They're based on the official ones, just with reworded questions. The real one is a little less obvious, yes, but most psychological tests charitably assume the responders will answer honestly. Though we have our little tricks for catching fibbers too.
Who's "we"?

ENFP

The Champion Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in accomplishing their aims, and informative and expressive when relating with others. For Champions, nothing occurs which does not have some deep ethical significance, and this, coupled with their uncanny sense of the motivations of others, gives them a talent for seeing life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil. This type is found in only about 3 percent of the general population, but they have great influence because of their extraordinary impact on others. Champions are inclined to go everywhere and look into everything that has to do with the advance of good and the retreat of evil in the world. They can't bear to miss out on what is going on around them; they must experience, first hand, all the significant social events that affect our lives. And then they are eager to relate the stories they've uncovered, hoping to disclose the "truth" of people and issues, and to advocate causes. This strong drive to unveil current events can make them tireless in conversing with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out.

Champions consider intense emotional experiences as being vital to a full life, although they can never quite shake the feeling that a part of themselves is split off, uninvolved in the experience. Thus, while they strive for emotional congruency, they often see themselves in some danger of losing touch with their real feelings, which Champions possess in a wide range and variety. In the same vein, Champions strive toward a kind of spontaneous personal authenticity, and this intention always to "be themselves" is usually communicated nonverbally to others, who find it quite attractive. All too often, however, Champions fall short in their efforts to be authentic, and they tend to heap coals of fire on themselves, berating themselves for the slightest self-conscious role-playing.

That's me alright

I'm kinda surprised. I remember taking this test several years ago and I'm pretty sure I got fairly different results.

A better question is how much validity, if any, does the Myers-Briggs possess? It's always struck me as a bit too simple and pop psychology to put much faith in, but it sure is enjoyable to read those flattering type descriptions and go, "Yep. Yep. That's me. That too. Yep." I wonder if it's partially a case of the "fortune cookie" effect (not sure of the real name), where a lot of the descriptions are so vague and positive-sounding that we tend to ascribe those qualities to ourselves regardless of actual reality. Then again, the ones I get do seem to fit pretty well, even when my BS filter's up.

Pretty much what some other people here have already said. The versions on the Internet tend to be extremely simplified/shortened. Official versions of this test are much more detailed, both in terms of questions and answers.

I'll take this again later, but the last time I took it over the summer, I got INFP. Basically means I'm a dirty hippie.

Does anyone have a breakdown of the 16 types and which are most common? I always find these tests funny cause the one (can't remember the name) where there's only 4 groups, 80% or so of people end up being Guardians.

I always score as an INTJ.

With that being said, I don't believe that Myers-Briggs is scientific in the slightest, and it's debatable whether knowing your type tells you anything important.

That's probably true, but if I had to guess your type before taking it, I would've definitely pegged you as an INTJ. Gotta count for something.

I don't know if these kinds of tests really work for me....
I change my personality completely depending on who I'm dealing with, what situation I'm in, etc. "Psychological researchers" as described above ^^ probably see me as a fibber on these tests :lol.

The test is incredibly reliable and valid for what it's measuring. That said, what it's measuring isn't really all that useful, especially outside the research field. I've never used the M-B, but if I did I would probably use it in conjunction with other tests, probably serving a purpose like the Big Five test. Though I use the Big Five over this every time, I do know other folks that swear by the M-B.

Well now I just feel special.

It's weird...INFJ is supposedly the least common result, but on every msg board I've been to, there's always an abundance of them. Maybe INFJ people just tend to gravitate to boards online?

I'll be honest. This is one of the first threads I saw after waking up from a cold medicine bender.

For the life of me, Myers-Briggs registered as Voight-Kampff, and I thought "Shit, he knows!"

I got ENFJ and iirc my percentages or whatever for each direction were something like 25 12 12 11..

Pretty happy with that, I guess I'm fairly well rounded.

ENTP

ENTP (Extroverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving) is one of the sixteen personality types[1] from personality type systems based on C.G. Jung, of which the best-known are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI),[2] Keirsey Temperament Sorter and Socionics.

Referring to Keirsey, ENTPs belong to the temperament of the Rational and are called Inventors.

In Socionics ENTps belong to the club of the Researchers, the alpha Quadra and are named "Seeker" or Don Quixote. Another notation for ENTp is ILE (which is an acronym for Intuitive-Logical Extratim, referring to the cognitive functions).
At their best people with ENTP preferences[3] constantly scan the environment for opportunities and possibilities. They see patterns and connections not obvious to others and at times seem to be able to see into the future. They are adept at generating conceptual possibilities and then analysing them strategically. ENTPs are good at understanding how systems work and are enterprising and resourceful in maneuvering within them to achieve their ends.

ENTPs are enthusiastic innovators. Their world is full of possibilities, interesting concepts and exciting challenges. They are stimulated by difficulties, quickly devising creative responses and plunging into activity, trusting their ability to improvise. They use their Intuition primarily externally and enjoy exercising ingenuity in the world. ENTPs are likely to be:

* Creative, imaginative and clever
* Theoretical, conceptual and curious

ENTPs use their Thinking function[4] primarily internally to analyse situations and their own ideas and to plan. They admire competence, intelligence, precision and efficiency. ENTPs are usually:

* Analytical, logical, rational and objective
* Assertive and questioning

ENTPs are enterprising, resourceful, active and energetic. They respond to challenging problems by creating complex and global solutions. They are usually adept at "reading" other people, seeing how to motivate them and assuming leadership in times of chaos. They can do almost anything that captures their interest.

Summary: quick, ingenious, good at many things. Stimulating company, alert and outspoken. May argue for fun on either side of a question. Resourceful in solving new and challenging problems, but may neglect routine assignments. Apt to turn to one new interest after another. Skillful in finding logical reasons for what they want.

We are using this (along with a few other tests) in a managerial assesment class I'm taking now.

Oh yeah, this one too :lol
Prick- ENTP
People love to hate you, because you love to argue. The strange thing is you probably took that as a compliment. Why, I bet you've already got a witty comeback all lined up ready to throw right back at me.

What you don't realise is that your inane obsession with debating pisses everyone off. Whatever happened to us all trying to get alone? I mean, you're so annoying people disagree with you for the damn sake of it! NOBODY cares about your abundant opinions. Trust me.

Believe it or not, but there's more to life than your expansive knowledge and sharp repertoire. When was the last time you showered? Brushed your teeth?

While you're up in Nevernever land, getting excited over future possibilities and your crazy theories, WE have to put up with your awful stench. I can smell you from here.

Your personality is ideal for that of a future lawyer and because everyone already hates you, you have nothing to lose.
Pretty spot on.

I typically score ISFP (Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving) on these kind of tests.

And that's what I got this time:

33% - moderately expressed introvert
5% - slightly expressed sensing personality
50% - moderately expressed feeling personality
75% - very expressed perceiving personality

Rules? Hah! Who needs rules? They merely prevent you from doing your own thing, right? Down with the MAN!
Wow. I wasn't aware that you had access to OKCupid! in prison. And if you're not behind bars, all signs say you're well on your way there in the near future.

You love taking risks. You love the adrenaline rush of extreme sports. You love taking action. Generally, anything that's idiotic, you're in. Wanna light yourself on fire and dive from a 500 metre high cliff into shark-infested waters? I'll write your name down.

However, you do need a lot of alone time because that's when you can finally sort things out in your mind most clearly.

If it wasn't for your analytical and logical skills, I'd vouch that you didn't have a brain at all. The fact that you do have a brain merely means that the likelihood of you being a criminal has just gone up.

Thankfully, you're most probably a good athlete, which will help when running away from the police. If not, prison doesn't seem too far away from you at all.

Just please... stay far away from me.

This OkCupid test is way off (I'm a big rule follower and not much of a risk taker). I used to get INTP consistently in college.

It doesn't surprise me that many people here are Introverts. Introverts thrive on the Internet, where Extroverts often feel uncomfortable.

A goddamned national treasure

hey also tend to be procrastinators, both about meeting hard deadlines and about performing any small, uninteresting tasks that they've been assigned. ENFPs are at their most useful when working in a group w ith a J or two to take up the slack.

Anybody else feel completely lathed bare by this thing?

ENFP here

in the management consulting/private equity world, everyone uses these profiles to interact in teams

it is to the point that before anyone agrees to work on any project they must know the MB profiles of their team members before even considering it ;-)

INFP here.

Healers have a profound sense of idealism derived from a strong personal morality, and they conceive of the world as an ethical, honorable place. Indeed, to understand Healers, we must understand their idealism as almost boundless and selfless, inspiring them to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something they believe in.

The Healer is the Prince or Princess of fairytale, the King's Champion or Defender of the Faith, like Sir Galahad or Joan of Arc. Healers are found in only 1 percent of the general population, although, at times, their idealism leaves them feeling even more isolated from the rest of humanity.

I'm wondering what it is implying by extraordinary sacrifices... There's a limit to my giving! :)

guess i join the INTJ club. where do i get the membeship card?

Mine has always been a heavily skewed ISFJ, took it once in college, and again at work. From my experience it is mostly used as a tool for team building purposes, how well you work with others and what kind of methods are more effective depending on the way you score. I wouldn't say it's completely accurate, but I think the test do at least make some good suggestions on how to associate with people.

ISTJ (Guardian) here. Anyone else wonder if your MBTI could be used to predict political affiliation? ISTJs are supposed to be traditional, so I'd imagine they'd have conservative/republican leanings.

I recently took the M-B test for work - my manager had vague notions that her workers might understand each other better afterwards - and I tested as usual: the ENFP poster child. I think I maxed out the E and the F. Yeah.

Edit: I dug up my results:

E: 30/30
N: 23/30
F: 26/30
P: 30/30

Like I said, poster child.

Apparently I have the same score as Oprah and Martin Luther King, this test is kinda interesting. I've taken it before, and recieved the same score of ENFJ, seems to be pretty accurate.
