Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Just purchased and started downloading Carnage Heart EXA. ETA for 491 MB is 4 minutes.

It has the original voicework, which is awesome. Not so awesome is that the default volume for voices is set to zero and you can't turn it up until the option menu is unlocked, which happens roughly a few minutes in, depending on how fast you read. Not clear if you can set the voice volume to non-zero before starting the game.

And there's a full 32GB memory card finally. Time to learn how to juggle. Glad I have a physical copy of Disgaea 3 so I don't have to deal with that next week. Still need to figure out what to remove for HSG DLC and Nunz With Gunz: Electric Boogaloo. Blargh, that officially pushes me over the $100 mark for this month and to about ~30 short of the $150 mark. Need to figure out what else to get for the rest of the month after Nuns, HSG DLC, and Machinarium.

gamestop has a retail preorder up though, it might be a case of they got the digital version up first and a physical version later. or gamestop might just be selling a digital code for it soon :/

I hope it's not digital only, I was likely going to get it day 1 as a physical release, but I won't touch it if it's digital only until it gets at least half off :/

oh well I still need to finish up meruru anyways.

You mean the gamestop link from earlier?
That was for a download though.

Unless you mean the stores have a pre-order available for it?

I edited that like 3 minutes ago >.>;
Either way, I'm likely going to be skipping it. I like the series but I can't bring myself to support a company that is going to charge full retail price for a digital version that they can't even to bother to announce that they are releasing :/

In general this doesn't bode well for me and the atlier series, as koei's handling of it is going to keep me from buying it anymore, as I would rather not get the games at all than support such crappy business practices.

So, someone told me the preliminary release date for Dragon's Crown here in Canada is August 13th. Question is... should I pick it up digital or retail?

If you're like me and have no desire for a giant collection physical so you can sell it when you're done unless there ends up being a crazy price cut on digital.

So the same as any game honestly.

Quick question Vita gaf as I'm still a tad new to PS+.

If I download a videogame that's free to me currently and then delete it, will it still be free to me in a month when it's not free anymore (as long as I'm still subscribed to PS+)?

Yes, you can even redownload it for free as long as you stay subscribed to PS+.

That stealth release from Temco. I have the PS3 version but didn't play it. I do like rpgs better on a handheld thanks to Golden but I would like to read some gaffers impressions first.

DOA and Totori, best week for vita?

Im considering of purchasing Need for Speed Most Wanted since its on the cheap right now but not sure if I should pick up the PS3 version or the vita, anyone have some opinions on either versions.

the vita one is a visual downgrade, but it is my favourite because of the portability. i have both the ps3 and vita versions. they're both great, so you won't regret it either way!

Vita has no games. Stop spreading misinformation and FUD that there are actually things to play on it.

Mine is currently a paperweight.

because the damn battery died, now I can't download the PS All Stars characters and patch, or any of the shiny new games until I get home from work! *cries in a corner*

EDIT: Also, Persona 4 or Totori? I've been in a JRPG mood, and my Vita is jonsing for one, so which would be the better investment?

At least with P4 you definitely know it's considered a truly amazing port/game already. I'm considering Totori, just don't know much about the game/series.

persona 4, the atelier series is what I play when I want something that is JRPG like but doesn't feel like a jrpg, if you are in a JRPG mode Persona 4 would be the far better choice to me.

It's done!

Japanese voices~!

Both, duh.

Well, duh, but I just dropped $65 on God of War: Ascension, and I'm not about to drop another $70+ for two more games. I've limited myself to 1 game per month (not including really cheap sales and downloadable titles that are sub $20).

I may be able to squeeze in Persona, but I kind of want the retail version instead of digital, but digital appears to be cheaper. I have such a big backlog of Vita, PSP, and PS1 games, though, that I probably shouldn't add to it, but dammit, new game smell is my weakness!

STEALTH UPDATES ALL AROUND.

Was this even announced?

Guys, I've never played any MonHon games. Soul Sac was going to be my first experience (I know, I know, not really the same thing). Should I risk Freedom Unite at $9.99? I get sucked into certain games fairly easily. I passed on DJMax out of fear I won't emerge from playing for months.

I am going to scoop up Persona 2 for sure though since it's on sale and never played.

Man, the DoA5+ demo is 2.5GB :( That stinks since I'm not planning on buying the full game. I have to bust out my ol' 4GB card since neither of my 16GB cards have enough space.

Silent Hill update is as confounding as it is welcome, I guess.

Doesn't it cost like $10,000 to update a game on PSN. Not sure a few new missions and character accessories will make that money back.

Pulled the trigger on the HSG DLC, my game of the forever...

But guys, is Persona 3 Portable, THAT bad? I only made it about half way through Persona 3 proper, but I've been loving the shit out of P4G, and now that it's almost over, I'm going to be going through some serious withdrawal.
