lol I had a few months of US PS+ and can't remember one REALLY good game I played. The last 2 months I've had it they had nothing but awful additions. I got a free code for EU PS+ and got Sleeping Dogs, Limbo, Vanquish, etc..
I'm not sure, I got mine a week or so after putting in a $20 gift card and buying a couple of things. Could be a coincidence though.

I think they said it was a random selection. They probably shouldn't have put the whole "loyal customer" thing in there.

They've been handing out EU trial codes like candy since November. Off the top of my head there was the Discovery giveaway, the Facebook giveaway, the PS France giveaway, & the IGN UK giveaway last week.You're right! That's insane. Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere in the thread, but I was wondering: when I download games from the instant games collection on the PS+, it seems I don't need to "buy" the games anymore, they just start downloading immediatly.
Which is nice because it was a bit ridiculous to go all the way to checkout to get free games.
But do I need to download all the games to make sure I can play them as long as I have a ps+ membership? Is adding them to the queue and then canceling the download enough?
My ps3's hdd is not THAT big.

Damn... that's a nice lineup. EU PS+ really does crap all over NA. Sadly I'm in NA. :-/
QUESTION about PS+: after I've "purchased" a game in the Instant Game Collection, can I always download it in the future as long as I'm PS+? Or do I need to keep it on my HDD after it expires from the Instant Game Collection on PSN?

They updated the store sometime in the past few weeks so free stuff (including plus games) automatically go through checkout and begin downloading. If you just want them on your download list just begin the download, you can cancel it right after. Or you can avoid the shitty store altogether and switch to the SEN store. As a plus, the SEN store still lets you add to cart and checkout.

It'll always be in your Download List as long as your sub is active. If you lapse, it'll disappear from your list but it will all reappear the next time you sub.

Cool, I sold off my disc ver. but Capcom has to reduce the size of it, 18 GB is too fucking much.
JAW are actually REDUCING the size of the PS3 ver. of Stranger's Wrath HD, if a small dev can do it, baka Capcom can too.

Just go through the checkout process - doesn't matter PS3 or PC - and that's enough. No need to download them.
Again, read the first post of this thread.
Once a game is in your download history, it is free to play and re-download for as a long as you're a Plus-member.
Also, if you stop subscribing, but return later, your history will be the same as when you left.

It took my US debit card when I did it, but some other people couldn't get it to work so ymmv.
you mean the 28th (the last day of the month). Also the facebook codes didn't have an expiration date (I checked, and that's good as it took a week-two weeks to get mine) so if you have a code that expires in March from the last hand out and a facebook code you could potentially have the free service until the end of April.

Well then I'd advise everyone to get a facebook code as that promotion is still happening and takes about a week to get the code so it would be stupid to say "Oh, our codes stopped working at the end of feb". I checked the email I got from facebook and the whole message didn't say anything about an expiration date.

They don't follow the calendar month in either NA or EU. Things are updated on their respective update days (NA = Tuesday, EU = Wednesday). What region are you planning to buy PS+ for?

In NA we don't know until the week before something is taken down.
Check the PS blog post for the store update to find out what's expiring the next week.

You can start the download and then cancel it. It will be in your Download List afterwards. I'm guessing they got a lot of complaints about having to add to cart to download and so on, so they added this instant-download button when you 'buy' it.
Yes, you no longer add it to cart. It automatically starts the download.
Either cancel it right away, or get it from the SEN store.
