Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Ugh... soul sacrifice demo comes at a very bad time for me. I've already had second thoughts about purchasing it.

I finished one playthrough of guacamelee but can't go for platinum, I got to set my priorities right and got to start studying for finals so I'll do the next best thing and let me brother play the demo and get my impressions from him.

Only bad side is, every time I have ever given my brother a game to play he usually stops in the first few hours if it isin't interesting enough.

Dang you really got her all set up. I wish I had relatives like you :P Of course you preloaded Gurumin and NLKS though :P Surprised that you're a fan of NLKS considering it's framerate problems, it is one of my favorite games/vita games.
.

Yeah,NLKS is good..shame that the end for the IP tho(this was the 2nd chance for the IP and Vita owners failed it).

decided to get her all that stuff because most stores here don't sell Vita stuff anymore(same thing for 3DS,gaming handhelds are completely dead in this freaking country..it's sad),so if she want an extra pen or case we'll have to order it from the Amazon Uk or US and wait for a week or two for it to arrive so I got everything in one order less hassle for me.

Just bought Guacamelee. If I want to download it directly on my Vita, can I leave wifi on and lock the screen or do I need to the trick where I leave it on and it auto-locks itself?
I think there are power saving options that will cut wifi when you suspend the Vita, but if they're not on, it'll keep on downloading regardless of whether you suspend it or it auto-suspends.

Also, are the analog controls on the browser new? (left stick to scroll, right stick to zoom)
just put in sleep and the blue light will stay lit until it finishes downloading.

Guys, Im planning on buying a wi-fi Vita, no memory cards yet. If I dont have a memory card I cant download anything from PSN? The vita doensnt have any kind of internal memory storage? Thanks!!!

Indeed! You'll need a 4GB at minimum, or else it's a brick, but 4GB is really only good for all-physical buyers. If you're planning on going digital I'd say 16GB.
Also highly recommend getting a month of PSN+ for ~$6, you'll get a bunch of games for that month.

Thank you and VanWinkle for the quick reply. Any idea of how many GB space a full game takes on the memory storage? Something like Gravity Rush?

thanks to PS3 userbase,not Vita I guess.

I think the reason for UTS to always be on PS3/Vita top 10 is the huge Unintentional(?) misleading going on, people see "Trials" and think it's Trials Evolution.

Weren't you selling your Vita and leaving the scene? What happened?

I almost only buy physical on retail games, and I still have two 16GB and a 4GB card full :/

Blue light of death scared me!!!

Also DoA5+ demo is so huge I don't need to buy the full game. It let's you play the characters I like and has a full Arcade mode... Online sux, but it's included.

I find it so hard to choose which game to play.

Okay so this is driving me crazy.

Whenever I'm using Music Unlimited now with my Vita it will turn off after 10 minutes or so, going into sleep mode. This is a total pain in the ass as I mainly use it while commuting on the bus and dozing off a bit.

It wasn't doing this before it would just keep playing. This didn't happen until the patch updated.

So I have no idea if I messed something up in settings either on the Vita or through the app or if Music Unlimited is just completely useless now.

Has anybody else had this problem recently?

Well I thought it's better to just wait a couple of months till E3 to see what will happen for Vita and its future, and if there is no real third party support and no good retail announcements (like now) I'll have sell my Vita because there is no point for me to keep it if the current situation don't change.

Made a bid on a cheap PSO2... Can't believe myself. If I lose I won't rebid, but now I'm really considering asking wifey to bring it from Japan. I have like 5 days left to decide.

Why am I spending more time buying games then actually playing them?

Truth is, I want NGS2+, but it has to be cheap. Not to play often.

... Can't wait for FFX-2.

Man if the Vita had all my fav classics this gen like Lost Planet and Demons's Souls I'd run out of money completely.

Something about the bubbles stops me from just renting games. @#£%

Ok I finally got my accessories for the sweet little lady. I wanted to protect her before getting serious.

And I'm officially joining you under the PSN ID: Lordji (card is being generated by psnprofiles.com, I mean I guess, it's been running for the past half hour).

Currently downloading the LBP offered in the pack. Then I'll download Virtue and Guacamelee! Can't wait!

yay SS demo, I can finally see if i enjoy it or if it's something that just sounds like a lot of fun on paper but I don't like

I can see people hating it and people loving it even among the fans of Monster Hunter because while it's still one of the Monster Hunting games it's not like Ragnarok Odyssey (as in a bland boring clone of a freaking bland boring series)and is faster and the pacing is better with little grinding so not the same core structure and framework of MonHun.

for me I liked the Japanese demo, the combat was fun and the summoning idea remind me of other game, but oh well still that was just a demo and the full game might have problems.

is there any TV ads for it yet? I'm curious to see if SCEA will market it as a MonHun game (a will be a huge mistake to do so in the west) or just as a dark fantasy game.

Well thought I would give an update, i went to Gamestop to pick up DOA5, but I had brought my daughter with me and I ended up with LittleBigPlanet instead. So now ill have to download all the cross compatible stuff and collect all the costume pieces for her.

I can understand why some might be disappointed I guess, but personally I dont have much to complain about my Vita is doing a nice job of filling in for my broke PS3 until the PS4 is released, and much of what I would want on PS3 is coming to Vita anyway.

Stuff like Hotline, Terraria, Binding of Issac, Ss, Tareaway, Killzone, Batman, and FFX give me plenty to look forward to. I may be wrong, but I also think that with the way Sony is pushing the Vita>PS4 features so far that maybe they will try a relaunch, or maybe a Ps4/Vita bundle.

I think alot of indies are doing much more interesting things than allot of the "AAA" devs but im still hoping for some big RPGs. I am hoping that Injustice, and Starbound will come to Vita woulf be great.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I would still like to see more AAA games obviously, but I'm still very happy with the outlook.

If that happen,if Sony don't even try with their own big games on Vita, then I guess Sony is telling us clearly that Vita is not a platform for retail games or big third party publishers anymore and I hope this is not the case.

A game's a game. I'm much more happy to get quality titles like Guacamelee!, Totori and Binding of Isaac than placing an arbitrary 'big budget' qualifier and receiving junk like Call of Duty D, Assassin's Creed L in return. If the Vita only gets 6 or 7 high budget releases per year, I'm fine as long as they're like DOA5, Killzone (hopefully) and Soul Sacrifice.

I fail to see how SS compares to MonHan.

My impression of SS was God Eater trying to look like Dark Souls.

Combat is by no mean, anything like MonHan, which has slow and deliberate gameplay.

SS looks cool and stuff, but at the end of the day the combat did nothing for me. This is a system that has NGS+ on it.

For more RPG like grinding etc, it's probably good, but so was Bounty Hounds and that wasn't anything special.

For exploration... Nah, SS doesn't have the same approach as MonHan.

Soul Sacrifice is not a "big game" for SCEA, Tearaway and Killzone are.

The Injustice app on iOS is making me wish we had Injustice on Vita. :(

Although judging by MK, it'd look like arse.

Well keep in mind that boon stated a Vita port could be possible if Injustice does well on consoles, and kind of surprising but WB has Batman coming to the Vita aswell, so anything is possible.

Also since they have MK on Vita already its possible Injustice could look much better. DOA5+ looks pretty great from what I could tell in the demo.

Also has there been any indication that Lords of Shadow 2 was canned for the Vita? I remember it was announced, but we dont have much info on the console versions either.

well,UE3 might be hard on Vita it seems (both MK and Doctor Who look like shit)

then again Injustice is still not announced for PC,so maybe there is hope some months later?

but without Cassandra Cain (the best fighter in the Bat universe)Injustice is so pointless anyway and I don't want it(it's like having a SF without Ken/Ryu or DOA without Kasumi or something like that)
