Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Since the top of grips and button mods has come up, I wanted to post my Vita as I ADORE it

The Nyko power grip doubles the battery life, makes it VERY comfortable for my bear paws, and the concave button caps make it much more comfortable to use the sticks.

Can't wait as next month I have a 7 hour flight ahead of me and my Vita will be my best friend during the trip.

I recommend ape escape on the loose. The original ps1 game was what Mario 64 was for many people. And it plays great on Vita.

So, yeah: Geo Block changing doesn't count Mana/EXP for you at the killer. At least I got Puzzle Master (clear all Geo Blocks) and Combo No. 255 out of it.

...did the Vita's IGC not update yet?

Not this week. We just got Disgaea 3 (last months) last week.

My Vita is similar to vivftp except I have the PDP triggers instead and I love them. I almost got the Nyko grips and I'm sure I would've enjoyed them as well had I gotten them. Vita grips + thumbstick grips make for much more comfortable gaming that doesn't even cost over $30 if you look in the right places.

I got the PDP grips too, but honestly I don't like the feel of them at all. It's currently sitting in a drawer somewhere. Honestly, I'd take the Nyko Power Grip even if it didn't have the battery pack simply because it fits so nicely in the hand now.

Anyways, any bets on how long it'll take for Sony to release a larger memory card or finally reveal what the mystery port on the Vita is for? My guess is E3 for both answers... or rather my hope is, but a part of me fears we won't see higher capacity memory cards until next year and we'll possibly never find out wtf that port is for.

Came here to say that the Tomb Raider games on sale WILL work on Vita. (dunno about Anniversary but all the others say Vita).

I'll take that PDP grip from you vivftp! :P

But you take my PDP grip, what will I fill my drawer with? :(

Anyways, what are the going theories on what the mystery port on the Vita is for?

The Nyko power grip doubles the battery life, makes it VERY comfortable for my bear paws, and the concave button caps make it much more comfortable to use the sticks.

How sturdy is that, though? I had power grips for my PSP-1001, and the PSP kept getting loose whenever I would press too hard on the buttons or nub. Basically pressing hard on one side would kind of twist it out of the grips.

Ended up using duct tape, but I'm not sure that's feasible with a Vita.

It can't twist out unless you unlock it via the slider, and if the slider isn't locked properly while the Vita is connected it'll flash a red light at you to warn you. So pretty good!

Vita #2 has arrived! A friend picked up an ice white model for me while on a trip in Japan, the recent price-cut over there made for a pretty sweet deal. He got the double-dip pack of Soul Sacrifice, so we'll be getting tangled up in multiplayer shortly.

I was considering downloading PSO2, but not sure how impenetrable it is.. has anyone else tried it out and if so, is it worth the effort?

Also randomly took a punt on digital Oboromuramasa last night (curse the immediacy of Play-Asia's instant Japanese PSN digital code service!). I loved it on the Wii, but boy do the graphics shine on dat OLED. I didn't think the game could look any more beautiful, but it seems Vita does what Nintendon't ;)

How are you finding Muramasa on the Vita? I've imported the Japanese version but won't have it until late April so I'm sitting here rather impatiently waiting for it!

From the briefest of brief playing time so far, it's fantastic. The 16:9 ratio on the Vita screen is perfect for it. I'm not sure if it's the tightness of the graphics on screen compared to playing on a TV, but the parallax effect of the environments appears less obvious than in the Wii version, yet flows more fluidly as a result... overall it runs like silk. I'll try and snap some more pics in-game if you like.

Ah, the lovely Momohime *swoon*

Please do snap some more pictures when you get the chance, it sounds like an excellent port. Do you know if the DLC chapters/characters are available yet or are they released at a later date?

How long is Muramasa?

I think the Wii version took me 20-30 hours when I played it to 100%. It has two big scenarios (each with their own character and story) and each character has three endings you can get. Then there is unlocking all the swords and secret areas which were the real tough bits in the game for me. There's a nice decent amount of content there if your interested in 100%ing it.

Thanks sounds like i can safely get it on day 1 then :)
Just need to spam Ghostlight a bit to ask if they are bringing it to EU.

I hope it does get an EU release as usually I'd just get that version but as I've heard nothing about it getting an EU release yet I decided to import instead (that and I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it!)

When's the EU demo for Soul Sacrifice coming? :( Will there even be one?
There will be a EU demo for Soul Sacrifice, but nobody knows when it'll be out. I wouldn't be surprised if it's released at or after the full game is launched at this point.

I personally love it and have had no issues of stability.

The problem is trigger intensive games are still awful feeling on the vita with this add on or not.

Any guesses if we will get PS2 library for Vita? That would be a bomba E3 anouncement
I don't think you're using that word right, lol. Do you mean a megaton announcement?

I doubt we'll get PS2 games playable on Vita. Publishers would rather just sell PS2 HD remakes instead.
