Yeah, I don't know where that came from. It's not going to be something like Samson. They'll probably be split between Venus, Feng and Annie. Venus covers the monster and female groups in one fell swoop so that works too, I guess. I find it hard to believe that they'll crowd around Minette with those three around. Not to mention Molly who is the only mecha pilot in the whole cast. That's gotta count for something over there.

Speaking of Venus, after watching some of that slow motion breakdown stuff for Double, I'm starting to come around on Venus a bit. If Venus means more of those weird creepy impossible gross transformations, that would actually be pretty awesome. I don't think I'll be changing my votes but I won't be disappointed if she takes it.

On the other hand, not to be prude, at the same time I am also slightly worried about what she'd do for the game's image if she wins (she's literally just wearing lingerie) which already isn't given a fair shake by some people.

And to see someone someone shifting monstrosity on each limb, as it does more ferocious attacks, sounds pretty cool in SG artstyle.

VERY much like Victor from Darkstalkers, and kinda like Tessa's arm taking on the Dragon-form in Warzard / Pocket Fighter.

I haven't played the games you mentioned so I suppose I'm not coming from the same place as you! I know she wouldn't be bad; I have no doubt that Lab Zero would make her as awesome as possible. Still, given the character competition it's still surprising to me that she's still around! I guess some characters come across better in their appearance and gameplay snippets than others.

You aren't the only one. It's the same reason why I wanted D.Violet and Venus to stay away for a while. They're not what the game needs right now. The game needs penis, robots/mechs, soldiers, acrobats, waitresses and hardcore fighters. The last thing it needs is drama.

If Beowulf ends up being the only manly man left, he has my vote. I'm really hoping Panzerfaust makes it further though.

I'm just surprised at how much of her gameplay is skipped over, to JUST what MikeZ has demo'd + Cody Looks. As if she doesn't have a whole 2nd bunch of stuff written about her.

Just like with Aeon. The time ability most speak about sounds like it might be a lvl 5 super. The "Using alternate versions of the cast, and characters unknown" or "attacking with sand and glass" aspects sound like they'll make MUCH more of her overall gameplay, and also like they'd help us see characters who don't get in, make an appearance for a few attack frames.

Just like Double's LvL 3 lets us see loads of snippets of not-in-game stuff already. I'd love to see more character who can pull off nice "for the fans!" stuff like that.

Also, If Scythana LOOKs dull... How do people think Venus LOOKs interesting? Strider Hiryu Scarfs can do wonders, I guess? (I know not to disrespect the power of Glasses, ha).

I'm surprised anyone pays attention to what she's wearing, in a way. Palette trickery could also be manages pretty well, to make her look like she's wearing just as much as someone like Fortune or Painwheel.

I do agree, the game could use as much to bolster it's variety as possible, however. Something that's greater than the "pervy/creepy" side, which the game displays much too easily.

Thankfully, by the time we see these voted characters, Squigly and Big Band will have been in the roster a while already, and variety will already be better than the initial cast ever provided.

If this was based on voting with all of the characters available I would agree with you.

But once we reach the top 4 votes will stack.

People who like moe will be stacking whoever survives among Feng, Annie and Minette

Dudes who love everyman bros will be stacking over Stanley, Isaac and Beowolf

People who want broken as fuck mechanics will be stacking Isaac, Aeon

Badass fanboys will be stacking between panzerfaust, beowolf, brain drain and maybe Annie if they had a clue.

There are so many possible combinations of stacking I don't see them as a lock. I strongly suspect Isaac and Beowolf will force a lot of splitting that would prevent them from winning the whole thing if they both make top 4.
 
I hate that my top five is so competitive. Molly is so cool, but the game needs Y chromosomes bad and I really want to see a mix of Makoto, Psylocke and Jam in there. Then we've got the closest thing to Sol Badguy since... Sol himself.

Autumn better get their shit together once this lawsuit business is done.

I hope they don't base the roster for a SkullGirls 2 solely on these fan votes, that would suck. I'm pretty sure I don't have to worry about that though.

I feel like the results of these polls might motivate future roster decisions, but not dictate them. The team seems pretty dedicated to telling stories in this universe, so story-relevant characters would probably be a priority in the possible sequel, followed by a fan favorite or two that still "fits" into the narrative okay.

I personally also hope that we someday get Umbrella, B. Dahlia and Marie all into Skullgirls 1, along with canon story mode... but at this rate that would involve LZ working on this game till 2015. Probably not super likely.

Agreed, SG made by committee wouldn't have Double (grotesque and sounds too vanilla mechanics wise) or Cerebella (grappler hate and dorky hat) and would've had guys in the starting cast (in of itself isn't bad but would neuter the groundbreaking factor)

I'd be okay with this. I'd prefer Eliza over Annie, but I'm strangely confident enough that Eliza would be in SG2
