Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

I prefer to watch North American news sources, especially regarding a domestic issue.

I don't know about the anglophone channel, but francophone Radio-Canada has been really great. Earlier today they had sociologues and other people discussing the effects of media and the internet on society; more precisely, how the constant barrage of negative and sometimes violent stories is being streamed and how it affects people. Great stuff.

Explosions are loud and go in multiple directions, some leave a lot of smoke.

What? So does every kind of sound, dude. Bombs are loud, which do give off their position easily - the sound does travel in all directions, but it will strike your ears from certain angles - and that is how we are able to process a sense of location and direction from any given sound. Explosions have a center, they should be grabbing the attention of others in a huge radius of neighborhoods.

Wonder if there's any video or in-depth explanation from Boston PD of how they lost them.

Not to speak for everyone, but as someone who spent the day inside because they asked us to, I wasn't really worried, just thought I'd stay out of the way and off the roads. I spent some of the day watching the news, and some of it doing other things, like barbecuing some ribs.

I'm sure a lot of people were scared, but a lot of us are just trying to stay out of the way.

yeah, that makes sense. understandable. i wasn't trying to say yall are cowards or something, i realize that law enforcement asked people to stay indoors.

it's just so crazy to me that one psycho can totally shut down a major american city.

So awesome. Can someone GIF that for me please?
