Coming later this evening is the next system software update for PS Vita. We’ve listened to your feedback and have included many improvements to make your PS Vita experience much more enjoyable, such as adding a new folder system that allows you to organize your games and apps.

Here’s a look at some of the new enhancements you can expect with software update v.2.10:
  • Create folders to more easily manage your favorite application icons on the home screen, with up to 10 icons in each folder and a maximum of 100 on the home screen (including icons inside the folders).
  • Verify which PS Vita card you are using by looking at the home screen’s info bar. You can also save the layout of your home screen icons in the memory card.
  • Added video support allows you to play videos within the browser (memory card required; some videos are not supported).
  • New email enhancements allows you to view HTML messages, add multiple email addresses to your contacts, and easily search your messages using the new search feature.
  • PlayStation Plus members will be able to automatically update PlayStation Mobile format software and upload game save data onto online storage using 3G connection.
  • New “Mute Automatically” option will mute your PS Vita speakers when your headset is unplugged and pause your music when using the music app.

Folders? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Now I can dump everything that isn't my games and trophies in a folder titled "do not click" and throw it to the back. GLORIOUS.

Megaton, but if I have more than say 10 PSP games that I want to group together then I'd have to keep them in separate folders?

It would be great to have an overhaul of the entire UI........those bubbles just look ugly IMO.....

A more android-like interface would be nice..

Yeah. You'll have to come up with some way to sub-divide them.

I hope whey they say the icon limit may not be lifted, it doesn't mean 100 icons total still.

I hope it means that only 100 icon on the 10 main pages, but with folders, you could possibly have up to 1000 bubbles.

Can't wait to do some Spring cleaning.

Fuck yeah! Watching videos in browser is something I really miss on my PS Vita.

I use my Vita every day in my bed for browsing the internet. I don't even play games on this thing. Hehehe.

time to put all the crap in one folder. and keep the gaming icons together

edit : also a question, does anyone know for how long a GAF member is a junior ?

Video streaming didn't come launch on the Vita?!

lol

Launched with Netflix, got Youtube shortly after. The video streaming being referenced is for browser-based sources.

Make sure you troll a 3DS thread while you're at it: the 3DS doesn't support YouTube in any form.

10 icons per folder is ok I guess when you consider that iphone has a limit of 12 per folder IIRC.

Video streaming is also probably HTML5 compliance/support since it still doesn't have it:

Finally I can make my PSone, PSP, Vita games folder.
But I'm also happy about the in browser video streaming although probably it means that the Youtube video plugin will be open in the browser instead of opening the full Youtube app separately as it happens atm.
