Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Anyone going to get Dragon Fantasy Book I for Vita fellow GAFfers?

Just saw the Blog post about it, seems interesting since I've never heard of it.

honestly, probably not. between Guacamelee and my backlog ( mainly crowning HSG) there is enough to last me till Soul Sacrifice. i'm expecting there to be a sale before i have enough time to buy it.

it IS nice to see the upgraded tweaks. trophies too.

The sole reason I didn't join the 32 race. Waiting for inevitable 64gb one :p
Waiting it out with 16gb+4gb model.

Same reason why I didn't jump to the 32gb. And I also would be in the 16+4 club but when I bought mine on launch day the store let us trade the 4gb back for store cost off an 8gb. They did offer the 16gb but I had already ordered one from Planet something something (the place that shut down late last year).

Yes, a demo is coming this Wednesday.

Awesome, thanks.

Will the digital versions of PS2 games being released (most recently Fatal Frame) on PSN ever become playable on the Vita? Maybe after a firmware revision or something? This would immedietly expand the library of games playable on the Vita.

I just feel like the PSOne library being playable on the PSP, makes them less of a great feature. While I know there are many good PSOne games, it just sort of feels like - been there done that.

They keep saying it won't buy who knows in the future.

As for recent future though, not happening.

We have no way of knowing for certain, but it seems unlikely that the Vita has the power to emulate a PS2 when a PS3 seems barely capable of doing it. It would require some truly astounding software wizardry from Sony's emulation team.

Did anything ever become of the Capcom Arcade Cabinet for Vita?
I noticed all the older games and the base hub download itself were all rated for Vita and 3DS.

Really? That's pretty disappointing. Could it work thru remote play? Actually what currently is playable with the remote play feature of the Vita? I know you can watch videos that you have saved on your PS3 HDD, but in terms of games, what's available?

On a hacked ps3 you can play anything through remote play on vita.

I might do an OT for Dragon Fantasy. Should I title it Dragon Fantasy |OT| first "JRPG" to grace PSN? Any ideas?

It could work through remote play I would think but that may end up being a PS4-Vita thing.

According to EDGE, the developer of Castle of Illusion is set to close soon after the game releases.

Looks like both Vita and Wii U might've been dropped due to this, then. :/

EDIT: Also, no NHL 14 for Vita. Not that I was even expecting it, though. We definitely need more sport titles. :/

My indie blood levels are running low again, quick Sony, need a fix.

The longer the vita exists without alien hominid the more frustration builds up. It is a crime against handheld gamers not to have (another) portable version of alien hominid. Last one was GBA. (flash version playable in the link)

Re: NHL - even Madden is only confirmed for PS3 and 360 at the moment, it'll probably be announced for Wii U and Vita at the same time as next-gen.

Dragon Fantasy this week, Thomas Was Alone the next and Zombie Tycoon 2 to close the month. Then at least Hotline Miami and Velocity Ultra in May.

Probably eh? I want NHL on the go pretty badly. But I don't see why they'll bring it over to the Vita. You've seen how "well" EA has supported the Vita with the previous Madden and FIFA titles.

Outside of my Demon's Souls plat, this one was probably the most rewarding platinum for me because the few Death mode levels that were very difficult/luck involved made me feel great when I beat them. Also got platinum in Guacamelee this morning.

The most frustrating platinum ever.

Also happens to be my fastest platinum

Not too bad, thanks, but I hope they announce something extra before E3 too, maybe luftrauser. I wish Dyad and Fez would popup too. Maybe that is greedy but they're nice and affordable, not been pressured to buy too many retail games with the current drought, great to fill the freshness-void when the backlog gets a bit stale. I need to buy sly.

Okay so, I haven't played through them all, but here's a preliminary list of the best Vita games according to myself:

Best Exclusive - Wipeout 2048
runner-up - Gravity Rush

Best Port - Persona 4 Golden
runner-up - Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus

Best Non-Port/Exclusive - Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
runner-up - Guacamelee
notable mention(s) - Sound Shapes - Phantasy Star Online 2

Am I right?

EDIT: Probably going get quoted and be called out on not including Soul Sacrifice or Virtua Tennis 4... I don't find Soul Sacrifice to be anything special (I'll play more than the demo later).

Just started up Persona 4 Golden and have played it for one hour. !!! It's awesome but I'm not a super fan of JRPG battles so it's gonna be interesting how I fare on Normal.

ps+ blog (NA for tomorrows store update) just went up and some GTA games are going on sale first number is normal price, second number is sale price, third number is ps+ price
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (PSP; PS Vita Supported) $19.99 $13.99 $9.79
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP; PS Vita Supported) $19.99 $13.99 $9.79
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (PSP; PS Vita Supported) $19.99 $13.99 $9.79

Good list would switch Wipeout and Gravity Rush though. Unit 13 is pretty good also. Agree with you about Sigma It is a good port imo.

I'd put gravity rush above wipeout even though I have only played like 40 minutes of gravity rush.
I would have the runner up to best port be disgaea 3 not ninga gaiden. I'd likely stick mortal kombat in front of ninja gaiden, and if i had played the totori port that one very well might have been the runner up to persona 4 but i have not played that yet.

as for best non port non exclusive those look fine nothing sticks out in my head at this time that I would put up there over what you have.
