Hideo Kojima @ GDC 2013: Talk focused on FOX Engine workflow for Ground Zeroes

It would be hilarious if this guy is translating English to Japanese, and the guy asking the question is already Japanese.

I would have appreciated a question on how the FOX Engine handles voxels and sparse voxel octree techniques (if that's accounted for). But I suppose more information will come soon so I should be able to pick that up anyway. It seems to be foremost polygon-based though.

Questions that still linger:

  • Average of characters (and esp. important ones) compared to MGS4? (Once again, that polycount question to which no proper answer was provided saddened me)
  • Given the current display of software tech, does Kojima's claim that the old demo was running on a computer comparable to PS3 still holds (or is it a next gen title)?

Wat? I doubt they're bothering with voxels, was it mentioned?
 
It's easy to see why that translator got the job. Some of those questions were hard enough to understand in English, never mind translating what was said back into Japanese.
 
Didn't catch it from the beginning, but from what I saw it was a pretty sweet presentation. Does anyone know if more GDC presentations will be broadcast online? I looked on Gamespot's website but I didn't see a dedicated GDC section or anything. I'd like to possibly check out other presentations, but I figure that one was only shown because its a fairly high-profile Kojima premiere.

The full trailer they showed in the beginning, looked different than the vga. I think everything showed today was actually running console specs. Which is pretty amazing, makes you wonder what they will do next gen. I don't think kojima has programmed anything for ps4 as of yet. Don't see any dx11 like effects during the trailer either.
