Mark Wahlberg is a bad ass

At 16, Wahlberg approached a middle-aged Vietnamese man on the street and, using a large wooden stick, knocked him unconscious (while calling him "Vietnam fucking shit"). He also attacked another Vietnamese man, leaving him permanently blind in one eye.

Badass indeed.

With a dash of civil rights violations.

Mark Wahlberg is the single most overrated Hollywood actor. He sucks at acting and his dbag persona just doesn't jive with me.

And he has a history of being a racist coward.

Mark Wahlberg on his past crimes (from 2006, though):

http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/Oscars2007/story?id=2509542&page=1#.UWW7qsqOXRZ

He harassed a group of African American school kids with racist epithets, and when he was 16, again using racist language, he attacked a middle-aged Vietnamese man and left the man blind in one eye. Wahlberg was arrested for attempted murder, plead guilty to assault, and spent 45 days in jail.

And though the right thing to do would be to try to find the man and make amends, Wahlberg says, he admits he hasn't done so -- but says he's no longer burdened by guilt.

"I did a lot of things that I regretted and I certainly paid for my mistakes," Wahlberg says. "You have to go and ask for forgiveness and it wasn't until I really started doing good and doing right, by other people as well as myself, that I really started to feel that guilt go away. So I don't have a problem going to sleep at night. I feel good when I wake up in the morning."

Oh look, his charity work includes previously being on Jerry Sandusky's Second Mile.

I don't care about celebrities but for the longest time I've just fucking been revolted by this guy. Just a complete and utter douchebag glorified by the media and idiots who think he's a great actor.

I'm pretty sure I knew at 16 not to beat a random person unconscious for their race, or for any reason at all.

Wasn't random, he target his victim due to ethnicity.

I was going to post this:
"Hey you, person right there, I am going to rob you now."

"Hey, aren't you brothers with that News Kids on the Blocks guy? Can you sing that Step by Step song, my daughter loves that!"

"Awww shit. Well you know what? Fuck it. Fuck this. And fuck you. I oughtta 'step by step' when I'm tapdancing on your asshole. I'm fuckin outta here."

"Alright there Marky Mark, keep Hangin Tough. My 7 year old is gonna be so excited that I met you."

but I think instead I'll post this:

We can party on the positive side and pump positive vibes so come along for the ride!

Were you never 16?

At 16 I did things like putting wooden reindeer in people's yards on top of each other to make it appear they were engaging in coitus.

I didn't throw rocks at people of other ethnicity or blind a Vietnamese man for being Vietnamese.

Wahlberg's bad boy douchebag Marky Mark image translated well to attracting a very young audience which is now in their 20s and 30s. It's a shame so few people realize what an incredible piece of shit he seems to be based on his history.

I mean, theoretically, him acting like a little racist psycho at 16 could have no bearing on his current views. But come on, really?

Why is this argument consistently made?

Oh like you didn't blind some guy in his eye at 16, come on.

Plenty of us were decent people at 16.

Makes me wonder about the people who come to their defense.

We've all been there, beating a innocent guy until be was blind and then totally not caring about it later in life. That's not a horrible psychopathic thing, right?

While I don't criticize someone for not feeling ready or capable to perform in a film like Brokeback Mountain, his comments about why he didn't do the movie have always irritated me.

http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2007/02/28/brokeback_mountain_script_creeped_out_ma

"I met with Ang Lee on that movie, I read 15 pages of the script and got a little creeped out. It was very graphic, descriptive - the spitting on the hand, getting ready to do the thing. I told Ang Lee, 'I like you, you're a talented guy, if you want to talk about it more...' Thankfully, he didn't."

The mere notion of this asshole being in that movie is unsettling. And who advised him to not take the role? His Catholic priest.

http://www.irishcentral.com/story/e...-told-him-no-brokeback-mountain-92340764.html

"The 38-year-old reformed bad boy relies on his closest confidante and longtime religious mentor, the Rev. James Flavin, to help him pick and choose his parts. 'Mark is a practicing Catholic, and he never makes a final decision on a starring role until Father Flavin gives his OK,' an insider revealed to The Enquirer.

'Mark says he owes his career to Father Flavin. 'Father Flavin pushes Mark to honor his religious roots,' said the source. 'Even though Mark was offered one of the leads in Brokeback Mountain, he passed because of the gay subject matter, which clashes with Catholic doctrine.'

It all makes sense. The racist criminal asshole turned to religion and became a better person for it. ;)

I think him saying that he drives a Maybach on Top Gear tells us all more than enough about him being a bad ass.
