I don't know where he is from either. I used to think he was from the Batman series because I saw him in the Long Halloween comic arc but he apparently fought Green Lantern first and has also fought Superman. He just seems like a multi-verse villain sort of like Dr Doom who appears as a main villain for both F4 and Spider Man.

My favorite character in DC aside from the god damn Batman is Slade/Deathstroke. He is also a villain who appears against various heroes. Aside from a few characters I really don't care abouy DC much. The new Green Arrow TV series is nice though and has me interested in that hero but he's just a Batman + Hawkeye type character.

Sucks that I can't really talk about too much until NRS releases more info about the game.
But I will say now that the game is leaked early I don't want to hear BS about banning testers from tournaments. By the time the first tourney rolls around the leaked game will be out for as long as some (not all) of the people tested were playing it.
 
Tekken characters are no more or less dumb than SF characters, well aside from stuff like Ogres, bears and robots. The bad ass quota is extremely high in Tekken... Bryan, Feng Wei, Raven, Bruce, Kazuya, Dragonuv, Law, Steve etc. Manly as fuck characters. A lot of the Tekken characters ended up looking bad because of bad art in SFxT.

  • Lex Luthor

Injustice characters whom I know anything about in terms of story:

Characters are only a deal breaker for me if I think they look dumb. Like I'm not particularly fond of the characters in street fighter but I don't think they're dumb and boring so that's good enough for me.
 
So GAF I have a question. Do you think tge reason more top players are not in a rush to find a Morr/Doom counter, pick Morr/Doom, or pick a top tier; players like Justin and what not, is because Chris G keeps splitting the pots between the top players in Top 8 at majors?

I personally do. I think if Chris wasnt splitting all the time and people like JWong, Champ, and the,like were going home with nothing or just $50 they would step their shit up fast but they dont have to. 7th, 5th, and 1st all pay the same so what's the inssentive to step your game up?

It's because they don't feel the need to do so when they can pot monster locally while having to do zero work. Partly due to having so many new games comes out this year that split practice time.

Pot splits would definitely contribute though - why bother if it doesn't matter? UFGT-style payout systems are the best because they work against Pot splits by making the gaps much less severe.

Most top players are using top tier already. I seriously doubt there is any pot splitting going on especially among East coast and West coast players. Maybe ChrisG will split with RayRay but unlikely he would do it with Flocker, Champ, Justin, Rog etc.

There's no hard counter to Morrigan/Doom and to play a team designed to beat the duo would require them to pick up new characters and put them through the tournament grind which they can't afford to as they will drop games.

I would also add that most top players just don't like playing Morrigan. Similar to in Vanilla where even though Phoenix was the best many players would never use her, they just didn't like her style. You will never see Yipes using Morrigan, its not his style.

What makes you think he'd do that, especially when he's better on a skill level free and could be making way more profit if he didn't? The characters he's picking is not the whole reason he is winning.

You do realize FR was a 6 way pot split right? If you think coast has anything to do with it you're wrong. Champ and Chris split EVO 1st and 3rd. Chris splits like every major.

This mirrors my experience with M:TG - pot splits happen all the time unless someone thinks they have a massive edge when it gets down to the T8/T4.

almost always results in an 8-way $125 pot split at my local store. It's an incentives issue with the averaged-out value for 75% of the players being higher than their "normal" payout (and everyone still plays for the invites anyway.).

I guess pot splitting is a good theory for ChrisG dominating everyone with a team nobody else plays at a high level, because the alternative explanation is that ChrisG just works harder than everyone else.

You're assuming that there's a high risk situation like that exists in your M:TG tournaments.

Chris G winning is a pretty consistent result and if I was Chris G I'd take the chances every time. So what if he get's 2nd or 3rd on the rare occasion? Those 70% payouts are worth it for 99% of the time. It's either he's really that paranoid of losing or he's being bullied by everyone else, both unlikely scenarios.

By the way I heard about the FR split from Flocker and Greenace at McDonalds. Anyone who went to FR knows the one.

If I'm Chris G OR Champ at Evo in that LF match and the split is offered? I'm snap taking it. That matchup was 50/50 at the time. People are naturally risk averse.

Scythe yes but ZTS often comes off a very condescending towards FGC-Gaf. I do not agree that his arguments are presented in good faith because when he is challenged his retorts are usually "gaf gonna gaf" or something of that nature.

Pot splitting exists, I will never deny that especially in locals but in majors and EVO with so many different players at the big stage... yea I want a little more than hearsay to confirm a 6 way pot splitting.

Duh, I've only been telling people from the jump at the retail build is WAY different from the demo. Even the version on the disc is way different from the final final release. There are still balance changes coming for day 1 patch.

There's a bunch with great netcode....but you have to like 3d fighters (VF 5 FS, SC 5, TTT2). Or Darkstalkers, that shit is perfect online.

Never got into the 3d fighters sadly. And I know some of those older games like 3rd Strike and Darkstalkers have great online since they use GGPO. It's kinda sad that these games that came out a decade ago now have better online than most modern fighting games =(
