PSVita firmware update 2.10 to add folders, and in browser video streaming

They really need to fix this problem, FFS. I've ran into the "Blue Light of Death" at least five times over the past year. I dunno what causes it but whatever it is needs to be stamped out or Sony needs to put that method of getting the system to respond to work. Because waiting for the battery to die otherwise isn't good for it.

Transparent wallpapers still have that pixelated borders issue. No ETA for a fix or did no one talk about it?

I appreciate folders. But I don't understand how it took a year to basically do a simple change in the UI. The fact that it's just a bubble that you stick other bubbles into goes to show how simple the change was. It's like no effort whatsoever.

Oh well, I am still glad I guess.

Create folders to more easily manage your favorite application icons on the home screen, with up to 10 icons in each folder and a maximum of 100 on the home screen (including icons inside the folders).

You can also save the layout of your home screen icons in the memory card.

Add multiple contacts for group messaging!

New “Mute Automatically” option will mute your PS Vita speakers when your headset is unplugged and pause your music when using the music app.

These make me very happy! Especially the save layout part.

Condensing menus from 8 to 1? Thanks Obama Sony.

It's a fucking joke how long it took, especially how simple of an execution is, bubble menu within bubble menu

My guess is that it was low-priority and they try to only do firmware when necessary to block piracy or when they can do some backdoor add-ons as well (PSone emulator improvements, etc).

The other updates they done in the last year were most important to me (PSone emulation, rear-touch on the browser, better use of the friends list and network status, etc).

If they would just throw in auto-sort/categories like the PS3 has (PS3/PSOne/Minis/etc) the screwy card-swapping would be so much less frustrating. Folders is an appreciated step closer. I don't understand why these things have to be reinvented every damn time.

A lot of people detest the XMB for some reason, so Vita was kind a "from the ground up" affair.

The only weird thing from this update is that the peel back on the welcome screen stutters now in the peeling animation. VERY weird and seems a little amateur.

Now I know what that little icon next to the time is

Now you know if you have a cart inside and which one, nice touch

...what? What did you want them to do?

PS Store still down.

So I made my folders nice and neat. It's almost as elegant as iOS but not quite.

But damn, I wanted to play Guac before bed!

Ugh. Finally got updated. I just learned how to update the firmware in recovery mode while connected to a PC. Guacamelee, here I come! Have a couple hamburgers on me, DrinkBox :p

Never had that blue light power problem but I did have a scary problem where no buttons on my VITA would respond after turning on, nothing but touch screen. This was both in game and system menu. Turning VITA on and off fixed it but was very weird never inexperienced anything like that on any console or handheld before.

why you playing cod blops

I ask myself that everytime I boot it up.

Grave: If you get the platinum I hope you post tips about how to 3-star the campaign AND time-trials. Survival seems easy (even if it cheats with the damage rate and aim-bot railgun enemies) easy to 3-star. But those two are pure bullshit.

Switched from my 32gb to 8gb and back to the 32gb. Only two things moved on my 32gb home screens (Gravity Rush and Wipeout, which I have retail copies of but have the PS+ digitial versions on my 32gb). Not perfect but a huge upgrade

Will do

Gonna be awhile, I'm trucking through PS3 and Vita content off & on every other week

Right now have Bioshock Infinite play-through on PS3, I switch consoles every Sunday/Monday then truck through that week
Crazy shit I tells ya', almost like work for me!

Anyone else really enjoying organizing all this stuff? Keep posting your screenshots. The PSV Games A-P stuff is pretty clever.
