Hi,going to subscribe PSN plus soon
got a question
which is better, buy the PSN plus Code physical or buy it off the PSN store?
or is it just the same?

whichever gives you the best deal - I get PSN credit cheapish so I usually buy some of that and wait for a deal for a year (like 3 mths free or £30 for a year) so end up paying around £15-20 per year.

Well in the NA PS Store, the month of March is running a special where if you buy $50 worth of stuff off from there, you'll get $10 back in PSN credit.

Buying a PS Plus subscription for $49.99 from there automatically nets you $10.

Hm, I learned something new about PS+ today. My PS3 turns on in the middle of the night on its own. Noticed it a few days ago, and caught it in the act last night. I was wondering what that sound was. It's the auto-update checking for new updates. If you turn on the TV, it says so.

A little clumsy way to do that, but it works okay.

It's not just for updates. It also syncs your trophies and cloud-enabled saves.

I never played a Lumines game, I am thinking about buying it. What can I expect from it?

It's the best game on the Vita by far IMO. Absolutely stunning puzzle game.

As for the soundtrack, I went into it not knowing the songs included but the magic of Lumines is that everything "works." Whether or not you like the song/genre subsides as it becomes part of the overall immersive experience driving you forward.

But I'll admit I marked the fuck out when Out of the Blue and Gouryella came on. Absolutely classic tracks.

Wut. How did you not know this. Pretty much the main point of Plus on the os level.

So I didn't know that I had to give my credit card number in order to gain access to PlayStation Plus with my voucher code for 30 days of free PlayStation Plus. Since I don't want to use my credit card, I decided to make someone else happy with it.

So these are the rules:
  1. This voucher code is (maybe) only for The Netherlands or (more likely) for Europe.
  2. It has to be used before March 31st.
  3. You cannot use it if you have already taken part into a PlayStation Plus promotion. This includes the promotion after the PSN outage.
  4. You cannot use this if you are already a PlayStation Plus member.
  5. Like I said, you need to give Sony your credit card number.
  6. Your PlayStation Plus subscription will be automatically extended, unless you disable that option through XMB.

If you have any interest in the code, please send me a Private Message.

So after many a month debating with myself about wether to go for PSN Plus, I finally took the plunge last week (Xbox Gold left a sour taste in my mouth which put me of any other subscription).

Only thing i'm gutted with, I didn't subscribe sooner. Cannot believe the amount of stuff available to download, it took me by surprise. So much so that I invested in a new 500Gb HDD and have been abusing the hell out of my ISP.

What a service... Fan-fucking-tastic!!!

Aw damn, I tought the Vita Plus games would be up today. Silly me :/
Their Vita schedule seems to be 1 lower priced game in the middle of the month and 1 retail game near the end of the month. Foosball will probably get replaced with Tekken 6 next week and then PvZ with Disgae 3 on the 26th.

This may be a dumb question, however, if I subscribe to PS+ and get say, Gravity Rush for free. If somewhere down the line, I decide I no longer want PS+, will I still be able to purchase Gravity Rush at that point? I could've sworn I read somewhere that there's an issue with trying to purchase a game that was once given to you for free with PS+...

Thanks!

You can buy it after you subscription runs out but not before.

It's not just for updates. It also syncs your trophies and cloud-enabled saves.

It doesn't just update the OS, sync trophies, and upload cloud saves, it also downloads and installs game patches, AND it finishes downloading and installing any files that were partially downloaded beforehand. It's a nice feature.

Guys, how awesome will it be when the PS4 is out (and we get free games with Plus) and the games are sitting there ready to go when we get home from work because the system knows to just do it as soon as it's available?

... "So awesome" is the answer.

What free games are you expecting with PS+ on the PS4 when there isn't any backwards compatibility?

As someone who cherishes retail and loathes digital copies, I came to a conclusion today.

Playstation Plus is Sony's attempt to Trojan Horse the idea of digital games being "ok" into my brain. It's working. Those jerks.

I never thought I'd download console games. PS+ convinced me. I've bought quite a few now. Its working

Is the first Joe Danger better? I just tried Joe Danger 2 but found it pretty boring and kind of gimmicky. I was expecting something like Trials HD but kept getting new completely random shit in every level that distracted from that formula. Then again I didn't play the first game so I don't know if I'm going off the wrong impression.

Check your download list.

Thanks. I'm still irritated that on the list of plus games it doesn't say "Purchased," but you were correct, it's right there in my download list.

I hadn't really put any thought into this, but I think you're correct. In fact, expanding on el retorno...

I'm right there with you. In 360land, I've even go so far as to REPLACE some discs with digital copies.

Does Joe Danger 2 have ridiculous load times or is it just me?

This game sucks BIG TIME. The loads take as long as the levels. Also, you don't ride a motorcycle anymore? You ride mine carts and skis? Good thing I didn't pay for this. At the same time, someone in Europe is playing Sleeping Dogs or Mass Effect 3 while I'm choosing not to play JD2.

Isn't Joe Danger 2 part of EU plus too this month?

I'm going to replace my ps3 hard drive because I need more storage. To save game saves to the cloud via plus what do I have to do? Just put the disk in and click yes when it asks about saving my data? Or do I also have to load the save file and save it again?

I'm pretty sure you can copy to the cloud from the save data menu, without needing the disc. When you first start a game and it asks if you want to save to the cloud, all that does is mark that game for automatic backup (this functionality for the Vita please!) - you still need to wait for the next scheduled backup time (or do it manually) for the save itself to actually be backed up.

Thinking about getting Plus for my PS3. Anybody got a subscription for the german store and can tell me if most of the games are avaiable for the germans in general?

Germany has only missed out on Mortal Kombat and that was replaced with Gotham City Impostors. Sales on the other hand is a different story.

Something just hit me... We didn't got the online pass with the free Mass Effect 3 download.

Does that mean we need to buy it if we want to play multiplayer? Because IIRC it's borderline impossible to get enough hard assets for the "good" ending without playing at least a couple of online games (if you don't, you stay stuck at 50%)...

Online pass? I played multiplayer for hours and never needed any online pass. I built up my readiness to 100% and got the Defender trophy without issue.
