I cannot find Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward demo on PAL PSN.
Not available anymore?

I can't confirm on Vita but it is on the webstore. Search for Last Reward.

If you haven't already, buy Persona 4! Get Gravity Rush! Sonic Transformed! NFS Most Wanted! Litle Big Planet!

I know everyone has been saying this for months; but Virtua Tennis 4 is really excellent for Vita. I had it for Ps3 already, but never really touched it. Now I've almost played through the world tout in just a week! Bus rides + Vita is my gaming time nowadays.

Thanks to whoever on gaf that posted about the zavvi sale for VT4.

You're welcome. Glad you're enjoying it, it really is a great game and a perfect fit for the Vita. I'm surprised that it's not been on PS+ yet though really.

After seeing Dungeon Hunter on sale I'm wondering what you guys think the best ARPG on Vita is?

I've heard the PSP Untold Legends games are good, but I'm aiming to get Dungeon Hunter: Alliance tomorrow unless someone knows of a much better ARPG?

The price is low, there is multiplayer that I assume will be semi populated with the sale happening and it seems like a good game to pick up and play since you can save anywhere and I enjoy the genre.

PSPGo was the best PSP.

COME AT ME BROS

Yep. I could never play the old PSP for more than 2 hours, but with the PSP Go I played sessions from full battery to none quite a few times. They fixed the position of the analogue stick and made the buttons far more comfortable to use.

It was a much easier machine to carry around in your pocket too, and for that I still kind of miss it.

I got it in a sale and kinda regret it. Its just really badly made. Soulless is pretty accurate for it. Also it has a horrible hit detection. The first hit almost always doesn't register because it hasn't auto locked.

Pretty crap to be honest. I might go back to it if I get really bored but im not convinced. If that hit detection was fixed I might be more tempted.

so it seems that soul sacrifice sold a little north of 100k in japan in it's first week (actually counting the dual pack as two copies properly soul sac sold 136.496 copies according to media crate)
the vita sold a little north of 60k this last week
and it may have actually outsold the 3ds last week o.O;

If you're really into the genre (as I am) then it's not a terrible game. It's not really great either. You might want to check out the demo of Silent Hill: Book of Memories. It's gets ragged on because it's bad as a Silent Hill game, which it is but, it's not bad as an ARPG honestly.

After having been madly in love with the Air Traffic Controller (I Want To Be An...) series on PC for years and years (and strangely all manner of airline/airport/ATC games for that matter), I must thank Takao for putting Hero Haneda/Hero Tokyo PSP onto my TRACON a week ago. I had no idea it had gotten a Western release and since I don't own a PSP anymore, I had no way of picking up the 3 JPN titles. Settled for this albeit lighter ATC game and it's my grainy, crunchy, caveat-laden portable crack.

Looks pretty horrid on Vita, but it did look pretty horrid on PSP...but if you're willing to put yourself through average visuals and aptly-fuzzy ATC-Flight Crew transmissions, there's a niche strategy-puzzler here. A far more complex Diner Dash isn't a total comparative stretch for the series, but when you start coupling simulated control band congestion - Approach/Delivery/Ground/Tower/Departure - and a need to have confirmation made by flight crews, there's quite an enjoyably hectic and obviously stressful experience to be had.

I'm yet to try expert mode on Hero Haneda, but if it's anything like ATC on PC, plotting SID vectors on the ground before flight clearance will make this some heart attack gear.

Is it worth twenty bucks? To the average punter, an emphatic no. But if you've a love of airports and civil aviation and are looking for a unique puzzle-strategy-management-??? game, you *might* find something interesting here.

Never even heard of that Silent Hill game. Seems interesting, but over double the price. Decisions decisions.

There are demos for both in the PS Store. Neither games are that great judging by the demos, but Silent Hill seems much better than Dungeon Hunter IMO.

International Snooker just popped up on the EU webstore. Looks like it's on both PS3 and Vita, same price but not cross-buy. Hmmm.

EDIT: Also, Vita (just about) outsold 3DS this week in Japan! Soul Sacrifice sold 92k, with the double pack also selling 22k. Yay!

While I am intrigued by your writeup, which will make me pick up the game if it ever goes on sale.. go play the game I sent you in PM! :p

I haven't played a harvest moon or harvest moon esque game in Ages and without any inkling one is coming to vita :( any suggestion on which psp game is the best of the genre?

Go with the PsOne classic of HM: Back to Nature. It's always been my favorite Harvest Moon game, and playing it on on the vita makes it even better.

Thank you very much! I'm 100% sure they work on the Vita. In your opinion, this is worth it, right? Never played much of these as a kid because I was too scared lol. Loved 4 and revelations.

They're good games, but their controls are completely janky by today's standards and they play quite differently to 4 and Revelations.

It's an okay price for all three, but it's not amazing.

Hype deflated :/ Thinking of getting Sound Shapes, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, Super Star Dust or the Resi trifecta.

I was going to say the same. Only things I´ve ever downloaded on 3G are Full Game Unlocks when I´ve been playing demos out´n´about/at work.

Can someone answer me, how can people tell when games are using the Vitas native resolution? I play games, they look good, but not once has the resolution ever popped into my mind, yet I read of people complaining games aren´t in their native res.

Probably old but 2 more PSP minis are shaking off their old roots:

Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims
The Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character

Both HD and with trophies. Touch controls for Cloud God, leaderboards for Octopus.

They're both great little titles, I'm glad some of those minis are seeing proper releases. I hope they (and Velocity) do some good numbers.

PSP vs PSPgo is like comparing pee to poop.

it hurt my hands more than the original PSP,the circle pad or whatever it's called is still a pain to use.

I gave my PSPGO to my nephew after purchasing the Vita. It was a nice machine. I'm all for DD, so it was perfect. Other than no Crisis Core and Birth By Sleep... No regrets.

not even close.

It really depends on your outlook. If you've never played the original REs, ask yourself : "am I willing to put up with mechanics and graphics that have aged significantly for the sake of a more wholesale original experience?". Personally I still get a kick out of playing old games I've not played before because I think they offer an interesting window into how games have changed and I enjoy experiencing something in the manner it was originally intended. If you feel a similar way then I think £12 for the 3 of them is a fair price.

Sound Shapes is an okay platformer with one or two neat ideas and not much else. If it's particularly cheap, then sure, it's worth playing through at least once. Don't know much about the other two, although SSD is pretty much universally liked around these parts, I think.

Playing the original Metal Gear on Vita, and its great! Those pixels look so pwetty now :P

PSM for tonight.

Forevolution ($5.49) is a strategy game where you control a forest that fights off machines
DOOXDOO ($2.79) is a puzzle game where you slide tiles to match the center color
The Sexy Seashore ($1.49) is a horizontal shmup about sexy ladies and cats

Hey Kassatsu, how come when you interviewed with them for ps blog, you didn't tell them that their cover of PSM was a failure and the lack of updates since launch on here, the lack of coverage on here, and the fact that if you scroll over "games" you don't see psm option here is a complete joke?

They promised trophies and psn integration a long time ago, where is it? Where are the non game apps? Is that thing still in beta? Real question

Thanks for the reply. I too was thinking the same. The mechanics will be aged, but it seems like a good opportunity to play some games that were revered as some of the best in the genre for its time, actually creators of the genre. And it seems it would be cool to play on the vita every now and again. The price is decent too since they were normally £7.99 each I think.

Sound Shapes looked like a quirky fun game, and for 9.99 I thought it might be a good purchase. SSD seems like a bit too much price wise, but then again I spent £8.99 on Nano Assault on the Wii U and I enjoyed it. This looks similar.

I guess I'l give it more thought. there is no rush for the time being. Thanks!

I was talking about the one without the Solid part, but yeah. MGS still looks great, in retrospect, especially on Vita. :)
