Started playing it. Notes:

-I expected a lenghty mandatory installation but it just went straight to the main menu after logos.
- I checked game data without exiting the game to see it empty. It seems it has no mandatory install at all. Pretty surprised.
-It is possible to enable vertical synch in options.
-You can turn on or off enemy health bars, highlight searchable objects, important objects.
-You can enable or disable HUD markers
-Three control schemes, default, marksman,retro
-There is move controller options, i forgot that you could use Move.

-There is a ''Load Chapter'' option as well. Nice.

Starting normal difficulty. Here it goes.

Aw... you should play on 1999 mode. Is there a code anywhere in the manual?

These things are all big ticks for me. People are sure to be pleased with having those options available.

Interesting, I wonder if the 360 version will have that too besides the move of course.

seriously, I don't need a damn icon telling me the Handyman is coming, I SEE THE GIANT GUY ON MY SCREEN

I think I kiiiiinda want health bars, though? I'd like to know how much damage my Vigor/Plasmid/Magic is doing, is that combo more effective than that combo, etc

SPLENDID!!!!

Very nice. How does it look and run?

Good so far. Textures are fine unlike what that guy said in his review. It runs well as well. But haven't been in a combat situation yet. Also production values are SKY HIGH. Sound design is awesome too. I am not going to talk about art design since its an Irrational Games product. You know the answer. There is also this thiing, when you press up on D-pad it shows a way through your objective..

Sounds good to me. Thank you, sir.

He posted. :P
I was impatient and didn't finish reading because of my excitement. Hah. Luckily I'll be getting back into Portland on Wednesday night, so that's when I will be able to play. At that point, there should hopefully be a consensus on what console version is the best one to get.

HUD element options and the objective marker is a toggle? Fucking perfect. I always use objective markers in games like this to see where my eventual goal is so I can avoid going that way and explore. Glad the v-synch option is there too. I didn't really notice any tearing in Bioshock 2 and appreciated the higher framerate.

Hey, everyone, brief announcement!

The BioShock Infinite OT has been wrapped and should be up in the morning.

As you were.

Hey Valentine is the Bioshock 1 PS3 version a full complete copy

Does it come with the DLC Challenge Room Pack?

I seriously need to know, my Blood Trophy Sugar Intake needs to calmed

For a dummy, can someone explain what vsynch does? its a trade off for higher framerate?

It locks the framerate so that tearing doesn't occur. The game can't go above 30fps with it on but if you turn it off it'll fluctuate a lot but you'll get more frames most of the time. I hate tearing with a burning passion but since I barely noticed it in the other Bioshock games I'll give it a shot in this to see if the framerate is better. Too much tearing though and it goes back on.

PS3 version it is.

Would be awesome if Sony midnight-launches the game via PSN.

If you preorder on PSN there's a chance you'll be able to download it at midnight. Several recent release have done that for preorders. Still, it's kind of a crapshoot considering you may be at the mercy of Grace Chen time.

Thanks. if it wasn't noticeable in previous Bioshock's then I guess it'll stay that way.

Hmm. Worth a shot, as a digital version would be the cat's ass. But then again EB's doing a midnight launch anyway. Hmmm.
