DriveClub (Evolution Studios/PS4) announcement trailer. [PS3 WHEELS ARE SUPPORTED]

If I was Polyphony, I'd get into partnership with Evolution and split the work. More cars digitized than before, with both collaborating with each other for each other's game. In return, Evolution can consider this a GT spinoff and Polyphony has the rights to adapt any successful idea that Evolution brings to Driveclub.

To be honest, this shouldn't even be a consideration for PD, it should be an obligation made by Sony. There is zero reason NOT to share assets. Zero. None.

I hope Sony isn't planning on shutting down all news on these games until E3. One of the most annoying things that Nintendo did was go completely silent after they announced the Wii U. I'm not saying that they need to let developers say everything, but making them go completely silent seems like a mistake. They need to keep their momentum going into E3.

The more and more I hear about DriveClub the closer it gets to being a day one purchase for me.

I love evolution studios. And most likely will get drive club day one. But if their focus is on team racing wouldn't it be sensible to think that there will be A LOT of cosmetic customization a la Forza? How else will my team differentiate from all the others?

And with the track pad, drawing could be much much easier.

Anyone agree? Rushy?

Yeah it definitely seems likely. Not sure about the track pad (touchpad?) thing though.

I still need to get Motorstorm Apocalypse. I highly enjoyed Pacific Rift. Played countless hours.

There have been a lot of questions in regards to whether Driveclub is a Simulation or Arcade racer, and whilst this doesn't go to full extent of answering that question hopefully it'll give you a slightly better idea of the intentions behind the handling:

Sounds like PGR which is good, slowly, but carefully, getting hyped about this game. I have been burned by Motorstorm 1 (load times, lack of split screen, etc) and Motorstorm 2 (load times still there, horrible rubberband, unrealistic trophies/challenges, etc).

Also make sure it's compatible with racing wheels like G27 and the move controller frankestein (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/playstation-move-racing-wheel-ps3.html). Sony should actually do a bundle with that wheel to get some sales for this game.

You're expecting some leaks from DPS?

Yeah, that is what the Assetto Corsa devs call GT5/Forza.

I would like the to model the handling of 500 cars. I know what Kunos and Aris are doing in that department and honestly, you can't do that kind of things in a game ( or sim, or arcade, or watever ) with a selection of cars that wide.

Not just from there. The developers clearly want to talk about the game more. Loosen the grip a little and let them talk about it. And allow them to continue to release media for the games. Even if its just an occasional screenshot.

I am really hoping for a 60fps game. It's not that I mind 30fps at all given how much fun with NFS:HP and Motorstorm.

If you reread it, you'll see that is what I said.

I'm hoping for a 30 fps game from them. GT6 will be our 60 fps racing game.

not only this game but talking about PS4 games till E3 will be a huge mistake, Sony need to keep people talking about the thing to keep the hype going, releasing info about this and other game (they should even try to hint about some unannounced games in development) that will be better for them.

Great, thanx for this.

Rushy, please can I request a feature to be added. HUD opacity a la Motorstorm. My plasma would thank you greatly.

I really love the handling in PGR/Forza Horizon so "SimCade" sounds good to me. G27 support?

Hey Rushy, ask SCEE to share assets between Polyphony Digital and Evolution studios! :P

I know some guys here hate old/prototype cars ..

but I want this to be in the game.

I think Sony needs to focus on their games that are coming and drop some hints/talk about PS4 games/features/dev interviews/etc every couple of weeks until E3 and then continue the cycle until about a month or two before the PS4 release and then go into market overdrive then. They still want to sell you games like GOWA, Beyond, and TLOU. Looking at the amount of commercial I'm seeing for GOWA lately, that seems to be what they are doing.

I don't think he'll answer, but if they aren't doing it, then that goes with the whole Sony philosophy of not having synergy between sister studios.

G27 support is a must, as is move wheel controller IMO.

What current games would you say are closest to that goal of SIM-Arcade balance?

PGR? GRID? Shift? Horizon?

and what is the balance between driving out in the sticks Vs through cities?

Actually that raises an interesting question - would you rather have PGR handling out on country roads on on a track, or GRID handling in a city? PGR was IMO a 60:40 split between handling:location. PGR in the countryside is much less appealing to me than PGR in Edinburgh.

Scanned car models are next gen? I don't find these games impressive? GT5 might look like the real deal but at some point in time, it'll be a close to 1:1 model with reality. Most car games look great - might not have the interiors etc but they already look good... Yes,
Even ridge racer 7to an extent.

I seriously hope this game isn't too simmy. Arcadey ala pgr would be great.

That DriveClub UI vs GT5's UI. Wow. See, that is why the studios should be collaborating. I'm hoping this game really impresses, if anything just to give Kaz a shake up.

this is what I like about DriveClub

the cars do not look like they made of plastic like in the other racing games(PGR,Blur,NFS MW,Forza,Grid and GT are all victims of this)

I'd guess the answer is probably no (or I'm really awful at searching) but they didn't release a somewhat high bitrate direct feed vídeo like the Killzone crew, right?
