Now that bioshock infinite is out can someone please ask if the bioshock vita game is alive or cancelled?

top of the page: buy guacamelee, totori and edf2017, do NOT buy life of a pixel.

If it doesn't exist now, it won't exist in the future. Ken Levine's said multiple times that the game's development is up to the business people. Business people are not funding Vita games.

Just finished Mentor (Very Hard) on NGS2+ -- I just unlocked Master Ninja, but I'm wondering if I should just take the game back.

Unrelated to the Vita entirely, I completed ZoE2HD on Hard yesterday and I gotta say, it was MUCH harder than NGS2+ on Mentor, and I'm certain Master Ninja. The horrific part of the game, having played the whole thing, is the difficulty is adjusted in ways that don't make sense (TDS being exponentially more powerful and any other weapon on bosses etc.).

FAKEEDIT: holy crap, Master Ninja is easier than Mentor 'cause it uses lower level enemies. Bosses may be harder but, ugh. Well I'm glad I never bought it. I may have cared more if the frame-rate was either not so garbage or it was achievements and not trophies (yeah I'm one of those, sue me).

--

Next game I play is either Guacamelee, P4G or Jet Set Radio if I don't like either of the former two.

Weren't those words relative to borderlands 2?
Anyway asking is free :)

No. Am I the only one put off by the way developers are doing things nowadays? Having to BEG people to give them Our money?

It really turns me off from their game tbh.

Uh... this is quite ridiculous if you ask me.
Developers using social media to gauge the market for a port?
It's pretty savvy if you want the developer to stay in business.
They can figure out if they'll make enough money to offset the cost of porting the game.
Nobody asked you to beg. And they're not begging either.
It's a simple question:
How many people would buy this game if we put it out for platform x?

Firmware update? No, not yet. Store update? Yes.

Hey, I wanted to tell you that I just beat Wild Arms.
Thanks again, man!

Take it back? Did you rent it? Otherwise, I don't understand... unless you bought it used somewhere and they have the GS-esque policy of "return within 7 days if you're not happy"...

And I'm not even going to touch your FAKEEDIT. :lol

It's off-putting because if you're really interested in bringing a game to a platform and profiting from it, then port the damn game and market it. It's a reliable formula.

I've only started seeing this idiotic "guaging of interest through the miniscule sample size of messge boards/Twitter" this generation, and nothing ever comes from it except wasted time and broken dreams.

No problem! I got about halfway through UG&G, but MAN is that game hard lol.

Actually I have a game rental subscription that lets me take out a few games at one and keep them for as long as I like. However for games I want to keep I usually buy them straight after trying. Uh, I guess it's kinda like pirates "trying out" games before finally buying them, except not so illegal.

What's wrong with the fake-edit? Raptr urged me to try getting one more trophy and I thought I may as well, and Master Ninja really is easier. Instead of Tactical Ninja you have the standard ones (not even golden like Xbox 360) -- the strange thing is that it runs a bit better when they're the only ones on the screen. It's a shame Master Ninja wasn't available from the get-go.

I lent my voice to the XCOM on Vita bandwagon on that PS Blog post.

As I've said a million times before, not everybody buys every game on everything when it comes out. I know gaming is an addiction for most of us on GAF, and we buy the games day one, even when we don't have the time to play said games, and thus amass shameful backlogs, but again, not everybody does that.

Also, portable gaming consoles are just that; portable. They are for people that want to play their games on the go. I didn't want a Vita so that I could sit on my couch and play Uncharted, when I have a perfectly capable PS3, with three Uncharted games right there. I bought my Vita so I could play Uncharted on the bus to work, or in the DMV when I was renewing my expired license. Or in the doctor's office.

I've never played XCOM. My buddies have it on the PC, and I've heard amazing things about it, but I've never bought it because I simply don't have much time at home to game, hence the, "it would be awesome to have this game on my Vita, since I have way more time to game on the go than I do at home."

A lot of developers, if they don't see that support from the Vita community for the games they are making, well, we just won't get them. If you've already bought XCOM on the PC, and have no desire to get it on the Vita, that's cool, XCOM on Vita clearly isn't geared towards to you. For the rest of us, that don't want all of our games ending up in a Steam or PS3 or 360 backlog, but want to actually play the games we buy, seeing these popular, quality games show up on the Vita is fantastic.

I bought Terraria on Steam. I bought it on PS3, and I'm going to buy it on Vita, because I want to play Terraria everywhere.

Oh, this isn't an angry rant, more of an observation I notice when a lot of ports of Steam or PSN, or other console titles are announced for the Vita. Yes, some of them we've played before, but the Vita isn't a console. It's a portable gaming device, with the express purpose of being a portable gaming device.

And come on, admit it, I'm sure some of you want to play XCOM on the shitter without having a gaming laptop burning your thighs...

*sigh* Yup, it appears that MNM actually runs better than Mentor, and it's very noticeable. Probably doesn't run good on certain chapters still, but I guess I should mention this in that other video I did before.

I'm very happy about folders in the new update.

They're not gauging interest, they're successfully getting people to talk about their game on social media. This will not affect their decision to port it or not.

Not so much -- some games are marketed to Hell and back and still don't sell what the publisher wants or expects. It's not a guarantee that if you put money into marketing, your product will sell.

Contrastingly, taking advantage of the internet and social media to facilitate communcation between the general public and developers is fucking amazing... I don't know how anyone can knock it. People bombarded Re-Logic via social media and whoa, look, we're getting Terraria on Vita. People petitioned to get FROM to port Dark Souls to PC... and it happened. There's been strong internet presence begging for a new Darkstalkers and we at least got an HD re-release of 2 games with GGPO (that if sells well could convince Capcom to greenlight Darkstalkers 4). We have Steam putting out Greenlight which is helping fans get say in which games come to Steam. We have kickstarters and indiegogos which recently, as an example, helped Skullgirls fund 5 DLC characters (and showed the true cost of development for an additional character in such a game) which is now allowing fans to vote for 2 of the characters that will get made. Bottom line: If it helps developers, big or small, convince publishers (or in the case of crowdsourced funding, helps develoeprs) to bring their games to additional platforms, that's a good thing.

Oh, like gamefly sorta. Gotcha.
And I wasn't going to touch the fact that you're "one of those". ;)

Be cynical/pessimistic about this all you like, I'll choose to be an optimist for once. :P
And talking about <game> and Vita on social media? Maybe it will generate interest in Vita, so even if it's just promotion for their existing title, if it helps Vita, great!

I would guess sony moneyhatted take two for a bioshock. So there is still hope that they can't back out that easy.

It does suck letting the dream die but theres always E3 right guys....guys?

I dunno much about gamefly but LoveFilm let's me rent Blu-Ray/DVD Movies and watch stuff online etc. (owned by Amazon now).

Initially I used to save a lot of money played just about every mediocre shooter and action game released for the 360, but it's hard to rent portable games and send them back.

The Vita is such a beautiful machine, I've never been so happy with a purchase in a long time... Well maybe when I got my first smartphone, but that was because of the AMOLED screen. I can't exactly blame developers for not making games for it, but the ones that do and put crappy ports on it annoy me.

Holy shit Guacamelee is actually pretty fun. It's my second metroidvania game. I hated outland though, and I only bought this game because in the launch trailer near the end had the Ontario logo. The province in Canada where this studio is located.

This has bothered me. I have got my Vita with a Norwegian account, but I can't find the Youtube app anywhere in the store. Searched the entire store and looked through everything in the apps section.

Also wonder if anyone has a "super sensitive" touch screen. If my finger is very close to the screen it still registers. It's only like a mm from the screen, but I don't feel my finger touching it at all yet the Vita responds when I remove my finger. Happens all the time when typing lightly. I can clearly see it if I want to and I haven't noticed anything like this on other capasitive touch screens.

It's a capacitive screen. You don't have to be physically touching to activate any of these things. However, it shouldn't be causing a problem.

so I had some time to think since reading about the firmware update and the wording has me thinking that folders will count as icons, so people at the limit that really could use folders might not be able to unless they delete some icons o.O:

we will find out soon enough if that is the case, but i imagine some people will be unhappy if folders count as icons so using them decreases the limit.

I also didn't see anyone post this weeks vita deals so...
note: as usual I will be posting all ps1/psp games with a price drop/sale I do not bother checking to see if it's compatible with the vita because I am lazy :P (plus people who see they are on sale and then figure out they aren't compatible sometimes complain and get them compatible :P)

I have a question if someone can help me. On PSN some of the PSP demos say they're Vita compatible. How do I get them on the Vita? I can't figure it out.

Jeanne D'Arc price drop is awesome, everyone should play Jeanne D'arc.

.

My favourite PSP game and the only UMD I still own.

I may double dip for a digital copy on my vita (though I probably won't be touching it).

May as well wait for another sale since I already went through the game several times already.

Oh man I love how they indicate what cart you have in your Vita. It's a little icon in the upper right next to the clock with an image of the cart. Let me snag a shot.

I was enjoying Jeanne D'Arc, then i lost a battle due to a turn limit while I trying to chase down the enemy... I never touched it again... I hate arbitrary turn limits in srpgs so much -_-

I wonder if you can turn it off... I don't need a notification to tell me I have persona 4 in my vita o.o;

You figure it'd be easier to just pop out the game cartridge and check?

I just remember i have persona 4 in my vita >.>;
and if i switch it to mortal kombat i can remember that

of course I am someone who can remember what is in all of my consoles at all times
slim ps3 : white knight chronicles
fat ps3: white knight chronicles 2
360: skylanders
wii: smash brothers brawl
3ds: pokemon rumble
vita: persona 4

either way i will just ignore the new icon, and it is a nice plus for people who can't remember what they put in their system
