I'm a big daft punk fan and I don't see why it's offensive to admit the fact they make really mainstream music

I don't think anyone is taking issue with anyone referring to them as mainstream. It's the usage of the term "entry level", which sounds so unbelievably like the head-up-your-own-ass music elitism nonsense that keeps me away from most music threads at GAF.

They're so mainstream there biggest selling proper album got to 44 in the U.S charts. Can they really be mainstream if most of their sales sucked balls?

Also, I did an art.

What if there's no single tomorrow, guys?

The only source for the Monday date is that tweet from that french radio. Being from France, I can tell you that even though is a pretty big radio, I would never trust them for anything. So I'm prepared to be disappointed..

Yup, Fun Radio is not the radio I imagine for a premiere, and nobody else relayed that info. Probably a CM relaying a stupid rumor on twitter.

Random Access Memories |OT| Bieber's AAtW shits all over DP's, Face to Face sucks and what is that Usher guy doing in my Daft Punk?

If you don't like music elitism then I'd stay as far away from the sewage dump that is GAF-Hop

I made a point in that thread that I liked Rick Ross and they still quote in me every random thread I'm in with some Rick Ross is fat joke, like I'm married to the guy

I group music into two groups: "I like it." and "I don't like it"

All this entry level, boss level, advanced master class, etc. talk is just noise.

Edited to clarify before I start getting questioned on what I mean by good and bad.

:/

There's plenty of people that likes Rick Ross' music too. And yeah, GAF-Hop, including myself sometimes can be harsh at times, but at the end of the day it's all fun and games.

But whatever, that's a whole other matter.

Hopefully we get something on Monday.

I remember when Homework came out; the hype was incredible and it was incredibly trendy to own the album, I remember a popular reviewer on tv opening his review of the album by saying 'You can throw away your bootleg tape and go buy the album right now, its a modern classic; just remember this review when you will pretend to be into electronic music to impress your friends because i know most of you wont even bother to listen to the album! Its just cool to own this album right now!'

I remember when DP showed up to the station to do an interview, and they didnt even have the robot mask, they had those really cheesy transparent masks that blurred their faces.

I remember an interview with those masks too!

Yay, I'm not entry-level!

edit: Also I like the cheap look of the video. Feels like an early 80s video.

What's so great about that clip is that the one minute of the song is just so freaking good that you start the clip, and before you know it it's over. I really do need this music all up inside of me, like, now!

And the full song is 6 minutes long :)

Random Daft Punk fun fact while we wait! Do you remember the music videos for the singles from Homework? The first one (Da Funk) had that dog. The second one was androids dancing (Around the World). Then there was firemen (Burnin) and the tomatoes (Revolution 909)

Dog
Androids
Firemen
Tomatoes

DAFT

The DVD was actually called D.A.F.T.: A Story About Dogs, Androids, Firemen and Tomatoes. I think it's a neat touch and I don't know if it's widely known, since everyone was surprised with the Veridis Quo thing.

Just heard the full song for Get Lucky, as good as I expected from the clips. Couldn't be more excited for this album.
