One month from today: BioShock Infinite

I have some Steam credit to use, so that works.

Replaying BioShock right now, its been a long time.

Jesus, the atmosphere is second to none.

Its going to be a 'Shock' couple of months for me.

Infinite in a couple weeks, then replay SS2 and BioShock 1.
And need to play Call of Pripyat as well, but that's OT.

God. Dammit. So, I just typed the coordinates in Booker's case into Google Maps (40.7142N, 74.0064W)

I bet it was you who sent the anonymous tip to Destructoid ;)

Can't wait for Infinite, dat hype.

Still doubting to go for PS3 (trophies! ;) ) or the PC version. I'll probably double dip anyway but for my first experience I'm doubting between the two. I hope at least the framerate in the PS3 version is stable enough and also I hope the PC version is a better piece of work than Bioshock 1 was.

Are you sure about that? where was that confirmed?

Well its 1912. What sort of technology would there be to hack? I mean, Ive seen robot horses and stuff in the trailers, but Im just basing this off of the achievement list.

Theres a cheev
for picking a certain amount of locks. there wasnt anything listed for hacking and there was always cheevs linked to hacking in the previous two games

The PC version is looking pretty damn solid.

No way it will be as bad as BioShock 1 was. Go back a page and there is a video on the PC version enhancements. I believe there was also an interview on IGN, of all places, on the PC version.

I've said this a few times before, but 2K makes over 20% of their annual revenue from the PC market now. We have systematically encouraged this type of treatment.

Getting a little OT here, but I expect this kind of treatment going forward. With the growth in the PC market the past few years and the upcoming consoles going x86/x64.

Awesome PC Ports and prices have definitely switched my buying habits over the last year or so. Didn't even consider getting Infinite on consoles after the pc details were released.

So I've got a PC with:

E8400 @ 3.0 Ghz
8800GT
4G RAM

And a laptop with:

i5 @ 2.4 Ghz
GT640m
8G RAM

Which should I use for Bioshock Infinite? (They will both be outputed to the same 1650x1050 monitor)

Getting it to run is only problem one, the mouse aim in Bio 1 is poop.

I thought a controller plugged into a PC was ideal for Bio1. Left trigger guns, Right trigger plasmids (as far as I remember). Was much more intuitive than left click / right click for me. Even as someone who uses a mouse for most FPS's.

I never tried that. There's just a bunch of stuff with the PC version, like it has this horrible thing of enemies dying like clockwork men, I don't know if it's just key-framed at 30, and not interpolated for 60 on PC like Gearbox's Halo port or whatever, but it looks bad. I still think the 360 version is the one to play of Bio 1. Even more so now it has the previously PS3 exclusive DLC, that stuff was really good, and largely overlooked.

Been replaying bioshock 2. Story, atmosphere and characters are ok.
But gameplay is awesome. Every gun feels powerful and it's fun to use.
Same for every type of ammo and plasmid. They even made hacking and research
somewhat fun. Or at least not boring.

I really really hope they managed to do the same for infinite.

I recently jumped back in after stopping in 2010. I'm probably 75% through. I like the mechanics and gun play (though the controls are strange). I'm not sure what I'm doing and why, I guess I needed to refresh my memory for the story somehow.

Don't forget that Bio1 came out on some Franken-Engine (I remember people were calling it Unreal Engine 2.5). Surely BI will benefit from using the (now) established UE3. Even DmC runs great on PC; so I'd be surprised if BI suffered from the same issues as Bio1.

Oh yeah, I don't doubt the PC version of Infinite will be the one to play for anyone with a half decent PC. Bio 1 is an unfortunate rarity, and it was still when the console ports were often spotty. Infinite should be glorious.

I don't know how to explain but can anyone tell me if we can see the left hand of booker ? Like in Bioshock 1 where you could switch between plasmids and weapons. Seems to me like they put that feature out. You can shoot a vigor and thats it.

Idk about you guys but i think thats lame. I want to see the effects of the vigors.
