To see the scan, google "drive club edge scan" and then look at the google images of your search....you will see a side view of a black koenigsegg in a snowy environment driving up to 3 black cars with red stripes.......a zonda r, porsche 997 gt3 and I believe a ferrari f430 scuderia...

really like the subtle use of depth of field to blur out the spectators.
I noticed that too. It really goes a long way to hiding the fact that they probably look like ass.
Every time I see screens from a racing game like this, it makes me wish I liked cars/racing games. They're so pretty to look at but I suck at them and don't enjoy them. Will definitely give a demo a shot to see how it looks.

Ditto! Best launch EVER if PS4 can launch with Destiny, Drive Club, Knack, and WatchDogs.
Destiny is confirmed for mid-2014 to keep it spread out from CoD.
My launch list is looking like Shadow Fall, BF4, Watch_Dogs and Second Son. I'll probably get Knack not too long after if it's good, I'm not big on platformers.

It's such a shame PD wouldn't cooperate. Now Sony is the weird spot of having to wait to announce a PS4 GT so as not to eat into DC's sales.
Maybe Evolution want to make a name for them self, if the game is well reviewed I think they can pull off at least over a 1Mil sale in the first quarter of the console's life. but i get what you're saying have GT in the name would guarantee 4Mil sales tops.

I don't know dude, look at Naughty Dog, they let Sony Bend make an Uncharted game for Vita. Insomniac handed Resistance to Sony Bend as well. You need to cooperate with other devs when you are working for a big publisher. Polyphony Digital seems to have an ego problem, not letting Evolution use the GT name only creates rift between the two. And it probably hurts the feelings of devs working at Evo, they were probably like, "do they think we suck?, do they not have confidence in us?" etc
I think the Japanese division is too soft. It would be like Dice saying, no you can't use our engine! fuck off and make your own...wtf? You gotta cooperate with one another.

Because they were making Uncharted and Resistance. This isn't Gran Turismo. Just because it has real cars doesn't make it Gran Turismo. GT is a sim racer. That's it core. That's why it exists. It's also a series about including all cars. One of the vehicles that Kaz hyped most in GT5 was the Samba Bus. Do you think something like that will be anywhere near DriveClub? No, because this game is about supercars. It's more Need for Speed than Gran Turismo.
PD could've slapped Gran Tuirmso onto their own Tourist Trophy title when they released it. But they didn't. Why? Because it wasn't GT.

Bravo sir! One thing PD could do though is extend their studio in Europe. Hiring some experience from Europe would benifit GT loooot. Language barrier? Kaz needs to adjust to that

Another point is that Sony needs to create a second viable racing franchise. GT is huge, but it there's no real timetable for when a new one will be available. They need another big racing series to go along with it. A game that offers something different from GT. They've been trying to a while now and haven't been able to find a game that can maintain its popularity.
Yep. They need a PGR to go with their Forza.
Evolution can fend for themselves, no need to attach the GT name.

And rightfully so. It would only dilute the brand, not to mention the risk of damaging it.
Gran Turismo is a premium product/brand, it comes out when it's done, and has it's own set of standards.
This is the only post I've read that actually made a convincing argument for not having the GT name on this. Bravo.

Anyway it's hard to tell graphically how good it is from the scan, I'm really hoping evo sheds some light on the single player aspect.
i agree with this. glad that polyphony has the integrity to not dillute their brand. i think this should have been an arcade racer, with unique style to differentiate itself. but thats neither here nor there, this could be great who knows.
I just saw the scan, looks great but could be a cut scene for loading the group/car meet or something.
Still, no denying that this is one launch window game on my radar. Just hope it doesn't suffer developers remorse a year of two later when the inevitable sequel spawns and the devs use PR speak like "We had to cut a lot of features to make the launch and we weren't overly happy with the final product".
