If tried in a civilian court they would tried in Massachusetts, which does not have the death penalty. If charged in a military court, it's unlikely that they'd receive the death penalty.

True, and I think it just makes me more certain that these folks are unstable (not right in the head). And this only made it easier on police, since they already knew it was them from surveillance footage and interviews with survivors/witnesses.

They're going through every house in the area systematically, while exercising more caution when they have reason to suspect a threat.
