IIRC, we didn't have direct infos from Nintendo about preorders at all. We had just news from Sinobi and, obviously, from Comgnet. Comgnet especially showed us through comparison how much New Leaf would have been bigger compared to past iterations of the brand.
Just like right now it's showing how Luigi's Mansion will probably have a 300k+ debut. DUN DUN DUUUUNNN!!!!

Indeed. That's why I think Tomodachi Collection will be bigger in the short term with respect to the previous entry (also thanks to the Golden Week), but then it will start to fail behind Animal Crossing, and Pokemon / Monster Hunter. Anyway, a million should be a lock.
Altho that first week would be amazing!76% sell through rate for Soul Sacrifice during launch week. Seems rather good.
Doubt that it'll start slow, at this point it is a know IP and not some underdog sleeper hit on an aging platform. Game will start strong and crows will be served. These social games really profit form 3DS network features and shouldn't be underestimated.

Interesting, and yet another licensed game from BN, seriously they're making a killing with them on 3DS.
Who developed the first 3DS Toriko game? Same goes for the Magi 3DS game? Natsume JP developed the PSP Toriko games and looked better than the first 3DS game.

Well, as I was saying yesterday, Fantasy Life and Magi have done well in the wake of AC, and the predecessor did ~3.7 million, so I'd be surprised if this didn't do at least good sales.
EDIT: Not that it means anything but pre-orders for the game opened yesterday, it's already 3rd on Amazon behind Luigi and One Piece.

Toriko 3DS sold more than both Toriko for PSP, that already sold well. I think it's too early for a new game, but probably they should exploit as much as they can the popularity of the manga.
Now it's first. It begins.
And Luigi's Mansion 2 has just a 4% discount. I.e. sold out before the release.

Senran Kagura was at 106k for Famitsu last week (actual sales). Probably it's over 110k in sales with datas for this week. Probably it sold around 30k digitally.

I am glad we get good figures on Vita too. Nintendo is way too lazy lately and need a few kick in the sides.

But it's a GREAT result for SK, they should move the series to Vita, that's where the tits audience is. I remember being surprised to see the original selling well on the 3DS, it's not the kind of game you expect on a Nintendo platform.

it still sold pretty damn well on 3ds and its vita sales were certainly given an artificial enlargement (pun intended)by accompanying the price cut so it shouldnt be moved wholesale to vita, but i'd expect the next one to be multiplat

Bandai Namco shipped a lot of Gourmet Monsters first week:
week 2: ltd 62,748 & sell-through 0~50% => shipment over 125k.
week 6: ltd 102,891 & sell-through 50~75% => shipment over 137k.
The price online right now is as low as 2000 yen (MRSP is 5800 yen).
I guess it'll be best selling one eventually...

I dont think it was overshipped accompanying the price drop. The first week sellthrough for the game (same week at the price drop) was very high.

It's a good number, but I expect the next game to be 3DS/Vita. It's not really fair that they gave the Vita the most/better fanservicey game without at least trying how it would do on the 3DS. Releasing the game the same time as the anime probably helped a great deal too, as well as being one of the main Vita games during the pricecut. So they'll at least try another entry on the 3DS.
Vita's probably the better platform, though, in my opinion.

3DS was doing better numbers than the Vita did the week of the price drop and seeing past performances of similar games I don't think that the price drop mattered that much.

but 3ds owners generally have more games to choose from (especially considering the leggy sales of nintendo's games) the week of sk vita's release 50k more people than normal bought a vita so they are bound t buy a game and so sk had a very well timed release to capitalise on that, i'm not saying it wouldnt have sold very well regardless just that its probably a noticable pecentage that picked it up for that reason

That the artificial enlargement was referring to that they shipped a lot of copies of the game because of the Vita pricedrop. The 3DS had also seen a pricedrop before both 3DS Senran Kagura games was released (not in the same week as the first Senran Kagura game was released though, but still), so it is kinda equal between the 3DS and Vita in that regards. I think it is more to do with that the people wanted the game itself. It is impossible to know for sure how much it would have sold without the Vita pricedrop though (same regarding the 3DS games), but i'm not sure that it had that much affect on the game sale.What did i say before my edit again? I dont remember hehe.

At the time of release of the first Senran Kagura game, there actually wasnt very much to choose from on the 3DS. It was released before all the heavy hitters (Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and Monster Hunter Tri G). According to Garaph.info, there were about 31 games to chose from on the 3DS when Senran Kagura was released (about 86 when Senran Kagura Burst was released). On the Vita there were about 47 games to choose from. (retail only games for both systems, although i'm not sure how many downloadable only games that excist in Japan).
I think that the Vita pricedrop might have helped a bit, but i think that it would have sold close to what it has already sold even without the pricedrop. 3DS also had the perk/advantage of being a 15k yen system when Senran Kagura was released, so i think both Vita and 3DS had an equal share of perks to boost sales for these games. But that is just my guess =)

I thought the first PSP game was lower, but still, given its legs, the 3DS version has still a chance to overcome it. The last LTD is 115,289 units, though.
