Doesn't bother me. Tons of people complained last gen that there were too many casuals so if they hold off this gen we should get more AAA games right? Right?!?

Love all the PS4 features (if their as feasible as they claim) but the lack of a more networked community approach worried me a bit but am sure it'll be there. They just didn't want 'SONY'S MIIVERSE' to be the talking point when they've actually done some really innovative stuff.
So am hopeful.

Exactly even tho the WiiU sold more units then 360/PS3 in its first 2 months, supply constraint or not it was considered doomed system right away.
Even if PS4/720 struggle out the gate nobody will call them doomed, not unless they struggle thru the full year.

You're arguing against a straw man. Most "core gamers" seem to want a solid gaming system, not pointless innovation that doesn't improve anyone's experience.
"Innovation" doesn't equal "worthwhile", or "meaningful".
The 3DS is at about 30 Million units, sales are continually declining in most territories. The 3DS is doing just okay.
The DS didn't achieve great success until the DS light came about, that's why the comparison isn't all that adequate.

The hardware is great, the value is good (though the games are way too expensive so I guess that's one reason to fail).
I haven't bought one yet either tbh... I'm waiting for the memory cards to drop to an acceptable price.
The few times I've held one and played on one it really impressed me.
3ds after price cut deserves to sell okay, before the price cut it really deserved to bomb.
It's still too expensive imo since it's basically the ds2, a very low end system in every way should be cheap.

I'm pretty confident at least the Durango will explode out of the gate. Microsoft would not let it struggle, and they have the wherewithal to make sure it doesn't. Not worried.
The 3PPs can't allow them to struggle either. If any of the machines bomb and costs stay as they are, they're all done. Unlike with PS Morte and PiiU, they have made massive investments into those platforms.

It has been evident for 3 years that hat worked for the Wii from 2007 - 2009 (and into 2010) had already waned. And Nintendo's decision was just to do more of what wasn't working.
Come on now. Without games first and foremost you will not succeed. Vita doesn't have the support.

As to the question, they all deserved to bomb for what they put out. Nintendo for forgetting they released the Wii U, overpricing the 3DS, and Sony just generally acting like they own the handheld market with those memory card prices.

Sales are declining over their previous months and years, when it's at the point in its life where it should at least be stable if not growing. That's why it's struggling. It's doing great in Japan but declining everywhere else.

How many times will you say the same damn thing? You say that in every 3DS sales thread. The 3DS is under preforming to meet Nintendo´s expectations in every single quarter since its inception both in hardware and software. Companies and investors have expectations and if sales don´t meet their expectations it means the 3DS is failing and their stock price will suffer. Not only that since the 3DS is not selling to Nintendo´s expectations, Nintendo will have less money to make games since software and hardware sales are not selling as much as they like.

Windows 8 is a tough nut to crack (I think it just sucks as a product), but I feel like in a closed ecosystem where Microsoft has the support of everyone that matters, they shouldn't really be facing the same issues they are with their phones.

At worse, you can say it's doing "okay" level in west. People should learn it exist something between "huge success" and "total bombing".

But reaching less doesn't mean you failed. And that's the problem with this industry, if you miss your forecast, you're considered as dead, even if you're pulling high numbers.

I can't say why you got banned, but I personally thought PS Morte was a bit more high brow. The alternative, PS Shita, is too far down the toilet humor route for me (vs. PU, which my grandpa used to say all the time!).

I actually agree with this. I'm not worried about the Xbox 3 at all. I don't think any of the platforms will do as well as the prior generation but I think Sony is in the most trouble. XBox 3 is going to explode the most and Microsoft has the strength of balance sheet to withstand a contracting market. Nintendo does as well. Sony....not so much.

3DS being the DS2 is a great thing imo.
The Wii U is $300 at cheapest, I don't understand how the games are too expansive, it's the same as PS3/360 games and probably PS4/720 games...But the Wii U does feed 1080p tv's, and it's a good thing the slow OS is getting fixed.
I know it's sounding like I'm just trying to defend Nintendo anyway possible but in my opinion people are being too harsh on Wii U.

You replied to my post, I never claimed the Wii U not to be innovative - but I'm also saying that there isn't any inherent value in innovation that doesn't generate any meaningful return for the gamer.
Most people are interested in great experiences, not gizmo's even the manufacturer doesn't know how to utilize (New Super Mario Bros. U and its lack of second screen interaction).
Considering that more of my random friends know that the Wii U exists rather than the Wii U, lol, I don't think it'll do as badly as the PS4 will out of the gate.
What you said has no meaning. All we know is that the 3DS isn't doing as well as Nintendo expected and the Wii U is a barely breathing body on a hospital gurney struggling to stay alive.

Outside of a live Vita-unveiling conference comment thread someone linked in another 3DS thread were people excitedly reacted to the stream, I don't think there was any kind of wide-spread confidence in the Vita "wiping the floor with the 3DS".
I'm not sure that the games will be there upfront. I expect them to struggle initially but improve slowly as the library builds and the price drops much like the current generation.
I know, it's useless anecdotal evidence, but its just one reason why I think Sony and Microsoft will probably end up better than the Wii U did, because they know how to generate hype. Nintendo didn't even know how to convince people that what they were selling was a new standalone product. Lol.

That's a bit...excessive. It's around the same range the PS3 and 360 were at this same point after launch. The games just haven't gotten here yet. Plus, Pokemon and Animal Crossing are coming here this year. That will skyrocket the system.
