One month from today: BioShock Infinite

It's pretty weird that we got no videos showing exploration. Wasn't like that when Bio1 or 2's release was near.

Hope they didn't turn it down for the sake of action ...

Not sure if you'd consider it exploration, but that Gamespot plays Bioshock Infinite video had a good amount of gameplay that wasn't in combat. Be warned though, it's pretty spoilery.

EDIT: Beaten, heh.

Why people have no faith in the studio that brought as the "highest-rated first-person shooter of all time" is beyond me.
Calling Bio 1 simply an FPS is disrespectful to game's depthness and story. Even though Take Two markets it that way. And when it comes to ratings... Well the less is better... Seriously is there anybody who gives a fuck about Game Informer, Gamepro, Ign or such shitty sites and magaziness reviews?

IS IT REALLY THAT TIME AGAIN MR. DE WITT?

Remeber that.

Booker, wake up and smell the ashes.

Ive played through the HL2 saga many, many times. I just havent in awhile =D

In the interview with Sessler back in December, Levine mentioned the AI and companion function of Alyx in relation to Liz so that's what sparked it again for me. Love Alyx. So good.

Actually, yes. Quite a lot of people do.

I have 40 bucks in credit for Gamestop and am going to get this game day 1. I never pay full price for games anymore so, if you guys didn't know, I'm plenty hyped. I also beat SS2 the other day so 1999 mode will be ripped to shreds, or it might not be... we'll see.

Natural selection would select against most of today's humans too so this doesn't mean much.

Places like those can be really entertaining to visit for reviews sometimes though. Millers' IGN DS2 review for example, is one of the funniest review pieces I have ever come across.

I won't be able to play this game until a couple of days after release at the earliest. I get sad reading through this thread. :(

Aw man, and like 90% of us will have finished it by then too.

Ill be sticking around for that Plat though.

I'll really have to avoid the OT while I'm playing the game. Maybe take a peak in every now and then to read people arguing with Derrick for pages on end. That might prove enough entertainment in the interim.

I really hope that shit doesnt happen, but who knows.

I just hope I can pre-load the game a few days in advance. My internet connection is slow as fuck, and I don't want to be still installing the game on the 26th.

We'll definitely get some juniors who don't know how to use spoiler tags correctly. Actually, there are plenty of members who can't use them either.

Maybe one thing that the Infinite DLC will take from the goodness of Bio 2s DLC will be the player being in the role of someone else during Columbias fall. Like maybe you'll get a chance to play from the Vox Populi perspective.

Or hell, play as the Songbird for a minigame and fly around snatching up bad children and throwing them off the edges, just like in the nursery rhyme.

If Utah is having any midnight releases then I'm picking my copy up. Then I'll grab a Grand Slam from Denny's cause I'll probably be hungry as hell.

I swear if this turns out to be Irrational's Half Life 2...

I'm playing Half Life 2 right now so that's the only reason I say that.

It's funny, because I'm always playing Half-Life 2. For serious. That's why I always have Half-Life 2 screenshots in the screenshots thread. Thats one of the reasons I'm pumped for infinite. It feels like it could be their HL2. Probably won't, but that's mostly due to lack of hype.

After Episode Two, I told myself I wouldn't play through the series again until Episode Three (or what's assuredly now Half-Life 3) arrived, and to this day I've stayed true to my word*.

* Well, there was a close call last year where I loaded up the original Half-Life, but I quit immediately after the opening tram ride.

I always start my HL2 romps right from the start. The first few hours are unparalleled perfect immersive gaming to me. All that's missing are some audio diaries. lol.

Im kidding.

Here's some shots of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, which inspired the game's general art direction.

I am great excite for this, fellas. Feels good to be genuinely excited about a game release.

If you would like to learn more about the World Columbian Exchange of 1893, get the fuck out of this thread and go read The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson.

I'm gonna check out that Mind In Revolt novella. Anyone else read it? Supposed to be pretty good.

I zipped through it in just a mote of time a couple weeks ago.

It's worth reading. The book follows the perspective of a
physician
that
is studying Daisy Fitzroy's mind while she's being held captive. It's supposed to be literally his medical journal entries, including transcripts of interviews between the doctor and Fitzroy.

The ebook is consistent with the content release thus far and paints a picture of Columbia while also leaving the more enigmatic questions unanswered for the game. I'd like to see if some of the threads established in the novella end up expanded upon in the game.

In short, read it. It's one of the few tie-in products I've read that actually seems purposeful and germane to the narrative and setting.

We'll definitely get some juniors who don't know how to use spoiler tags correctly. Actually, there are plenty of members who can't use them either.

We're going to ensure that the CORRECT method for spoiler tags will be on display at the top of the first page of the OT, although I'm sure some people will miss them.

Perhaps we should spin the OT off into a spoiler thread once the game ships?

Have I told you guys that Nikola Tesla was in that expo? Pretty cool, huh?

If I have been in a blackout, should I read after or before I play the game?
