Final Round 16: The Mustache Curls Back | Fighting Game Tournament | Mar 29-31

As someone who was there, Curleh Mustache booted AE off the stream during the final pools. The only top 64 matches were the ones shown after CM ended. So about the last hour or so I guess. The majority of SF4 was pool matches where you got to see guys like me get bodied by well known players. So not exactly the matches SF4 fans would want to see. So SF4 already took one for the team. I think Marvel owes the other game something as well.

I noticed that a lot of guys at Eventhubs complained about this. What they don't know is that the streams are taking place in 4 different rooms with two of them being very small and basically given to certain games only that have much less entrances. You can't move SF4 to rooms like that because pools still need to be run in the bigger room and having two people constantly leave to go to another room just to stream matches is not ideal. Plus I don't think you want to take away from these smaller games that almost never get stream time anyways.

Theres 7 streams there shouldnt be a "taking one for the team" and i dont get "owing other games something either"

Never the less SF gets top 16 streamed tomorow. Marvel is just top 8.

Savants: Marvel has already done enough. It doesn't owe these people anymore. It has has given them everything.

Minions: Not everything... Not yet

I edited my post to make it clear that these streams are taking place in smaller rooms. I don't think it's convenient to send just two players constantly to another room just for stream matches as everybody else will need to stay in the bigger room for their pools.

As for Marvel, CM was on all of Friday. If it was on all of today as well, then my goodness "When's Marvel" should never be uttered again.

CM wasnt on "all of friday" rember that Tekken batle royale thing was on friday and today too since tekken takes so long. and marvel was what 4 hours today? vs 7 8 hours of tekken today? but its cool

CM was a poorly managed mess to be fair though; there were incredible breaks between a lot of matches, and like I said before at one point yesterday I left for FOUR HOURS and they had only played a few matches in the entire time I was gone. I technically ran from about 2ish to 11, but it was only actually in play for less than half of that. Also it was a special event/exhibition so I'm not sure that counts, similar to the TTT2 invitiational last night, etc.

Today Marvel got about 5 hours which is actually less than what SF4 apparently got yesterday, but Marvel got the tail end of pools and about the top 64 to the top 32, so they did get "better" matches than SF4 got yesterday if that was just all pools.

You can't really shit on Tekken getting a lot of streamtime though since it's huge there regionally, they even make a big deal about it in all of the Final Round trailers. It's kind of like complaining about a Japanese tournament placing more time on SF than Marvel. You've got to let them do their thing.

Oh, I didn't watch the stream today, I hung out with family and just got home from Georgia today. I just assumed that Marvel was streamed all day, didn't know Tekken got so much priority.

Well damn that explains a lot. I was wondering how this tournament took 10 hours to run. I stayed in the SF4 room the whole time so I had no idea what took Marvel so long to finish. Just that they came to the room where SF4 took place and booted it off the stream.

So i had to be busy all day, how was Marvel stuff today, and is it worth going back to the archives for?
Not really, mostly pools matches and just scrub stomping. Schmidt vs Champ was good, as was Die vs Noel, Angelic vs Pain and Clock vs PRRog (even though it was a stomping). There was a troll match between Fanatiq and ChrisG, obvious yellow card material.

A lot of the better matches happened off stream though.

Other than KOF top 8 its been just Tekken from 10 am till 430 ish where mvc pool sstarted

They finished the 5v5 then went into pools, then switched to marvel now back to tekken to much complaining about but there will always be complaining.

Final Round is Tekken land and I think the community vastly prefer TTT2 to Tekken 6, so there's more participants than in the last few years which is probably why many viewers are surprised to see so much stream time dedicated to it.

All I remember is the cm was on the main stream for awhile then it was switched to darkstalkers and cm was supposed to move to the secondary stream.

Yeah, I think it was just a combination of starting late, button checks taking forever, and just general downtime a lot. Not sure if players were getting pulled off to do their singles matches and that's what was causing the problem or what. When I got back home it was already supposed to have been over for an hour and they were only like halfway through. I really have no idea.

Only reason there was more SF4 was because it came back on stream with Top 64 once the exhibition was over. No one's saying Marvel won't be back on stream today/finish top 64 to top 8 tomorrow on some other stream while some other top 8 is going on.

Given that multiple people are apparently confirmed to already be in top 8 Marvel, no way more of that is happening tonight.

Anyway, sp00kys numbers have dropped literally nearly in half since Tekken came back on. I respect the local crowd wanting to do their thing, but it's obviously not what the people at home want, I'm surprised they're not utilizing the other stream options they have available for the other games.

And Marlipie beats Rog Rog is out of the tournament

I think the last time the major mvc stuff hasnt been streamed was at NEC when Bifuteki packed it up. :(
