That's what she said.

@topic I dont think its a horn lol. Must be some kind of splinter from a fight, which is dangerous to remove in that area

I'd love to see the explanation and how they're going to remove it or completely retcon the earlier games.

All this shit is making me buy the HD collection. I rented it from Gamefly, but now I need to buy it. $23 for 2,3, and PW? That's a deal and a half. I'd buy them on Live, but it makes no sense to me that it costs more than to buy the actual discs. PW is $20 on it's own, and 2/3 are only $25 together? Weird pricing.

EDIT: Actually I forgot I had some Turk money left over, so $3.92 for the HD collection. Tremendous. So hyped.

And the mechanical hand. But I doubt they're concerned with "retconning" a character's appearance from MG1 or 2.

Iirc, they already retconned his eye injury. He was rumored to have cyborg parts in Metal Gear 2 as well so theyll probably just bump that back too.

So, totally off-topic, but I've never played PO and don't own a PSP anymore. Is it worth watching a LP or youtubing the cutscenes? Or is it just a wiki/don't bother?

Humans can grow horns!

You should play it on the HD collection. It was almost unplayable on PSP, yet great in HD.

I'd play the game. But that's just me. If you can't find someone to lend you a PSP with PO then I suppose watching the cutscenes is better than staying ignorant about this part of the storyline.

I'm sure this has been brought up already, but DAYUM does this game look good for the paltforms it's on. Has the footage been confirmed to be from PS360?

Wait, you didn't like MGS3?! That's crazy talk you're crazy!

I didn't get this tag without reason.

Gameplay wise MGS3 was the pinnacle of of the series. Absolutely excellent. Story wise it was the beginning of a tragic decent into pure trash. Thus, for me every game after the perfect Sons of Liberty has been nothing but shit.

I don't want to start this thing again. I try and stay out of MGS threads for this very reason.

Remember guys. It's only my opinion.

He is, have you seen his MGS collection?

Haha. I added Snatcher and 2 North American MG Rising LEs and a Japanese MG Rising Premium Package as well as a MGS Peace Walker PSP bundle. Running out of room.

Wtffffffffffff

The best gameplay (and a better story than 2) yet it's complete shit? Doesn't even make sense. If any game was the start of the downfall of the story, it was 2.

Good timing.

Fair enough, sir. Sorry, I didn't mean to bring THE MIGHTY FIST OF GAF down on your head!

And thats your opinion ofcours. I loved the story in MGS3. After MGS1 that is the best game in the series (my opinion)

Oh God, the soldier-dragging. At least PW had fulton recovery. If I recall correctly, you could do so in PO, but they were way more limited.

Yes you could do a Fulton recovery but they were indeed limited. If I remember correctly the noise from the Fulton would get the guards come and investigate the area if they heard the Fulton. I used box recoveries the most.

You're right about the story, but the game design in MGS3 is broken. Probably the lowest moment of the series overall.

The camo index was annoying as well as healing given the heavy reliance on the menu but the overall diversity of the environments, bosses and soldiers made me enjoy it the most (gameplay wise).

Personally, I much preferred running around environments and staying out of sight over having to crawl everywhere while going into the pause menu every 10 seconds to change camo. Also, having to do that painfully slow "stalk" to sneak up on enemies without being heard was irritating.

mgs3 wasnt the perfect game by all means, just story wise it did a brill job building up the big boss charater and the ending was sublime.

When you consider that Big Boss had direct contact not only in the Davy Crockett explosion but also in the Bikini Atoll testing, it sure makes sense to develop that horn..

I'm starting to think that, but it's super rare. If Kojima is saying it's part shrapnel and bone, then I don't know if it holds up.

Having just seen a MG2 run, the Boss' face is never shown entirely so it's definitely possible for them to put that horn in there and say he always had it

Seems nonsensical to put any weight behind the timelines before playing the game as far as I'm concerned, but it's not just his hair, his face looks less wrinkled and worn, it looks thinner, he looks younger all around. He also has a horn coming out of his head, a mechanical hand, it's just pure kojima craziness. If not a dream, then I guess it must be nanomachines.

What is so crazy about a prosthetic hand and a piece of debris in his head? Any of the supernatural illusions can totally be accounted for with Psycho Mantis.

MGS1 Naomi : "It must have been psychometric interferance coming from Psycho Mantis. FOX-HOUND’s psychic. Think of it as a mental feedback loop."
