My theory is she wanted to teach her parents a lesson and act the drama queen by pretending to do this but fucked up and actually hanged herself. No way does a person intentionally kill them self after an hour and a half of no phone.

Yes it's true. A bunch of places have pulled them up and out because of the prevalence of cellphones.

There are only a couple of pay phones around here, and most all of them have been disconnected - they do not work.

Ugh, my sister is turning 12 this year and she's been asking for a cellphone, too, as some of her friends already have one. I think one or two of them might even have iPhones (someone please explain to me why the hell a 10/11/12 year old needs an iPhone).

I'm going to do my best to convince my mom that all she needs is a prepaid dumbphone that's loaded with like $10/month. If she does ok with that, she can upgrade slightly when she hits middle school, and then again when she hits high school. >:|

I fucking hate smart phone culture. You've got students and adults thinking that they can't do without their phones for a period over 15 minutes. They actually start to get anxiety. It is depressing and stupid as hell.

That shit has almost killed my will to go to a bar last year.
These days my friends are a bit less obsessed or talking only through their phones when in a bar.

Most of my friends got cellphones when we were in middle school too. Well I guess the answer to your question about what a 12 year old would do with an iphone is as much as a 25 year old would do. I guess maps wouldn't be as important but listening to music, texting, pictures, games, and probably have some sort of use for it in school like using the internet or calculator. Also an iphone would probably not make you super lame in middle school.

I wouldn't necessarily have bought my daughter an iPhone, but when I upgraded from the 4 to the 5, I handed it down to her (she started with the 3GS when my wife upgraded to the 4S). I think you will find that a dumbphone is going to be more limited than is worth it.

since she is 14, he has right to see them. she was a spoiled idiot, probably regreted once she realized what she was doing, while she was hanging there like a doll. No fear from dead, kids gets whatever they want these days. So spoiled. I am so mad because of her selfish act.
