Are any impressions implying this lives up to Bioshock 1?

FartofWar unbias impression was that it's the second coming of Half-Life 2. I trust that.

sarcasm? pretty sure he worked on the game.
Not saying it won't be though...I think the game looks amazing. So very excited for it.

I heard Ken Levine said this is the best Bioshock since Bioshock
Any word on when the embargo is up?
why so damn bad, Bioshock Infinite trailers and ads
not-spoilerish, in case you're wondering
Just about to post this. Creepy shit.I'm playing through Bioshock again and I had forgotten how creepy and unsettling it is.
Is this going to be like that? I haven't been paying very close attention but it doesn't really give off that vibe from the footage I've seen.
So tempted to up my preorder to the $80 Collectors Edition. The art book and the print look great.
Yeah I was going to do that but it wouldn't come on release day on Amazon.

My Mass Effect 3 CE said it wouldn't come on release day but I got it anyway.
Can't take such a chance.![]()
I'll just do the same thing I did for that. Complain since I'm a Prime member and get them to change to to one day shipping for free.

The best thing I've re-experiences so far is the dentist roomWHAT THE FUCK MAN!!!where fog comes in and you turn around and the splicer is just standing right behind you.
I hope they focus on the how creepy religion is angle in B:I. There's a goldmine of material there.
Since i saw the reveal of Infinite I have been really down on the tone and look of Columbia, it feels so out of kilter with what I consider a Bioshock game to be, I honestly got the feeling that this was a different game with the Bioshock tag slapped on to sell copies, Bioshock was rapture to me. From every video ive seen I have become less convinced, except for one thing, the early video where for a brief second, while reviving the horse suddenly the whole scene changes and Booker is in the 1950's mainstreet. That part is the sole single reason im keeping my pre-order.
Anyone else got a similar vibe?
Yeah the dentist room lol. I think my heart jumped out of my chest when that happened.
Wow that was fast thanks garfep. What you guys going to show this week for BioShock.![]()
You'll have a much better idea of what's coming as of tomorrow at noon.
As for content, Tues-Thur we'll have video interviews, commentaries from Ken over the first parts in Columbia, etc.
Revisit the first gameplay trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0fDEA0BFSM
The sound design, the subversive themes, the art work. I think it's all very Bioshock. Or at least, it feels that way to me.
The game seems to have brightened up considerably since then though, so who knows...

I don't see what the problem is.
1950s street? Return of the Jedi came out in the 80's.Need a few seconds to vent here so feel free to ignore this post, its just something I have to make, I loved beyond words Bioshock 1, it wasnt the best shooter ive ever played, not the best psionic mix ive played, not even the greatest mission structure. What i loved about Bioshock was rapture and how utterly enthralling the place was, I had literally never played a game like it. The art style, the tone, the voice acting, the immersive story and wonderful set pieces put it up there with hl2 as my favourite experience gaming. For all its faults I also loved Bioshock 2, basically I consider rapture to be the single best set piece for a game and would welcome any and all chance to go back to it, the only reason I dont rank Bioshock as my favourite game of all time is because of the combat. Gonna have to defer to Charles Barkley on this one.I don't see what the problem is.
