Why is Florence + The Machine so good?

YES STAN FOR THE QUEEN OF MUSIC

She sounds like a goat.

I was about to go in.

Didn't she do like blackface or something in one of her videos? I'm not quite sure, but I heard something about that.

That Sweet Nothing cover from Florence is pretty catchy as well, and I normally don't like that pop club music stuff.

They aren't. Florence is entirely too overproduced.

My Boy Builds Coffins is great though, more of that Florence.

They're like Rilo Kiley but WAAAY worse.

I loved Lungs when it came out, but I haven't found Florence's other output as interesting musically or lyrically. Her song in The Great Gatsby trailer is really mediocre, and it's fairly disappointing to see the decline of an artist that I found rather promising.

Haven't heard anything but Ceremonials, but I think that's a really solid album. All This And Heaven Too seems to be a very underplayed song.

What is played on the radio doesn't matter to me. It's not a gauge of what's most deserving, it's what's most accessible for the plebes.

Awful. No resonance, little forward placement with a throaty quality, almost no squillo, slightly under the pitch, with a lot of tension in her voice and a ridiculous tremolo.

Her upper register is vile. It's like she is can't find the key to her vocal chords.

also there's this punk song that i hear sometimes that's pretty good and that one calvin harris song is OK in a maximalist mash-a-keyboard kind of way so she's okay in my book.

Because of their good lyrics, good instrumentation and out of this world vocalist.
I think Ceremonials is better than Lungs.
