Green Man Gaming Thread: Save some green, man

I haven't received my cash back reward from my Bioshock Infinite order yet and I can't seem to login to the support page. Has anyone else received the cash back yet? I ordered with PayPal, so I assume they should credit that account.
I didn't receive my cash back either when I pre-ordered in February. I had to contact support and I got my cash back a few days later.

I didn't buy it and I don't regret it, if that makes any difference. Dirt 2 is probably the best of the four of them, I'd say. It's more dudebroish than the first, but overall it's a better package.

Greenmangaming sent me a new message basically telling me to go fuck myself over the 80$ they stole from me. Should I issue a chargeback? I mean sure they let me keep the Season Pass, Mafia 2, and BS1 keys, but they still walked away pretty good from the exchange holding onto the BSI and XCOM keys I paid for.

What did they say in a more complicated manner?

"Hi,

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have had with making a purchase on our site. I have investigated this matter and I can see that due to an error, the order did not fully complete although some keys may have been sent to you.

Sadly, we do not accept late payments and you will need to contact your bank to resolve this.

Please feel free to use the keys we have sent you as this was an error on our end and enjoy your free games.

Regards,
Nolan

I did it through paypal, so if push comes to shove I'll just do a charge back through them.

EDIT: Wow it seems paypal just popped it back into my /paypal/ account balance (like a WEEK late >.>) and didn't add it back into my /back/ account (which is where I charged it from), whoops. Never mind, sorry for the confusion.

as many have posted here i have not received my cash back either from the BI order, i sent a support ticket on friday and still have not heard from them, im gonna wait a few more days but if they dont get back to me i guess ill try to get a chargeback with paypal but i think paypal does not do chargebacks on digital purchases, no hurt on trying tho

Friday was a bank holiday and so was yesterday, it's no surprise you haven't heard from them.

They have four days worth of enquiries to catch up with.

I received a response. They said that they are working on it and it may take an 2 to 5 more days until it shows up in my account.

So Far Cry 3 is on sale for 20 Euro here (if you use the coupon). Is it worth playing? I've heard good things about the gameplay, but I am also looking for worthwhile storytelling, characters and whatnot.

From what I've gathered, the narrative aspect of Far Cry 3 is complete shit. Spoiled white kid goes on a mass-murdering spree to save his drunk college friends from hostage-taking inhabitants. Take that as you will, but I certainly wouldn't think FC3 has anything meaningful in terms of story or characters.

There's supposed to be more to it than that, I enjoyed it though, never got round to the open world stuff.

Then look elsewhere. The story is bland and the characters are dull.

Greenman have tropico 4 collectors addition for £7:50

Heard a little about it in the Sim City launch thread, worth a bite?

Tropico 4 at that price and with all the DLC is definitely worth it. At least you won't feel bad for spending that once you realize you don't really like the game.

Tropico has less hand-holding than SimCity, you will have to learn certain things and the overall pace of the game is slower. It's still a great title, but lacks that glimmering sheen that a triple-A polish would bring.

It's still a pretty easy game as far as I remember. It may seem to have less hand-holding because the objectives are slightly different. You are much as mining resources and building stuff like tourism and military as you are actually building the city.

But yeah, I would recommend grabbing it with all the DLC. It's like, each DLC feels pretty weak by itself, but them all make a nice package.

Edit: Hey, by the way, is there any way to buy just the DLC on GMG?

Despite being on the cover, Vaas is barely in the game.

Yup, and that particular thread is ridiculously anti-climatic.

The characters who gives you missions are actually fairly interesting, and they probably should be part of a much better story. Come to FC3 for the gameplay, though, because the narrative is barely a factor, and just isn't very good.

FC3 has fantastic gameplay, but everything they give you to do outside of hunting is the most boring stuff possible.

Love the game. I bought it twice.

Once on GMG and then they dragged their feet after I had asked James and another person at GNG about dlc, and then again on Steam to get dlc on time.

I had $3 credit in my account today. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before. I used that and the 20% code to get Knife of Dunwall for $5. I love GMG.

I got my Cash back this morning and used it to purchase the Season pass combined with my 3 dollar credit and $2 cash back from buying the season pass I will get the pass for free.

I realize I could have just gotten GMG credit instead of cash back but at the time I was not sure I wanted the season pass.

Thanks for the reminder, I just did the same. $5 for that dlc seems like a decent deal.

Linking my friend's site that I stream for but one of the writers wrote a piece on the story that seems interesting, although I haven't read it myself because I haven't finished the game or come close to doing so. Does include spoilers. Just wouldn't find the story off so quickly.
