Just talking about fusion
if they brought back fusion and made it so that only Dunsparce and Stunfisk could fuse, I'd let it slide

If you break down what I'm saying without the nostalgia trigger word, all it is is that your taste is influenced by your upbringing. Is this false?
Would you argue that the person you are today and all of the values you possess are completely independent from the experiences you've had in the X number of years you've lived? This is naive. You can't escape from your past; it makes you whom you are, in every facet of your being.
I think it's hilarious when people try to deny nostalgia affecting them, as it affects every human being on this planet. They should accept and embrace it.
This is ultimately why there is no point bringing it up in the first place. There is no discussion to have, it's basically just a cheap way of saying 'you're wrong' without actually having to go into detail why.
You're exactly right. It was a trivial comment. In fact, if you go back to the original post I made, it was very trivial indeed. The discussion was blown much farther out of proportion than I had intended, so it appears I'm trying to have this profound argument, when I was really just saying something straightforward.
Gamefreak has lost all of it's charm.
They look random. These "deer" pokemon have always been awful and I hate that they are missing mouths. The bird does not look like it could fly, it's legs look like they are made of jelly. The other legendary has weird colouring and the details feel random and not contributing to the idea of it.
So yeah, not that amazing.

The last Pokemon I played was gold back in the GBC and these look awesome to me :/
Slept on it, and nope, still don't like it. Penis Toes McGamecube Head.
Nice, man. Poke fan artists get there stuff outta the door fast.

I actually think this is the first time I drew a Pokemon since the blue/red GBC days lol
I've been playing these games since Christmas 1998, and yes I have a soft spot for Gen 1 above all others.Hey, me pointing out that the original Mewtwo, aka The Bits and Bobs King, wouldn't sit well with Gen 1 fans if it had released in later gens, isn't a condescending statement, it's true. Proof's in the poke-pudding -- here we have a design more streamlined than the original, the original having weird stubby protrusions and tubes in its neck and so on, and yet, people treat the new Mewtwo -- which has symmetrical claws, a truly sleek head, etc -- as though it's the inelegant one. Ah well, they'll warm up to it!

GET HELP.
IMMEDIATELY.

That said, if Mewtwo's design came out today, I'd probably prefer it to "Mewthree." Why?
Mewtwo's hands and feet are actually hands and feet, and not nubs. He also has a tail, rather than a protrusion attached to the head that's "basically a tail but is supposed to look sort of like hair?" And, the neck-tube is excused because I excuse the head-ring on Mewthree as well.
In the end I think Mewthree is alright, and I started in Gen 1. Preference for Mewtwo comes from more places than nostalgia.

By the way, all this secrecy regarding typings honestly leads me to believe they will be a new one (or two). Did reveals in past gens come with typings?
These legendaries are pretty good and are easily the best cover legendaries since Lugia/ho-oh.They look random. These "deer" pokemon have always been awful and I hate that they are missing mouths. The bird does not look like it could fly, it's legs look like they are made of jelly. The other legendary has weird colouring and the details feel random and not contributing to the idea of it.

All of the Mew iterations hands are impractical and would never be useful. Nothing about Mewtwo's hand makes it any more functional than Mewthree's. Not to mention Mew is the most useless of them all.I've been playing these games since Christmas 1998, and yes I have a soft spot for Gen 1 above all others.

Mewtwo's hands and feet are actually hands and feet (regardless of "bunny feet lololol"), and not nubs. He also has a tail, rather than a protrusion attached to the head that's "basically a tail but is supposed to look sort of like hair?" And, the neck-tube is excused because I excuse the head-ring on Mewthree as well, where neither are truly necessary aspects of the overall designs.
In the end I think Mewthree is alright, and I started in Gen 1. Preference for Mewtwo comes from more places than nostalgia. I'm not saying I'm correct, but I'm offering a reasonable opinion.
I really strongly dislike Ho-oh for some reason. Always have. It's definitely in my bottom 2 or 3 mascot legendaries. Tied with Palkia.
Sorry, I was treating the hypothetical situation as if Mewtwo/Mewthree didn't exist until now, and either they both were shown or only Mewtwo was shown (and I'd be like "that's a good design" over "that's an acceptable design"). But I guess the true hypothetical situation is if the two were swapped. What I'm basically saying is, you would have the same reaction towards Mewtwo if it was revealed now, as you do have with Mewthree. Its fine not to like its hands or toes or whatever.
I'm just going by pictures and from a pure aesthetic perspective, not really focusing on function. All of the Mew iterations hands are impractical and would never be useful. Nothing about Mewtwo's hand makes it any more functional than Mewthree's. Not to mention Mew is the most useless of them all.
I love the Newtwo! By the way, what if Newtwo is the one that is transforming into Mewtwo? And the Mewtwo we originally saw in the trailer, wasn't really Mewtwo and was Newtwo disguised as him. That could also explain why he replaces Mewtwo in the movie art. I'm conflicted, though, because in Newtwo's reveal it states "This new Pokemon", indicating that it's not a forme, but if it were to replace Mewtwo in the movie art, then that would indicate it's a form and not a "new Pokemon"... so, it's either a new forme or what I speculated. I mean, it's possible to be a "new Pokemon", too, and replace Mewtwo in the art, but that doesn't make as much sense.

In that case, I really don't know how I'd feel.
Mewtwo doesn't really need a forme that changes anything, since he's still pretty much a god among Pokémen, and I think that's what a lot of people are hung up on (and why the website's not helping). It could be something like Resolute Forme where it's purely aesthetic, it could be some crazy new mechanic, or it could be an entirely new Pokemon.
OH, OK, then yea. Ignore what I said lol.
The movie's title has "Mewtwo's Awakening", so that seems to indicate it will be more powerful or something. Though thinking about it, it seems like this will be more of a speed stat increase, since the full title of the movie is "Extremespeed Genesect: Mewtwo's Awakening", so it could be possible Mewtwo needs more speed to keep up with Genesect.
Plus, if the form name that accompanied the leak is of any indication, that also makes sense. Eclair Forme, as in the french for flash, lightning etc

According to the movie, it's a new form of Mewtwo that awakens at level 100:

I wonder if it could it be that MewThree is a new species with multiple formes.
I'm guilty of using the terms myself, but I think that "genwunners" and "nostalgia" are buzzwords that are being thrown around here a bit too much.
That said, I don't think I've seen a bigger meltdown over a single new Pokémon.
