept the game on the hard drive. Can I somehow just continue the game when the update hits, download the full game upgrade or what? Would be really nice to just continue on without re-downloading the game.
Yes you can, just launch the game when the update hits that will be reactivated.
... I didn't know you could play them on your main account and get the trophies.

... I... I'm gonna get PS Plus EU. Double-dippin'!
My main acc is from US, and I play games purchased (or PS+) from PSN UK and JP with no problem.

I hope that Sony doesn’t change that with PS4, because is so convenient.

This makes me think... if all games on PS4 will be Day 1 Digital, as I expect they will be, would this be a way to get around region-locking if it were to occur?

If they implemented the same way that it is on PS3, No, because is locked on console region and not the acc.

Persona 4 Arena for example, both disc and digital are locked this way.

Holy crap. Spectacular month again. Haven't played/bought any of those games yet. I picked up a Vita a few weeks ago and i think it's become one of the best purchases i've ever made. So psyched to replay the Metal Gears again.

I haven't played any of the Mass Effect games before. Is it still worth playing ME3? (have no intention to buy the previous games)

No. You should play at least the second game before ME3, though playing the first one as well is highly recommended.

Eh. Now I have to get Mass Effect 1 and 2... is it possible to buy the US versions and use the import feature or would I have to get the European versions of both?

You need the European version or else ME3 won't recognize a save file.

Nope. If the disc version of a game is region locked then the digital version would be region locked as well (as is the case with Persona 4 Arena - anyone can buy it, but in order to play it you need a PS3 from the same region as the PSN store that you used to buy it).

Got it. Maybe I can help out my EU brothers by streaming the game, and having them give me the commands they want me to input over the phone?

Is this confirmed? I would be very sad if it is indeed true. My Asian FFXIII save was recognized by my European FFXIII-2.

Then again, this is EA.

This being an EA game doesn't have anything to do with it. I had a US Tekken 6 and Tekken Hybrid save data on my PS3, but got an EU TTT2. If you had save data from those games, you'll get a few bonuses in TTT2, but due to different regions for my save data I didn't get any bonuses. Not that it matter though since TTT2 is brilliant as is~

Like I said for FFXIII2, I had a European copy and it recognized my save from an Asian FFXIII copy, so it works for some games.

A great month for me. I did not have ME3, Dead or alive or Joe stuff.

Do I need to go through ME1 et ME2 to enjoy ME3 ?
You probably should play them first to have a better understanding of what's going on and who all of those horny space people are, but if internet outrage is any indication, you're more likely to enjoy ME3 if you don't play the first two.

Where's a good place to buy EU PS+ account if you're living in the States?

If you have a credit card, try using it to buy stuff from EU Store or webstore. Paypal can be used to add funds to your account now BTW.
Just use sonyentertainmentnetwork.com, log in and add funds.

Come on Sony announce a price drop for the goddamn vita memory cards...
I really want a vita but I can't get over having to pay fucking 90 euros for a 32GB card, it's ridiculous.

All these shiney psn+ games are no good if I can't store them.

How should i take that ? so ME3 directly ? well, I 'll tray (once i've finished my ps+ backlog). spending too much on highscoring Pinball arcade....
By the way, i haven't connected (yet) to Darksiders 2. Would greatly appreciate a higher framerate...

Not really anything to do with PS+, but was hoping someone could answer this, please. Just wondering if it's possible to find out how much times you can install a particular game onto multiple PS3s? I wanted to log in to my brother's PS3 so that I could install some of my downloaded games on his PS3 so that he can play them, but not sure if there's a way to find out how many installs each of my games has.

Thanks for the help!

the EU blog site doesn't open to me for some reason. I take it the free stuff for March go up next week on Wednesday or Friday?

Thanks for the advice earlier, I'm waiting for confirmation on using the paypal route. And the EU stuff goes up March 6th.

this update has been really annoying for me. bought mass effect 3 a while ago in what i thought was a good deal (£21 or something), mgs hd collection i really want but on ps3 not sodding vita. dead or alive i can not be bothered with.

it's like they pick all the games i buy in the offers and put them up for free the next month, they did the same with sleeping dogs last month (already had that).

You have Plus. Stop buying games.

If i have PS+ on both ps3 and vita, can i download the free vita game on my ps3 and later transfer it to my vita? Asking because i may be able to get a vita in a couple of months and by that time the current free vita games like MGS won't be available.

You don't need to download the game, just complete the purchase on the PS3/web store and it's yours. The Vita games will be on your download list.

So yeah, everyone should be "purchasing" the Vita games even if they don't own the system.

I'd refrained from commenting on the March UK update since I didn't want to be seen as the sole dissenting voice, but this is exactly my problem with high-profile freebies: odds are good I've already played them. Now, I don't play every game. No one has the time. But I do play most of the major releases, and Mass Effect 3? Come on, that's a blockbuster, of course I've played it. Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 as well (though admittedly not on Vita, but still). The same holds true of much of the UK's big games.

That's not to say I'd complain if Mass Effect 3 were a freebie, but it'd be a wasted one for me as well. I much prefer good games that aren't as high-profile. Vanquish fits the bill perfectly, as do many of the PSN releases.

Though it's true that Plus gives you a ridiculous amount of games to play, you know most recent releases won't be among them. Given that it takes at least a year for most games to appear on the service, there is still good reason to buy recent retail games provided you can get them at a good price.

Totally. I've been "downloading" all the Vita games... expect to get one at some point in the future, but likely awaiting a price drop.

My big hope is that Plus for PS3 still gets solid support for at least a couple years into the PS4's lifespan. I'm not sure I'll go next-gen in much of a hurry.

If you are in the US can you use the same credit card you use for your US PSN account if you create a UK account to get Plus in that region or do you need to use a different one?

I think you could argue the point that Sony is now using Instant Game Collection as a sort of introductory service for those late on the PS3, and to an extent as part of a reach out to prospective Vita owners. If you can take that logic then it makes sense that we're getting games that have already been in the consciousness of the more "hardcore" gamer. I'd actually love to know the process behind which games get chosen for the IGC ; how much it costs which vested interest, whether sales of DLC are a major factor in picking the games and soforth.

I agree that it's unfortunate that sometimes we get games we've already played ; for me personally though, the chance to play a lot of games I wouldn't have been able to afford or might not have necessarily been interested far outweighs the chance I've bought and enjoyed a game already.

There's honestly no need to ever buy a retail game for the Vita. All of its best games are turning up on Plus.

In what universe could you have a library for a year old console for only £40 that includes:

MGS HD Collection
Jet Set Radio
Mortal Kombat
Wipeout 2048
Gravity Rush
Uncharted
Lumines

What's more ridiculous is that £40 is something I had already happily paid and got fantastic value from. I've not spent anything more than I was already spending and yet I now have this fantastic library for my Vita.

Best deal in gaming, even Steam sales can't match it.

I played the first part of Vanquish and I need a rest.

Also how do I do cool shit in the game aka this

Damn it, I just bought DOA5!! (still super happy about ME3, thinking about doubledipping for 1 and 2 as well now...also bring on ME3 MP again muhahaha!)

PS+ is seriously awesome. If they bring an equal service for PS4 (though I suspect it would be more expensive) it'd be amazing.

You trigger the dodge / bullet time and shoot the grenade (though not sure what kind of grenade it is, haven't played in a while).

Good god... this game. I still have to go back and complete that last brutal challenge some time.

Duffyside if youre reading this, hats off to you man, I dont know how you cleared that one without wanting to snap your joypad in half or punch your fist through the screen.

Some day, Im gonna totally isolate myself and waste a week building/scheming a strategy for that one.

Yeah vanquish is exhausting on my eyes. So much crazy shit happening in that game like entire buildings falling apart on the battlefield or a gigantic ship crashing while I'm fighting 30 guys. People have said it's like a 5 hour game but I just got to Act 4 and I feel like I've been playing for 20 hours already.

Derrick01 if you can beat Tactical Challenge 6 your gamer cred will go up 1000000%.

Weapons have different melee attacks (though some weapons share the same move).

In this, he's got the heavy machine gun equipped it looks like. So, he back-pedals and tosses a grenade, then does the HMG's melee attack (which is I believe a front kick that results in a back flip), though he doesn't do it against any enemy, just "whiffs," then while in the air aims, which causes slow motion, changes to the shotgun for some reason (show off), and shoots the grenade.

Haha, thanks. I did want to snap my controller in half though, because one of the game's few flaws is that you can't practice specific waves. In both Challenge 4 and 6, I could get to certain waves pretty much every time, but then would get creamed as I had no idea even what I was facing or where they were coming from, and then I'd have to go back and do the 10 - 15 minutes that I knew I could do again and again.

For Challenge 6 this was especially brutal, as I could at first get to Wave 3 with 80% success, only to get creamed. Then finally after hours I could get past that with about 60% success, and then get murdered. Then, finally, I could get up to and past Wave 4 with about 30% efficiency, only to get annihilated. Blech.

Would've been so nice if the game said "hey, you got to this Wave, so we'll let you practice it freely so you can learn it, but you still need to beat them all in succession to get the trophy."

Anyway, good luck to you. I got so frustrated redoing the Waves again and again that I ended up adopting a youtube strategy that had me laying my crosshairs on specific parts of geometry between waves with a mental countdown so that I would know exactly where to throw my grenades as the enemies teleported in. Heh, I could only follow the strategy up until the warp-in of Wave 3 though, as it just gets way too hectic to have any "plan" after that.

Hey guys, if any of you got a Vita recently Sony's about to stop doing the referral program. Here's my link (If this isn't allowed, I can take it down) in case any of you want to get a $20 to put towards a PS+ subscription. ;)

Also, been playing Vanquished, in love with it. As soon as I beat it I'm moving on to Binary Domain.
