I can't wait to see BF4 on PS4. If the rumors of 1080p, 60fps, 64 players, and enhanced destruction are true it's going to be multiplayer bliss.

Come on now... If that's the case then next gen is going to be unreal. Somehow I doubt it will be 1080p though, for 60 fps I wouldn't mind.

Tbh I think I've had more fun on 32man bf3 servers than 64 for all but like 2 maps. I didn't buy any of the dlc though, pc broke.

Photos require art direction as well.

I've only seen screenshots but I'm a big fan of the art.

The thing about the crysis games, I think everyone will agree that they're very pretty game technically. But there are a lot of people that really don't like the art direction in them.

I'm one of them personally, I known the games are technical marvels. But there are plenty of games I think look better, even though they're technically way behind the crysis games.

I would love to see crytek make a new ip that focuses less on realism, and more on something driven more by a unique art style.

It's kind of weird that all of Sonys first parties use different engines. You'd think they would out all their resources into one pot and come up with an amazing middleware solution that is scalable for the different developers under Sony

Not really. They make games that will have very different priorities and some stuff may work well for one team and not another. Might as well just let each studio play to their strengths instead of finding some kind of average between all of them.

KZ3 and especially KZ2 had a lot of problems, but I'm still hopeful for this. Having such a large portion of the demo devoted to the helicopter on rails thing was very disappointing though.

I sincerely hope though for this title they bring back the jetpack. It was legitimately awesome and somewhat unique in use. Mechs and jetpacks, the non-standard FPS portions, were the best part of the games. In fact just give the jetpack to the player for the whole game as far as I'm concerned.

It is called knowing what you are talking about.

Having played through it top to bottom, it's a tad over rated visually, but you don't get to really see that with everyone going all ENB on it a la Skyrim. There are some very nice moments though and some amazing tech coupled with some archaic encounter design due to enemy AI and the like. It's very clear how limited it is by the console ports though, to the point being dated by that. The new baseline will be amazing, but it doesn't stand up to Shadowfall because it can't (though the modelling itself, for main characters faces, is in a class of its own aside from taking second place to things like Beyond).

The jetpack was alright, but I don't want to see it again.

I've said it before, but Guerrilla should take a bit off Mirror's Edge and add platforming to really mix things up and bring this series to the next level. Just imagine the possibilities in Vekta.

Platforming in Multiplayer? Could be good...or terrible.

Fuck all the graphics talk. This bitch better have dedicated servers for MP or........

NO SALE MOTHAFUCKAS!

GFX are awesome though!

So would it be more akin to Brink, Prey 2 and Crysis 2 as well? Games with an emphasis on verticality and traversal? I see nothing wrong with that as long as it's properly implemented

What do you guys expect from multiplayer?

I recall hearing that Eric Bjoltes is back at GG. He and his team really struck gold with Warzone, then that Mercs 2 dev screwed everything up with Killlzone 3 after Eric's departure. They increased the level size drastically, tossed in mechs, and substantially reduced weapon recoil so kills were made absurdly easy. All of this combined resulted in people dying long before they ever got close to objectives, creating a chaotic clusterfuck out of what was previously an awesome approach to objective based multiplayer.

I hope we see a return to the strengths of Killzone 2's Warzone mode, with additional improvements necessary to fix Killzone 2's problems (spawning on objectives, etc.). And I hope they keep Killzone 3's additional multiplayer modes, which were genuinely good additions to the series.

Well you basically just hit the nail on the head. Was there anything from Brink that would be worth carrying over?

Man they just absolutely don't want any of the old cast to return do they.
finally have a good opportunity then they set the game 30 years later.

RIP Templar, Luger, Hakka and even original Rico,
so much better than boring ass Sev

Shadow Fall is unfinished, utilizing less than 2 GB of memory, and 8 months from launch. I've heard the final product will blow minds. This game will top Crysis 3 in some ways significantly, but if you want to talk hardcore numbers, I doubt you will see something that can destroy Crysis on a Geforce Titan running at 60 hz in stereo. We are talking about hardware that costs more than 1k.

This will set the new bar no doubt :). Atleast that's how Guerilla feeels :).

I genuinely enjoyed Operations and they could keep TDM and FFA for those who are into that sort of thing. Keeps them out of Warzone.

I like to think there is a healthy rivalry between Guerilla and Naughty Dog :). Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3 are technically most impressing games on the PS3 for me, even more so than what I have seen of GoWA tho I need to play it on my screen to really judge. I still give a small advantage to ND cause I think the graphics are easier for the eyes. I dunno how to explain it, they are cleaner without being sterile. But KZSF is already really good looking game and definately enough for me to justify getting a new console. It blows PS3 out of the planet.

Is this really confirmed?

Feels like he's dodging the question. That's the actual game director...if he doesn't know this shit, that's hilarious, in a pathetic kind of way.

Sounds to me like he doesn't know how much RAM graphics will use in the final game. Apparenly the rumour is that the devkit that demo was made with didn't have unified memory but 1.5 locked on graphics. I dunno?

What a weird response. I get that directors don't have to be programmers, but it would have taken him no more than 30 seconds to find an answer.

Okay guys. I'm confused. From that little run, it looked like the isa soldier jumped off at the edge of a wall in one video and on the other it looked like he jumped of on top of a building in the middle of a city? what am i missing here peoples?

EDIT: Both are on the edge. But did they live side by side with the helghast before?I'm missing something here?

You obviously don't understand game development.

The game director doesn't handle the technical and programming aspects of development.

The biggest worry right now is the games at Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, and Guerilla NEED to look good enough to "wow" people. Imagine how Guerilla felt when the majority of shit journalists, GAF, and tech heads wrote them off as inferior to Crysis 3. The game has a long way to go, but still, they have their work cut out. For the first party to be known as tech heads and be compared infavorably to Capcom, says a lot and must put tons of pressure.

Well that is game director I asked tech @ Guerilla"

They still don't give details. Also He mentioned that they will give tech talk like they did with Killzone 2 in future (like SPU ussage memory etc)

It's based on Berlin during the cold war. It's 30 years after the Killzone 3 ending (i won't spoil what happened). The remaining helghast probably were offered to have a settlement on Vekta to make up for the horrible act that mofo Rico did :P.

It looks like Vekta is devided into a prosperous vivid part and an industrial gritty Helghan part.

He is standing on "The Wall"

Hellgast? Really?

I feel like they've already taken gunplay to it's greatest height with Killzone 2, but that the series could still use a little something else to make it stand out even further. Traversal would be perfect.

I wouldn't want it to be too ridiculous, or an all out parkour fest, because Killzone still needs to feel like war... I'd just give the character an unequipped option where he has most of the free running abilities of Mirror's Edge, and design some of the game around that. Especially the parts where you find yourself alone or with limited company.

What the hell is up TotalHalibut, he's all emotional and shit. lmao

I don't like all that name calling. I think Killzone:SF looks good, but personally I'm not a fan of the blue/orange haze lightning, for example.
And with all the features of Cryengine 3 (Water Caustics/Pixel accurate displacement mapping etc.) I can see why people could prefer Crysis 3 over Killzone:SF

I just got word from a very reliable source about the visual jump between final release and the preview you saw at the Sony event last week. I won't give names or specifics, but I asked how much of an improvement we were going to see, and he mentioned:

"jump is going to be GOOD. vyery GOOOOD :)"

I left the typo in.

Eh, I only made a joke (perhaps in poor taste) because of his amusing name...I don't have a clue who is and have no problem with his having an opinion

I remember reading a while back that Sony had teams within their first party studios dedicated to building dev tools to optimize their engines. I also remember a lot of chatter about first party studios exchanging notes/code to get stuff working on PS3.
