Meh, doesn't sound bad at all.
So much for it being a plus...
Pretty sure Basic doesn't.
Depends on your country mate. Some basics do not.
That is true, I am still baffled that skyrim was only like 3.7 gigs on disc. But Look at games like uncharted 3 or MGS 4, those games are close to 50 gigs. I hope this is not going to be a standard.
So they really were on the money? Damn talk about gambling a reputation.
Oh, rumours! Yeah, they always turn out to be true. *insert rolleyes smiley*Past rumors from this website.

OMG SONY PATENTED THIS SO OBVIOUSLY THEY PLAN TO IMPLEMENT IT
God.
This is not some marketing catch phrase, it's a documentation for devs. If it's mandatory to be online they would say so.
THose in the know can correct me if I am wrong. But I was informed Uncharted used doubling of files to increase the snail like speed of the PS3 bluray reading.
EDGE's certainly did.Oh, rumours! Yeah, they always turn out to be true. *insert rolleyes smiley*
Whoa, are you serious? What countries skimp out of the -required- sensor bar? I didn't even know you could buy them separately. (Besides shitty 3rd party ones)
It's new console season.
Why would you need to manage HDD space when it does streaming installs and the OS could simply delete the oldest-played game?why the F would you deny playing straight off of discs? so I have to HDD space juggle?
To avoid piracy...
Sony have a patent on in-game ads: -You know, if PS4 randomly paused games and demanded I jump up, wave my arms around and yell "McDonalds" I'D PROBABLY BUY THE FUCK OUT OF THAT CONSOLE just for the hilarity.
This part of the document is simply an overview (clue was in its title) written as MS promotion to devs. You can tell that just from its tone.
There is virtually bugger all in that overview thats technical that actually helps devs
I meant in term of eliminating disc swapping...
How the fuck is kinect being included and required any different from having your Wii U sensor bar plugged in, or the PS4 and its included camera bar, which is required for tracking the new dual shock?
Well, looks like the third console curse is going to add another victim to it's list if all this BS is actually true.

It's not "ambiguous", it's a completely different context. You can't take wording clearly describing an background connectivity approach (ala WiiConnect24 or what we've seen with the PS4) and extrapolate that to prove the existence of always online DRM.Mandatory, always online (aka, no offline mode) has been a persistent rumour for the Durango. The wording in this help file, while potentially ambiguous, seems to confirm it.

The always online part doesn't bother me, but if Kinect is *required* for anything I will be extremely annoyed.
One possibility is that it will work like Steam's offline mode. You can set offline mode and play offline, but you need to check with the server to get permission first.

EDGE said:Microsoft’s next console will require an Internet connection in order to function
Surely they can't expect every owner to always be online. This is going to severely restrict their potential userbase particularly in certain markets.

Any thoughts on wtf they mean by making the controller inputs easier for "noncore gamers"? Hoping they just mean the UI
Edge are probably the only media outlet I'd believe if they published a rumour.
That is insane. What the fuck, Nintendo? The sensor bar is necessary to use the pointing functionality in their main controller! How the fuck can they leave it out of the basic bundle!? I am blown away. Why does the Basic bundle even exist.

Please don't make me have a Kinect.
What are the advantages for MS if they do this?
