I think those are two different feelings. The feeling you're describing is more like hopeful but pained anticipation. You know there's more to come, you feel like it's going to be great, but you have to wait for it for an indefinite period.
Where finishing a series and knowing it's done forever... that's almost like an old friend passing on. You can always look back fondly on your memories together, but you'll never again have new experiences with that friend.

In the UK, does an employer have an obligation to honour a few days you can't work, if you have wrote it down on the application form. The form had an area asking if there were any dates which could not be worked.

so, i spray painted an ikea bookcase i picked up, it's all red now & i let it dry for over a day. whenever i touch it, i get some paint on my hand (it can also be chipped without a whole hell of a lot've effort). what do i need to stop this, a clear coat or bonding of some kind maybe?

I suppose it means different things to different people but in my eyes, Roy was showing Deckard what it felt like to be scared, to feel hunted, and alone like himself and Pris and the other replicants that traveled to Earth. But he also wanted to show Deckard that replicants have compassion as well so he saves Deckard's life. So in other words, he wanted to show Deckard that replicants are basically human as they have the same gambit of emotions. After that, I believe Gaff's little speel and the origami figure suggested that he knew Deckard is a replicant and he was gonna let him and Rachel go and do their own thing.
NOTE: If you want the real (and quite different) story read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Although I'll warn you, Blade Runner is one of the few movies that's better than the book.

I realize this might not be a popular opinion but I could not disagree more with the bolded. I guess it depends on which you digested first. I read the book first and thought it was leagues better than the film, though apparently I watched the 'wrong version' of Blade Runner and that could have ruined my first experience with the movie. Still, the soundtrack of the film was a masterstroke of genius and I will be forever grateful for the introduction it gave me to Memories of Green by Vangelis.
What's the right version? The director's cut?
I think it's the Final Cut.

Hey guys, need some help here.
My girlfriend is trying to decide which major to go for in college. Her choice will greatly affect her college options and ultimately her financial standpoint. As a career, she would like to be a CSI and eventually become a part of the FBI, but she isn't sure whether or not she should major in forensics or chemistry. She was told at some point that majoring in chemistry would be the better option if she'd want to be a CSI, but she's still not sure. Also, if she chooses forensics as her major, she'll end up having to go to a college that will put her greatly in loan-debt, as opposed to choosing chemistry and going to a much more affordable college.
Any advice?

I'm trying to find some details of a serious crime which happened in the mid 90's. I believe I witnessed something that day but was scared to say something at the time due to the nature of it. The internet throws nothing up outside of sentencing and appeal clippings from years ago.
For personal reasons I do not trust the police with this (admittedly flaky) information, nor do I want to risk my family getting involved in any way.

When "CC"ing someone in on a formal letter, I am aware that I need to add the cc label at the bottom of the original (under my signature and title), but what do I write on the copy for whom the letter is not directly addressed?

You don't write anything on the copy of the letter you send to the GM, Chopper. The "c.c." comes from when we used to hand write or type letters and copies were made using carbon paper, hence carbon copy. Instead, you write a separate letter to the GM saying something short and sweet like the following:
"Please find enclosed a copy of my correspondence with *blah blah blah* for your attention.
Probably not the ideal wording but my brain is not fully woken up yet!

If you had logging on you could get the XML file from the old msn folder somewhere in my documents . You might be able to open it up in a browser or XML viewer.

Oh, OK.
You meet someone with whom you are compatible with romantically and after a few dates, they invite you over to their house.
Prior to this, a friend of yours tells you that to truly know what a person is like, you have to look inside their fridge. Whether it's orderly, messy, all-natural items, Etc. determines various aspects of their character. Is there anyway to limit the amount of bandwidth or at least lower the priority a download takes on a per application basis? I want to download my Steam games but doing so usually results in a few hours of the internet basically being cut off. I can't even go to google without getting connection errors. Youtube sometimes does the same thing when I try to watch something in HD, it completely floods the bandwidth but it's not consistent.

Because you'll lose as often as you win? If you think you've found some way to beat the house by betting on red & doubling etc when you win, you're wrong. It's under 50% because of 0 & 00 on the wheel. You cannot overcome the odds in roulette.

Okay final question, does every roulette table have a max bet or are you free to place any amount you want?
Depends on the casino, how much you play/have played, etc. Most (read as almost all) will have some type of table limit and if you'd like to go above that limit, the person taking bets will call over the pit boss and you can talk with them. Be aware that if the pit boss decides to take your bet that you will have a surplus of dealers and pit bosses watching you like a hawk and that every eye in the sky will be on you as well.
Second best, blackjack has the lowest advantage going towards the house.

FYI roulette has the best odds in the entire casino with the odd/even black/red bets. So you're best off spending your time there instead of slot machines, etc.

There should always be a max bet. Otherwise you can cheat the system and make sure you win every time.

With no max bet you can make sure you always come out on top with the following system:
1. Bet $1 on red or black. If you win, stop playing. Congratulations! You have won $1. Make sure you never gamble again. If you lose, goto step 2.
2. Bet $2. If you win you will have a net profit of $1. Congratulations!
3. You lost again? Bet $4. If you win you will again have a net profit of $1.
Repeat until you win once. If you're a rich man you can replace $1 with any other number.
That's true for any game where a win doubles your money. The casino doesn't care about that. They make their money through the fact that people will play with their emotion at some point or another. They don't mind a winner or logical thinker because they know for every 1 of those, there are 100 losers.
Can't answer that question, I always end up being left alone in those meet-ups.

What if an investment firm decides to play with $1,000,000 bets? With no max bet they will always at least win the same amount back. If you have a max bet, you prevent the player to take advantage of the bank.
I guess I can see the point but if you have a million to burn (and then potentially 2 mil, 4 mil, 8 mil, etc. to burn as well). You aren't really going to the casino "cheat" the system. Also, I've, personally, had my share of bad runs and lost 6 or 7 hands in a row (blackjack, which would hold the same concept), and you would reach a point where you just simply couldn't double your bet anymore to win back what you started with. The casino runs a fool-proof system with or without bet limits, limits are just there as an arbitrary barrier to prevent people from affecting the bank statement too much on a good run.
