Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Got around to playing 3rd Birthday finally. It's actually better than I thought. Gameplay ir pretty decent, and from the looks of things Better than the first two, well at least for now. So glad I held off playing on PSP, because putting the camera on the second stick seems like it's a godsend. Graphically it's also really good for a PSP game. Arguably the best I've played.

But why is Aya such a simpering and whiny mess?

I think when it gets into double digits there's probably some mental shift in acceptable pricing. Er.. maybe.

Pretty much, if you're used to paying $8 for lunch regularly that amount just doesn't seem significant. At a certain amount over that you're going to evaluate what you're buying and it's no longer impulse. Value of money is different to everyone.

(Tells you what physical card you have in your Vita)

I need a stylus, my handwriting is not that bad ...

Also, it's pretty neat how I snapped that photo with my Vita, edited it on the same hardware, and then posted it onto Twitter. The beauty of modern handheld hardware everyone.

Thanks Takao. That icon's not on my Vita though. Is that bad?

I don't see the difference between a game "worth $8" and a game "worth $12" but maybe that's just me, lol

So $12 is about £8-9 which in effect is the price of maybe going to the cinema or 3 pints of beer? Yeah I see no problem in spending that amount on a video game that will offer longer entertainment than both those things.

$12.01 ???

edit: Top of page.. buy Table Mini Golf..

Already pre-ordered and got the additional course. Not tried it out yet, but I enjoy messing about with the quirky AR games that Sony offer, enjoyed PulzAR as well.

Well yeah pretty much. I'd rather spend any amount of money on a game than either of those, lol

Not only this, but I bought Red Faction Armageddon off steam for $1 last night and will purchase Metro 2033 tonight for $2.

Basically, by me waiting, it gives me the ability to get more enjoyment out of my money.

I will give folders credit for something. It allowed me to finally hide those trash apps/features that come with the system that I've never used. Goodbye near, maps, email, music, videos, welcome park and remote play!

Sorry reading your post made me think of this, I know the Vita being embraced by the indie scene is great, I purchased Guacamelee as soon as the NA store allowed, but is anyone else discouraged by the slow trickle of first/third party games.

I know this is probably my own personal perception, but I am getting worried Sony is pushing to the indie developer alone and ignoring third/first party support for the vita because of mediocre sales/attach rate. Who knows what the future holds, I am personally praying for some sort of Fox engine incarnation from Kojima, sorry had to get that out...

I count 10 apps that I'm getting rid of. Perfect folder size. Will lable 'useless crap'

No, my games are mostly digital. I thought that icon was a memory card indicator. So it's actually telling you what game you have in?

Yea. Just a little icon to tell you what game is in. Useful because before you had to pop the game out to see.

You didn't bother with the free trophies?!?!

and I just don't get why people are calling remote play useless, I guess i'm in the minority of people that use it quite often.

the difference is about a beer. hah!

sorry this is how i justify lots of purchases now in general... oh 3 beers? thats fine... also the price of going to the movies is another benchmark... ( i just used that one to learn magic the gathering with people at work)

The game cart icon in the status bar is almost too small.

I don't know if I'd rather that they had created a second partial bubble in one of the corners like they do with the notification bubble that showed a larger version of the cart icon and if you click on it would take you directly to the live area for the inserted game.

for me it is to small.
I put a game in to check it out and if i didnt know what I put in I dont think id have known what the game was.

Would rather a bubble glow or some sorta effect

Which games are you using it for? I tried only Tokyo Jungle but it was too blurry and my eyes hurt after a little while :/

Have played Pixel Junk Shooter/Eden, Tokyo Jungle, God of War HD, ICO and also use for Singstar parties, the playlist creation is great for people just to pick up the Vita and get in line for their song they want to sing. Also used for PlayTV and watching previous shows recorded on the PS3 in the bedroom when I can't be bothered staying up.

Not yet tried it with Sly Cooper or the cross controller pack for LBP2

Updating to 2.10 right now, but he internet is being super slow and It's gonna take about 20 minutes. Anyone know if it's safe to switch the vita to standby mode while updating?? I know you're not supposed to turn the system off while updating, but I'm a bit paranoid about leaving the screen on a single image for too long after the burn in thread surfaced.

I tried but it was all gimmick crap that I'm not good at so I didn't bother.

I gave remote play a few tries from within my own house and it was too laggy to actually play anything. The XMB was unbelievably slow. Besides I don't really have any use for remote play, I'm never away from my PS3 for an extended period of time where I could actually use it for more than 20 minutes.

The value of booze is not the time it takes to drink them or the drinks them selves. Your paying for the mystery of what might happen afterwards.

On an actually related note. Im looking forward to setting up the new update. Folders are so very needed. In browser video support is very nice for those who use the browsers. Just needs to allow the browser to use portrait orientation now. Also VLR on PS+ yay.

I'm sure the large majority of you haven't had the privilege or tasting a Stone's Ruination IPA. It's anywhere from $65-$80 for a case.

The taste is so orgasmic, it's hard to compare it to video games.

That being said, you can believe I ration off a case of it to last about 2 weeks.

We should start a 'guess the cart's name' game with the Vita's new feature.

The icon is very small (and it bothers me that I get so annoyed by that icon). I had first assumed it was an icon for the memory card since this update apparently makes switching memory cards a bit more intuitive. I eventually put the screen up to my nose and said "That's the MLB 13 cart icon!"

Mmmm you just made my mouth water...

Updating to new fw... Sadly im too busy at work today to test it out yet

edit: how do i make folders?? i quickly tried dragging the bubbles ontop of eachother. that didnt work. is it in the "edit display" options menu?

So my vita downloaded the 2.10 update via ps plus, this morning while plugged in, I went to update, took a dump during the progress screen, and now it won't turn on. Black screen, blue ps button lit.

Any suggestions?

I did wash my hands afterwards

Hope that is not the case. Love some of the indie games but that was the farthest thing from my mind at Vita launch. Hope Turismo or a wrpg comes along one day.

My random crappy apps folder is called Freeware, fyi.

The singstar stuff seems awesome, didn't think of that. Too bad my friends are all abroad and chances of playing Singstar are very slim right now :(
ICO on Vita seems like a great idea too, will have to pick the HD remake someday.
I will make sure to try PJ Sidescroller with Remote Play now that you mentioned PJ games, sidescroller is my favourite and it should play awesome on handheld! Cheers.

Had three day old Heady Topper months back so I am covered. Stone is ace though.
