NVIDIA to release GeForce Titan

Wrote the shop and asked them to exchange them for 2 x Gigabytes if possible, if they have two in stock and see it in time.
Call them. They can ignore emails, they can't ignore someone they are talking to.
Hmm, so what would you do in my situation? get another 4gb 680 or drop the one I have and go two titans? I dont feel its worth dropping the one 680 for one titan though.
Get a 120Hz monitor first. Then a second 680.

Maybe they speak English! I found that most people in Germany and Slovenia spoke better English than most people I know. :P
Well I love the 1080p monitor I already have :/ I just want Crysis 3 at 60 fps, maybe 680 sli would make it at 1080p?
Impossible if it's not 120Hz. Fact.

lmao. Sorry to hear about the mis-hap with your cards.

In good news, I just got tracking informaton from Newegg on 1 of the Titans and just called Evga and they are sending that one tonight as well. Should have my cards sometime around 5pm tomorrow evening. Only downside is the Fiancee wants to go to Disneyland on wednesday and then visit her brother and family on Thursday...oh well...she agreed to let me get the Titans, so I guess I can wait to get home to test them out.

lmao Mkenyon. I mean, I would jump all over a 120mhz if they made one in the 55" range and it would replace my HDTV. I just cant go to a small monitor and playing in a computer chair.

In my new "man cave" in the garage where I have a desk and all my tools and computer parts, I have 23" 1080p monitor. Been working on my rig, re-installing Windows8 onto the new SSD and replacing some fans etc. But just messing with the monitor, no way I can enjoy gaming on something that small when I am use to my 55" HDTV.

Really, they don't in Germany.

Germany is known in Europe for a country that doesn't like English, bit like France. They dub every single movie and they even have famous 'dubbers' over there. Speaking English with these people is next to impossible.

But I know the shop, they have a nice service and should respond to my message soon - I'm in no rush :)

Just realized that I'm left on stuck with my surround setup. So used to having 580 sli that I forgot that single cards only have 2 DVI-Dual ports. Won't be able to do Surround unless I buy a DisplayPort->DVI-D adapter and from what I've seen they are damn expensive. "But Smokey you are paying $2,000 for videocards. Cmon mayne". Nah I ain't about that $100+ adapter life. So I have to hope I made the first batch of pre-orders for the Asus or I could be SOL

Those monitors don't have DP inputs?

I'll look through all my stuff, see if I can find something.

You don't know what you're missing.

That's kind of like preferring a non-athletic lady with giant breasts vs. a gymnast. Go ahead and think you're having all the fun, but mine can fold in half.

Heh, funny, never used 120hz monitor, I am sure its the bee knees!

Seriously though, 2 x Titans or 2X 680s at 1080p? Is it worth the $ to step up to the 2 x Titans at 1080p?

I have to say, all the games I have tried with one 680 at 1080p have been smooth as butter except Metro 2033, Hitman and Crysis 3.

If getting the 2 x Titans would net me 60 fps for those games I would seriously consider it but if 2 x 680's would give me 60 fps in those games then the Titans right now wouldnt make much sense.

No. You could get 3 120hz monitors and another 680 and come out less than 2x Titans.

Woo just ordered the SC version. So now I'll have 2 EVGA Titans and I feel better. I'm assuming the SC version auto down clock when SLI'd with the standard edition?

I was planning on doing Titan but the price put me off, I picked up 2 x 670 GTX today. Figured I would let others know that may be in the same situation, amazon has these for 360 - 40 dollar rebate = 320 per card = 640 (if you have amazon card, 3% back on that) for same performance as 690 and higher performance than Titan. Of course you get the SLI draw backs, but I can live with those for 60% of the price. Not trying to start any wars, just wanted to pass along what I decided to do =) Oh also 150 dollars off F2P money ( I plan to sell on ebay)

No, they'll both go to the setting you'll be using which is higher than stock on both. Unless you are a total pansy.
What the hell is that
The poster that comes with the Titan.

I feel like hardware companies assume that *everyone* who buys their products is either 16-23 years old or has the aesthetic taste of a 16-23 year old. What 16-23 year old can afford a Titan?

You can buy passive adapter for fraction of cost and it will work for 1920x1080p displays.

If you get a regular season game here in Seattle, I'll save a seat for you. Working on getting from row X to row A-J near the 50. Close enough to where Schaub's blood might actually hit you when he gets destroyed.

Not @ 120hz

lol at the german comments
Man I wouldn't mind having a titan or 2 to play with. Seems like I haven't played a pc game in forever.

I think you'd be surprised just how many people would dig that Titan poster. Expensive video cards are still largely the domain of mega-nerds with no sense.

The Idle Thumbs riffed on this. GPU box and promotion art is still stuck in the 90s for no justifiable reason at all. They take some of the most sophisticated pieces of consumer electronics ever made and put cheesy, bad CG and one liners all over it.

I think it's hilarious. I would totally display that ironically.
