Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Guilty Gear XXAC+R is the shit. Vita really is the portable for fighters. DAT DIRECTIONAL BUTTON.

But it has no online >:[

I still like it though, just because it gives me an early start at practicing before the +R patch releases. Now if only capcom would releases SF3: 3S on the system....

And I finally unlocked SS multiplayer. I will say I really like the games art style. We'll see if the mp holds up.

Yep, just like the PS3 version. Online that don't work and always empty lobbies is the same as don't have the mode at all.

Ya, I guess Im holding onto the glimmer of hope that arcsys will get off their ass and make due on their promise to improve online functionality when the +R patch hits. Then again they lied about online being on vita, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lied about that too.

I think I've had the weird download error every single time I've downloaded something from the store in the past week or 2. The problem where it gets stuck on Preparing to Download and then you have to turn off the Vita.

Come on Sony. Fix this shit before Toto comes back.

Three hours for 100% of trophies in Thomas Was Alone... short but sweet. I enjoyed it. Would recommend if it were free on Plus.

what is the one Vita announcement we can guarantee will happen this year? ( discontinued doesnt count)

I really cannot see them keeping it the price it is now, so my guess would be they drop the price(and hopefully announce some games with said drop).

other than that I think(hope) larger memory cards will drop this year.

Ok so I'm at level 3.8 in Thomas was alone and it's pretty decent so far, though not that challenging. It's maybe half an hour in game time so not much. But people have been talking about 3.5 hours to finish it.

Music can be pretty repetitive I'd say (there is one per level iirc), which is a pity as it's basically kinda cool (reminds me a bit of Sigur Ros and those Nordic post rock bands)

Gotta say the narrator voice is gorgeous. I love that accent.

Danny Wallace is great.

Jesus, it took you half an hour to get that far? I'm on 4.2 (i think) and played for over 2 hours, lol

Alright Vita Gaf, I cant choose so help me out. Soul Sacrafice, or Deaf or Alive 5+, I want both, and will own both eventually but ill only have enough for one over the next month or so.

I am really enjoying both demos.

Sooooul Sacrifice! Lots of people are getting that this week so it'd be nice to jump in when everyone else is new as well.

Soul sacrifice dude. The community will be bigger since the game is new.

As much as I've always dismissed game card cases for being pointless (Why would you carry around all your games at once?), I only just realized their true usefulness: Being able to store all of your games in it in your game shelf so that whenever you want to play a game, you can just pull out the case of all of them, rather than having to slide out the individual cases!

Do they make any card cases that are the same size as normal Vita cases? Sort of like the 3DS Game Case I wish I had now.

Once I have more physical games at least. I blame the digital-only trend :(
One nice thing about Project Diva f is that (ignoring any other inclusions like the AR card), while there's no manual, they do include a single folded sheet of paper with a picture on it and some instructions. Why isn't that a standard? It's so depressing opening an empty case, and a single sheet of paper is not asking for much, while making a huge difference.

Just finished the Thomas Was Alone DLC. It's pretty fun but doesn't do anything too different besides adding the jetpack. I would've liked to hear more commentary from Mike because of what occurs in the DLC though. Basically, it's an origin story so if you're not really looking into learning more about the world, then I wouldn't really recommend it.

Oh, and it's only 30 minutes long.

Easy, Soul Sacrifice.

Off topic but
Do you recommend I get Mercenaries for $19 as a download title? I want something kind of like to that to play on my XL. I bought it used but it was all cleared so I took it back.

Not my picture but no, that's $19 for a free mode in every other RE. You should pre-order Animal Crossing instead! Or buy Etrian Odyssey IV.

Nearly everybody here will play Soul Sacrifice. I think you will regret buying DoA when you read people talking about Soul Sacrifice all the time.

K. I'll send you PM sometime with my FC for when I gets AC:WW.

Really pumped for my apartment next year guys. One of my roommates just got a Vita and the one is getting a PS3 this week. The third guy has a ps2 but likes gaming on my ps3 so its all good. :P

Problem with the Vita roommate is he doesn't like any of the downloadable games available. I'll just have to force Guacamelee down his throat.

Yeah, okay. *roll eyes*

Get DOA5+, it's better than Spell Hunter Tri.

I am not saying anything against DoA (although I never liked the series). It's just that Soul Sacrifice will get all the hype, so why not jump on the train? He will buy DoA sooner or later as he said.

Anybody who passes up the Vita's best exclusive coming out in a week to play a port of an old fighting game is bonkers.
Yeah, might as well get SS when it's still fresh.

You can hop on the DOA5 train whenever and still enjoy it (won't get into the matchmaking frustration in this thread...), but SS seems like the type of game whose community you want to enjoy as it develops, not eons after it's already developed and the only people still playing are the hardcore grinder-bees.

Soul Sacrifice. Dead or Alive willl probably drop in price sooner.

I think RE2 still held up last time I played it, but I doubt it would be enjoyable to anyone who didn't play it when they were a kid.

Tough choice. DOA's community is probably only going to get smaller as time goes on so I'd jump on it now. Souls Sacrifice looks to be fun but that'll definitely have a longer online life.

Either way make sure you check out DOA down the road. I have to say it's a great port and one of the Vita's most standout games.

price drop is the only one that I would feel confident in guaranteeing this year, though Cthulhu Saves the Vita (name still pending for Zeboyd Games' 4 game collection that one is just my version of the name :P) is likely going to happen

personally, I don't know whether to be happy or sad at the thought of a Vita hardware revision

(no... there's no news on this... just a thought)
