I know I asked this earlier but it's starting to become a huge problem. I can't ask a doctor because I lack medical and have low funds.

I'm unable to perform day to day tasks on just eight hours of sleep. I wake up feeling incredibly tired and weak. My stomach typically hurts too. When I'm able to sleep without worrying about waking up at a certain time, it's usually for twelve hours. This isn't right. I should be able to function after eight hours of sleep. This is affecting my grades in college since I miss class and it's potentially affecting my work since I have to work early sometimes. I can't just work around this problem by getting to bed early since I have a lot to do during the day/evening. What is going on? What can I do? I really need some help.
 
I suggest you find a way to visit a real doctor. You could be suffering from hormonal problems, stress, depression or a bunch of other issues. It's very difficult to diagnose people from a short description. Doctors usually need to poke and squeak their patients a bit and maybe even run a few samples.

Google for free clinics in the area, ask relatives for funding, see if you can apply for some kind of goverement benefit program, etc.

What happens if a junior(like myself) makes his 299th post one that should get him banned, but before the junior gets banned he makes a couple of posts so that he reaches member status? Would that person get perma-banned or would he receive just a temporal ban?
 
Is there a way to stop iTunes redowloading an episode of Sherlock EVERY time iTuens starts?
I only use iTunes to manage my iPod (and to buy S2 of Sherlock) and I deleted the season because it was HD and taking up space I needed for other stuff and now everytime I plug my iPod in it trys to redownload it and I have no idea how to stop it. I stop the download every time but it comes back.

There is a chance the mod will see that you made the bannable post as a junior and perma you. But they will probably just see you are a member and make the ban match the offence of the post. Best thing to do is not post stuff that might get you banned, whether you are a Juniour or a Member. Or if its recent, go back and edit it apologising for what you said.

There is some weird fuckery going on with my computer.

My university offers Microsoft Office 2013 for free but its through some bullshit program that isn't working properly. I have to install Secure Download Manager and then download a .sdx file that pulls up an option to get the 32 or 64 bit versions.

Problem is, when I click on either version, its trying to install a completely different program. It wants to install Cygwin which is a UNIX emulator I use for programming class. Does anyone know why this is happening? I don't think the cygwin.exe and .sdx are even in the same directory.

Desperately need office to finish up some work this weekend :/

edit: Nevermind, I was able to change the install directory of this stupid download manger, nuke all of the other setup.exe programs on my computer, and run it from there.

Stress and depression, yes. I'm also pretty positive I'm anemic but I'll have to check with a doctor to get that figured out. Funny story: just got fired from my job today because of my sleep/health problems. I hope this can be fixed quickly.
 
If it's a dietary issue, or maybe something like hypothyroidism, then it's probably easy to correct. General stress or depression is a lot more difficult to find a quick solution to. Either way you should definitely get on top of it before it gets worse.

When you say you have eight hours of sleep, are you being woken by an alarm?

Warning: Ignorant diagnosis ahead. I am not a doctor.

As I understand it, people oscillate between deep and light sleep through the night, and it feels a lot better to be woken from light sleep than deep sleep. Is it possible you're getting too *much* sleep, so you slip into another deep phase before being awoken?
 
GAF, how do I argue with people on the level of a lawyer? I always have the logical arguments, but when up against an idiot they always trump me by not addressing my point or responding to it with a fallacy. How do I argue so that when they use such techniques I can make it clear that their response is invalid?

Thanks guys. Eating wasn't really on my list of things to do before, as I felt like I was going to throw up at any given moment. Drinking a lot of water as you suggested really helped, I'm feeling quite a bit better now, though tired.
 
I would rather do this myself...but what are some reasons that women aren't qualified to become CEOs of Fortune 500 firms? I know, I know, terrible resolution and anathema to anyone living in the modern era. But, I am forced to debate it tomorrow for a grade and I can't come up with any convincing argument that does not make me sound like an intellectually dishonest bigot.

Is that the exact position you're required to take, or is it a broader issue ("women not being CEOs doesn't prove sexism" or some such) and that's the angle you've chosen?

Your best bet is probably anti-feminist blogs or writings, maybe the MRA section on Reddit.

This is the exact position given to me, I had no choice in the matter.

Thank you for your recommendations but, at first glance, I see nothing but posts on rape, the tyranny of the age of consent, and lawful prostitution.

Hmm, dunno what to tell you. It'd be tough for me to give good arguments on the subject. Maybe some evolutionary psychology stuff? You know, men have to be alphas/leaders/whatever moreso than women, and that's the primary trait you want in a CEO.
 
Have this external drive. Made this thread. Was working a week ago and now, the LED won't turn on. I tried another cord with the same type of plug and the same voltage output. The light didn't come on. If I try and open it, it would probably void the warranty. The files would be nice to get back but it's more important to not waste money (about to buy a house).

Since I've tried to use another cord, it's probably fried, correct? I shouldn't go out of my way to find another cord that's for the device, right? I bought it less than 60 days ago and probably just get a replacement from Target. What do you think?

oh wow I hope you're not taking a science.

But do 35/100*score in exam

so if you got an 80 you would do 35/100 = .35*80 = 28 so you'd have 28% of your final grade, assuming you get 60 in the other shit you'd have a total grade of 88%

Anywhere from like a day to years. If they can still login to GAF but can't post, then their account is still awaiting approval. If they can't login/the username account doesn't exist/someone else now has that username, then they got rejected some time ago.

Took me a year to get rejected first time, then a year to get accepted.

Also if they used a free email address (Like yahoo, hotmail, gmail etc) then their account will never be accepted, or has already been, rejected.
 
What is a good but cheap 2.1 audio system?
I'm looking for something in the $30-$60 range. I'm not hosting any rave parties or home theater nights with it, I'd just like a bit more oomph to my heavy metal.
For gaming, I use headphones anyway.

I can only think of things that are sort of results of other gender biases. Like, women get discouraged from educational options, which leads to them not having the intellectual qualifications that they should be able to have. Or, since that level of business requires a lot of institutional knowledge, "old boys' club" cultures (which are more prevalent in Fortune companies) can actively prevent women from gathering the knowledge to be qualified to lead them.
 
Looking for a site similar in principle and size to HotOrNot. It seems that the once useful site for getting your pictures rated has now been converted into a dating site.. Any ideas?

Trying to find the source of a gif I saw. I think it's from an Indian video of some kind. The clip started with some green guy in a Turban dancing. Most noticeable were the HORRIBLE CG effects. I wanted to see the whole video because it looked fun, but I don't know the name.

I bought a pair of speaker stands that I want to use for the Yamaha system I bought a while ago. It came with three options for mounting the speakers, one being a flat base with double sided tape, the second being an L shaped bracket with one screw hole, and the third being a vertical post thing. I obviously don't want to use tape on my new speakers, and the speakers don't seem to have a hole in the bottom for the post, which leaves just the L-bracket. It has three different sizes of screws, and the only one which fits is around 50% too long, so if I use it, it will probably have around a quarter to third inch of slack. I could probably try to find a nut or some washers to try to remedy that, but my main concern follows:

The speakers have two reinforced threaded holes in the back. Will it cause undue stress to mount them with only one screw?
